Chapter 20: The Night Club

Daisy Dyer's POV

I was in her room that we used to hang out when we were not in classes or teaching. Ella was here with me as she wanted to get away from the burden of the study. I was doing my papers before Ella was asking me a weird question.

"How do you know if someone likes you?" She asked as I was turning to look at her. I arched my eyebrow at her before I closed my papers. Now this conversation was more interesting than anything I ever read just now.

"Is this about dinner that you went out with that ex-boss of yours?" I asked before Ella nodded.

"What happened?"

"Well, I don't know how to say this but after taking me home from meeting his family and all, he kind of kissed me before I walked inside the apartment," she said as I was staring at her with wide eyes.

"Okay, so you mean to tell me that he kissed you and you don't want to face the fact that he might have done something to your heart?" I said as Ella was wrapping herself in the blanket. She was sleeping after she came back from her classes. I wondered if this was the cause of it. She nodded before I sighed.

"Girl, you need to confront him. Ask him if he was feeling the same as this…beating that you have in your heart. If you don't ask him directly, you will never know," I said as Ella was thinking about my statement. I can see that her motor was turning in her head.

"I…I can't. I wanted to know but I think…I was afraid to find out about it anymore," she said. Ever since she told me that she had a crush on that stick in the mud boss of hers, I cannot help but felt protective to my best friend right now.

Ella was holding her blanker tightly before I shook my head and I went to the bed to calm her down. I was taking her hands into mine as I was squeezing it before I stared into her eyes.

"Here, look. I know that you might not have the best feeling right now with all the kisses and dinners that he invited you to and his only reason was to be a 'distraction' to his family, but I'm telling you. If he does not seriously think you, I will make sure that he will not be looking at you again," I said as I was staring at her.

"Daisy! I don't want you to kill him!" She exclaimed before I smirked.

"No, not to that extreme but I was thinking more of giving him a black eye or something like that," I said as Ella grimaced at me. I patted her hands before I stood up as an idea was forming inside my mind.

"Okay, enough of this nonsense. We need to get ready to go out," I said as I was looking at Ella. She arched her eyebrows at me.

"Out? For what?"

"Dinner, duh dummy. I don't think that you would be eating instant ramen for the rest of your life," I said as I was rolling my eyes at her.

"But—"

"No but. We will go and you will forget about this man and I think I know how to make that happen," I said as I was smiling wickedly at my friend. I think we will have the best time of our lives tonight.

"Now, shall we go and prepare for a night out?" I said as I was pulling her to give her a makeover.

"But it was only Monday?!" Ella said in horror. I laughed at her.

"No need to worry, I will be there to help you out if you were out of control," I said as I was winking at her. She was looking at me up and down before we were in the wardrobe of hers and taking our time to get ready.

I was taking her to the new restaurant that she never tried before. I loved that restaurant because they have the best-smoked salmon for a reasonable price. I smiled as I remembered the first time I discovered this restaurant 2 years ago.

With Dylan Windell, nonetheless.

I shook my head as I was looking at Ella. She was eating wholeheartedly as she did not have any decent meal lately. I smiled as my plan to get her moving was coming together.

"You know, staring at your best friend can be considered rude you know," Ella said before I laughed and sipped on my champagne.

"But you're my best friend. So people would not get any weird idea," I said as I was putting the glass down. Ella dabbed her mouth with the napkin before I was staring at the nightlife of New York City. It did not change much.

Still hectic as ever.

"So, what do you have planned for us to forget this sadness inside my heart right now?" Ella asked me as she was sipping on her wine. I smiled before I was pulling out the brochure that I got from someone that worked there. She was my colleague that took a part-time job as a bartender there.

She said that she can get us a discount for drinks.

I gave it to Ella before she was looking at it. She was reading it before I was looking around. There were not many people in the outdoor patio as I was looking at the patrons of the restaurant.

"So, what do you think?" I asked Ella before I was getting ready to get out of this restaurant now.

"Hmm, intriguing but only because you were treating me," Ella said as she was smirking at me. I rolled my eyes at her before I was signaling for our check as the waitress that came after we were getting the check and I paid for our meals.

We were out of the restaurant and we made our way to the club as we were walking a couple of blocks away from the restaurant. It was convenient really since we could go to the club early.

"You know, I never been to a club before," Ella said as I stopped and I looked at her.

"Are you serious?" I asked her as she nodded. I sighed before I was pulling her so that she will experience clubbing for the first time tonight.

"Okay, I think we need to educate you properly tonight," I said as I was pulling her to the club so that we can enjoy our night out to the fullest.

The lines to the club were long but we were waiting for our turns and we showed our IDs to the bouncer before he allowed us to go inside. I was smiling at the bouncer as I was pulling Ella to go with me inside the club.

"Wow, this is something that I never have seen before," she said as I was pulling her to the bar. "We need to get you drunk so that it will be much more enticing," I said as I was looking for the familiar face of my colleague before she smiled at me.

"Amanda. Nice to meet you," she said as Ella took her hand.

"Ella, likewise," Ella said as we were ordering whiskey and scotch before we moved to the secluded table. It was nice and we were drinking like we don't have any problem tomorrow. Nothing to worry, just our night out to get drunk and maybe get laid.

"Do you want to dance?" I asked Ella as I was looking at her.

"I am not in the mood to dance, Dee. And you know how sucks I was," Ella said before

she nodded later because she had 5 whiskeys now and I think she was drunk alright.

"Yes!!! Let's," she said as she was making her way to the dance floor. I followed her before we were dancing on the floor as if we were not having any second thoughts tonight.

"Woah! Yeah, freedom!" Ella was screaming as I was laughing with her. She was grinding at some dude and I did the same. They were being touchy but I don't care before someone was disturbing our night.

"What the fuck are you wearing, Ella?!" Ella's TA was asking her as I was trying to focus on their conversation but I was too drunk to hear anything.

I was staring at Cameron who was trying to get Ella out of the dance floor before the familiar musky scent was behind me.

"It seems that you were having fun on your own with your friend as the main course," Dylan said as I turned to scowl at him.

"It's none of your business," I said as I was leaning against the wall before Dylan was whispering to my ear.

"How about we have our entertainment for tonight?" He said as his hot breath was hitting my skin. I shivered. He chuckled as I knew that he saw me shivering at his words.

"I promise that I won't bite. But of course, I would if you let me then," he continued before he was nipping my earlobe. I slightly moaned before I turned to look into his grey orbs. It was darkening like the storms.

"I thought you don't like me," I whispered as I was leaning toward him. He chuckled before he was pulling my face closer to his, playing with our mouths.

"If you think I hate you," he said before he was staring into my brown orbs.

"You need to reassess it," he said before his warm lips met mine, and fireworks exploded.
