Chapter 3:The Broken Leveling System

Lin Ke sat on the ground as he looked around. He did not see any danger at all.

Cries could only be heard in the distance.

Were they ferocious beasts or Werewolves that tried to attack him?

Lin Ke did not bother with this as they were all small fries that could be easily dealt with by the Red Dragon Queen.

Lin Ke opened up the game's Character Attribute Interface and started looking at it curiously.

It was not hard to open up the interface as a blurry window would appear before his eyes when he willed it. It was rather transparent and he was able to see what was behind it.

The interface showed Lin Ke's personal Attributes and it looked very simple.

"Name: Lin Ke"

"Level: 1"

"Star: One Star"

"Rating: Average"

Lin Ke's own model covered 80% of the window. However, Lin Ke did not feel like it looked like him at all.

After taking a closer look, he realized the model on the window looked like a Westerner. His black hair had turned dark brown and his face was much more streamlined. There were other changes. Although Lin Ke was able to tell that it was him at a glance, there were too many differences if he were to take a closer look.

It was as if an Asian had turned into a Westerner.

"It's unfortunate that I don't have a mirror."

Lin Ke wanted to look at himself but could not find anything that would allow him to do so nearby.

Although there was a small river in the distance, he did not dare head there - at least while he was alone. The riverbank was more dangerous than his current location.

Hence, he did not know if it was just his model in the interface or his entire appearance that had changed.

However, it did not matter. He did not mind if his appearance had changed if he could ensure his survival.

Lin Ke sighed. He then realized there was a button to obtain more details at the bottom right corner of the Character Attribute Interface. Obviously, it allowed him to check his Attributes and so on in detail.

Lin Ke was not interested as there was nothing interesting to note from a Level 1 Character.

However, there were another person's Attributes underneath his icon in the Character Attribute Interface.

It was Red Dragon Queen Dra's window.

Similarly, the window was mostly covered by her model. The model looked just like the Red Dragon Queen Dra that he saw earlier. Hence, Lin Ke was confident that his appearance had definitely changed. There really was a slight change in appearance when he was transmigrated.

"Red Dragon Queen Dra"

"Level: 1"

"Star: Six Stars"

"Grade: Dark Gold"

"Rating: Disaster"

"It seems like, besides having the same Level as me, she's much stronger."

Lin Ke sighed. The word Disaster shocked him as it made him feel like his Average rating was worthless. Furthermore, he did not know just how many tiers were between the Disaster Rating and Average Rating.

However, as Lin Ke focused his gaze on the word Disaster, a line of small text appeared above it. It was an explanation of the Disaster Rating. "This is equivalent to a natural disaster! A disaster that can't be avoided!"

"Woah, that's amazing!" Lin Ke pouted and then looked at his own Average Rating. "Just a commoner, not much different than the rest."

"What a horrible comment!" Lin Ke laughed uncontrollably as if he did not mind at all.

Browser games, no, this was the standard for the majority of the games. The main character's Attributes would be incredibly bad at first. However, as the Level increased, it would become stronger and gradually become incredibly powerful.

Lin Ke believed that his Rating would be higher than Disaster if he kept growing!

He then looked into more details regarding Red Dragon Queen Dra. He wanted to see the Attributes of the Disaster Rated Red Dragon Queen Dra and just how strong she was.

As he opened the Interface, what greeted him was an introduction to Red Dragon Queen Dra.

Lin Ke took a closer look since she would be living with him from that day onward. It was a must to understand his partner's background.

Red Dragon Queen Dra: "The sovereign of the Dragon Continent, offspring of the Evil Dragon. She was still young when the Evil Dragon passed away. She was cast away by the Red Dragon Tribe and had no choice but to wander on the continent. Dra, who had been cast out, decided to declare herself as Queen of Red Dragons. Since she was alone when she became the Red Dragon Queen, she had become her own queen."

Hence, Red Dragon Queen Dra was seen as an enemy by the Red Dragon Tribe. Despite countless battles with them, she still had an unwavering wish.

For Kassandra! In other words, she wanted to find an eternal home.

She wanted a safe home that would accept her.

"So that is what Kassandra means." Lin Ke nodded slightly as she understood Dra's wish.

However, it was really unexpected to him that Dra was actually a Red Dragon.

Furthermore, the character introduction for this Starter Pack Hero shocked him. He was not sure if this was real or was it just a fake memory given by the game's system.

Lin Ke closed the window as he had a lot of time to slowly figure this out. What was most important to him right now was to see Red Dragon Queen Dra's Attributes.

However, Lin Ke could not help but blink at the unexpected situation as he looked at her Attributes. He had even suspected that he had made a mistake.

Her Strength, Agility, Stamina, and so on were all messed up!

There was no fixed value and this made Lin Ke frowned. "Is the game bugged or I can't determine her Attributes at this point in time?"

Truthfully, Lin Ke still had to rely on the game's system to survive. He would be in a tough spot if the system was broken.

He was fine when he did not know it existed, but now that he found it, it was broken. The feeling of being hopeful and then having it taken away was something nobody should experience.

He continued scrolling down, ignoring the messed up Attributes to see Red Dragon Queen Dra's EXP Bar.

Reaching Level 2 was simple. All she needed was 200 EXP Points.

Lin Ke had been staring at it for a long time and the EXP Bar remained at 0/200. It was not increasing at all.

However, the cries of the wild beasts from all directions before they died made Lin Ke squint.

Werewolves and wild beasts were dying continuously under Red Dragon Queen Dra's hand. However, this did not give her any EXP Points. There could only be one explanation for this - Heroes were not leveled up via killing monsters.

Lin Ke had played many games in the past. While some games leveled up in such a manner, many more would rely on EXP Scrolls or Fruits to fill in the EXP Bar. Only the main character would obtain EXP when monsters were killed.

Perhaps this was one of those games. Lin Ke prepared himself as he wanted to look at the game's Market. Perhaps he could find something there.

Naturally, there was also one scary possibility - the game's Leveling System was broken.

Lin Ke forcefully buried this thought and opened his Character Attribute Interface. He wanted to see his own Attributes and the difference between his and Dra's.

However, when he opened it, he found out that his Attributes were all messed up, just like Red Dragon Queen Dra's.

As usual, his EXP Bar was the same as hers. It was still at 0/200.

He did not obtain any EXP Points for killing these beasts.

The game's Leveling System via killing monsters was most likely broken.
