“What did you say!” Dra shouted angrily. “What makes you say that we’re the cause of our Lord’s injury!?”

Dra could not hold back her anger. All this while, she was extremely loyal and would give her all to her Lord. In fact… This was the worst provocation and humiliation to her, who had fallen in love with her Lord due to a mixture of emotions.

Although Dra had lost to her before, the former would still want to fight her!

“What makes me say that?”

Alice looked at the female Heroes that she had angered with her words earlier. She let out an air of hilarity. “What else do you think damaged the Lord’s soul? Is there an enemy in the Elemental Tower attacking the Lord?”

Everyone was silent!

Everyone looked at Dra as soon as Alice finished speaking.

For the past few days, Lin Ke had suffered continuous injuries as he went through the Tough Shield Warrior’s training. This was the only possible source of the bloody smell.

“Impossible!” Dra frowned. “The Tough Shield Warrior training merely causes devastation to the physical flesh in order to evolve one’s body to obtain a higher defense. It wouldn’t cause any injury to the soul at all!”

“Your accusation towards me doesn’t hold water!”

Dra’s refute could not make Alice speechless. In fact, the latter scoffed and questioned further. “Is that so? Do you really think so? Are you certain that the Tough Shield Warrior’s training won’t harm the soul?”

Alice’s words made Dra even more confident. “That’s right. I’ve asked other highly-ranked Tough Shield Warriors in the past and have obtained the entire training module from them. In fact, I’ve gone through the training before and even witnessed the Tough Shield Warrior’s training as well. I know this thing inside out!”

“Oh? Really? Did those Tough Shield Warriors learn it in two days, were able to head into battle in ten days, and become invincible in a month?”

Alice looked amused as she mocked.

“Impossible!” Dra cut off Alice. “One can only build a good foundation if one were to be harmed and soak in elixirs repeatedly in the early phase. There are still a lot of training modules to go through in order to become the most basic Tough Shield Warrior!”

“Is that so? Since you know that it requires so many procedures, why do you think the Lord is able to have such a drastic increase in defense in merely two days?” Alice gritted her teeth. “Perhaps your training and the training done by those Tough Shield Warriors is different?”

“The reason those Tough Shield Warriors require so many procedures is that it takes a long time to recover from their injury. They need medicine and other unique techniques to recover,” Dra explained. “Furthermore, Lord’s injury is able to heal in a night due to my Qi and the Dormitory’s regeneration. Besides, there’s still Kara’s treatment…”

“Enough. Shut your mouth!” Alice’s gaze was lethal. “Idiot, do you still not understand? Our Lord is merely a commoner in the past. He has never gone through any training at all. How could he endure the Tough Shield Warrior’s training out of the blue? Extreme pain is enough to cause serious injury to a commoner’s soul!”

“Qi? You must be referring to your Dragon’s Origin. Indeed, it’s able to heal any flesh injury, but it doesn’t provide any assistance to the soul at all. In fact, it would make the soul’s injury worse!”

“I’m afraid that the Lord has suffered a serious injury on the first day of those cruel beatings! Yet, none of you realized at all! All you’ve been doing is healing his physical wound but you didn’t provide any treatment to his soul and mental state at all!”

“His soul’s injury became worse as the training went on and everything that has happened leads to today!” Alice took a deep breath and asked angrily, “Now, do you think it’s got nothing to do with you guys?!”

Dra’s expression became paler and paler as Alice continued. She froze still as she looked at Lin Ke laying down at the side. She was in disbelief that she was the one that caused such a serious injury to her own Lord.

She slowly lowered her head as she felt the whole world crumbling down around her.

The other Heroes at the side felt the same as they shouldered the devastation together with Dra.

Alice responded with silence as she stared into their mindless gaze. After some time, she opened her mouth. “This is why I’ve told you all that you don’t possess any capability to take care of the Lord. So please, just help the Lord with what you do best.”

“Our Lord needs safety, so please come up with a safe space for him.”

“Now that this place is under attack by the Werewolves, please go and kill all of the Werewolves here.”

“Performing your role is the best loyalty to the Lord!”

“Since our Lord’s injury isn’t too serious, I’ll tend to his wound.”

Alice’s words stabbed right into Dra and the others’ hearts. After a long time, Dra took a deep breath and walked toward the Dormitory’s entrance.

“I’m coming with you.” Avina came to her senses two seconds later. She stopped staring at Alice as she chased after Dra.

Lucy and Kara looked at each other and started leaving silently.

There was no need for them to go outside because their Profession and capabilities were not suitable for it.

It was just that they did not feel like staying in the same room with Alice. They would do the same even if they did nothing wrong.

“Dra!” Alice shouted as Dra was leaving.

“Please be careful out there and don’t die in any battle so that the Lord wouldn’t need to spend any resources to resurrect you!”

Veins started popping up on Dra’s head upon hearing Alice’s words. “I don’t need you to worry about me! Just take care of the Lord! I’ll kill you if anything happens to him!”

“You’ll definitely see our healthy Lord standing right in front of you.”

Alice waved her hand, considering it bidding goodbye to them.

“Hmpf!” Dra clenched her fist and stormed out of the room.

Soon, not a single noise could be heard from the Dormitory. Lucy, who was last to leave the room, closed the door. Despite her not wanting to see Alice, her Lord was still in the room.

“It’s about time.” Alice waited for a long time before she stared at Lin Ke laying down peacefully at the side. She took a deep breath as she climbed up into the bed and kneeled beside Lin Ke.

Alice caressed her cherry lips as she slowly bowed down and kissed Lin Ke’s lips.

An azure blue halo appeared as the lips connected. As a few balls of light spread out, she captured them with her hands and absorbed them into her body.

Moments later, Alice was so tired that she laid aside and panted heavily.

Meanwhile, Lin Ke who was sleeping seemed to have been soaked into warm water, cleansing every part of his body.

Part of Lin Ke’s soul that was damaged had finally recovered.
