Dra was weirded out at the sight of everyone welcoming her.

Obviously, this was all of her Lord’s arrangements.

Dra remembered that it was typical of Lin Ke to greet her personally at the main gate each time she returned from the outside.

It was not only herself, the same went for the other partners, whom her Lord would also greet personally if he did not have other matters to attend to.

This time was no different. In fact, he even brought along others to welcome her return.

However, Dra was not in the most pleasant shape when Lin Ke saw her. Fresh blood stained her entire body, making it an uncomfortable sight.

“Dra, go clean yourself up first. After you’ve eaten and rested enough, we shall commence a battle in the arena.”

Lin Ke smiled as he opened the main gate, allowing access for Dra to enter the tower.

Dra saw Alice who was standing close to Lin Ke, lifted her chin, and huffed before entering through the main gate.

Lin Ke was shocked when he witnessed the scene, he asked Avina, “What’s up with those two?”

“Nothing much.” Avina thought of Alice’s threatening gaze, her lips pulsed slightly before she could utter, “Probably just couldn’t get along well enough.”

“Oh, then they should probably understand each other more. After all, we’re family and are relying on each other to live.” Lin Ke did not think too much into the matter. He rubbed his temple, feeling an increased intensity of pain in his head and continued, “Besides, soon enough we’ll be participating in a huge battle. We can only survive in this place if all of you get along with each other.”

Lin Ke thought what he said had made much sense, but Lucy quickly interrupted and said, “Heh, but some people think they’re too strong and didn’t need to cooperate with the rest.”

“Eh?”

Lin Ke halted his footsteps and turned to Lucy, “What do you mean?”

As Lucy was asked the question, she too halted her footsteps and seemed visually troubled.

She felt that if she were to tell the truth, she would probably suffer grave consequences. However, Lucy could not keep the matter a secret any longer. After witnessing Dra being brutally beaten by Alice in the afternoon, she was already fuming. Since Lin Ke asked about it, Lucy felt that it was time to reveal what actually happened.

Hence, Lucy had mentally prepared herself to start explaining the event.

“Nothing much, we just thought that as our teammates’ capabilities are growing, one day, someone would surely attempt to defeat all the werewolves on their own.” Avina quickly diverted the topic, she saw both Lucy’s attempt to spill on the event as well as Alice’s increasingly solemn expression. She continued, “After all, our strengths can only grow dramatically whereas the werewolves’ strengths will always be fixed at where they’re at right now.”

Avina was clear just how terrifying Alice actually was.

Lucy was just a Leader Rank hero. She felt that Alice was merely strong but nothing else. As a result, she did not think too much into it when Alice defeated Dra.

On the other hand, Avina was clear that the skill gap between her and Alice was of gigantic magnitude.

One could say that she was almost at the level of heroes depicted in the legends, a super powerhouse that could only be found once every few years.

Besides, although the heroes were all unequivocally loyal to Lin Ke, they did not share the same thoughts when it came to working together with each other. Once Lucy angered Alice, her fate would probably have been sealed.

“Sure, that’s right.” Lin Ke accepted Avina’s explanation. Indeed, following the leveling ups of the Elemental Tower and himself, his subordinate heroes would surely become stronger in the process.

The number of Elemental Guards would grow and so would their capabilities.

In fact, it would not take long before he was able to sweep cleanly across Werewolf Forest with ease.

Having been dragged to another topic of conversation, Lin Ke did not feel something was off. Filled with excitement and also an incessant headache, he brought everyone to the arena.

The arena was enormous and spacious. However, situated in the middle of the arena was an object similar to a fighting ring.

It was completely empty above. Lin Ke walked forward and a series of virtual images unfolded before him.

He soon figured out the way to use this fighting ring.

Lin Ke and his heroes did not need to personally enter the battle below.

He merely needed to decide on the lineup and the heroes would be projected in the arena. The battle would commence automatically without them having control over it.

Whether it would be a victory or defeat, they only needed to look at the simulated battle events unfolding.

On the arena interface, Lin Ke could see all of his heroes’ images and assign roles to them.

Only five individuals could participate in the battle. It was compulsory that Lin Ke himself participated, whereas the rest of the heroes’ lineup could be freely chosen.

The best scenario in deciding a team lineup was to at least include a tank, a damage dealer, a healer, and a support. Lin Ke thought that he could already assemble a decent team from his current pool of heroes.

Dra was a Warrior type Class. She had great defenses as well as offensive capabilities. Although her defense was not as great as a pure buffed tank, her status as a Dark-gold Grade hero meant that she was more durable than the average tank.

Whereas in the arena, Dra had her own unique identification – Half-Tank, Half-Damage dealer, marked with the symbol of [Sword/Shield].

Lin Ke could also arrange the battle formation in the arena, splitting into the frontline, middle-line, and backline.

Heroes received a 15% increase to their Health Points at the frontline, a 10% increase to their Damage at the middle-line, and a 10% increase to their Attack Speed at the backline.

Lin Ke positioned Dra in the front to act as a tank.

Then, he looked across the remaining female heroes and arranged them according to the identification assigned to them by the arena.

The Perfect Housemaid Alice was identified with a [Dagger] symbol, indicating an assassin with strong offensive capabilities.

Lin Ke positioned her in the middle as the main damage dealer.

Following after, Stardust’s Child Kara was positioned at the back as arranged by Lin Ke.

The [+] symbol represented a healer, she needed extra protection to perform her duty in battle.

Finally, there was still one more person to be picked.

Should he pick a damage dealer like the Elven Archer Avina, or should he go with a support like the Compassionate Priest Lucy?

Do not judge Lucy by the fact that she was a Blue grade hero, her Skill in the arena could be considered by some to be unnatural.

A high percentage of defense combined with a Control type Skill – although still highly ineffective against heroes of high capabilities. How strong could the early NPCs be? Lin Ke believed that this Skill was definitely powerful!

However, the Elven Archer Avina’s Skill was formidable too.

Converged Explosive Starry Light – why did it sound so familiar? (Author’s Note: Lin Ke remembered wrongly, it was Explosion Arrow of Starry Light), and Fatal Arrow, specialized in executing ailing enemies.

These skills, when unleashed in the arena, would be formidable as well.

Lin Ke hesitated, but he had never thought of switching Alice out.

As a newly summoned hero, Lin Ke was still unclear on how her Skill worked. However, Lin Ke knew that a Dark-gold grade hero like this would yield powerful capabilities.

Besides, he could witness her Skills in the arena.

Lin Ke gave it some thought and finally decided to put Lucy in. Using a team lineup with the greatest survivability, he wanted to measure how they would perform in the early stage battles.

Finally, in regard to Lin Ke’s position, he felt that he probably would not be of much use in the battle. He positioned himself at the frontline to concentrate most of the enemy’s attacks on him so that more time could be bought for the heroes behind him.
