Lin Ke was blushing throughout at this point. However, the story quickly took a drastic turn.

Alice actually took out a toy for Lin Ke.

It was a wooden bird. Its wings could be extended upon shaking both its claws beneath.

Lin Ke sighed and received the toy bird from Alice. Although his mood turned blue, he felt a sense of relief.

The kiddy toy was not useful to him. After all, he was not a caveman and could understand the mechanism of the toy. The lack of interest from Lin Ke was to be expected.

Perhaps it could be used in times when he was really bored – even though it looked embarrassing while he was playing with it. However, as Lin Ke shook the toy bird’s claws several times, it actually started to fly.

Although it could last only a few seconds in the air, Lin Ke felt that it was interesting.

“What’s this?”

Lin Ke did not expect that a hollow wooden toy bird could actually fly. There must be more to it that he did not know about.

“This is my investigation tool.” Alice retrieved the flying toy bird and hurled it gently. The toy bird instantly glided across the surrounding and disappeared outside the tower.

Lin Ke immediately used the Tower Sight and observed that the flying toy bird dashed into the distance and vanished a few ten meters into the horizon.

Leaving the Tower Sight, Lin Ke noticed that the wooden bird had returned to Alice’s hands.

“What a delicate tool.” Lin Ke nodded. This was definitely no ordinary tool.

Alice resolved Lin Ke’s confusion. “It’s because I’ve deposited a certain amount of my energy into it. When the wooden bird flies, I could use its sight to monitor any place. Once it flies past a certain distance, it’ll automatically return to my hands, but it’s best not to have it fly too much because it needs time to repair itself.”

The bird would be damaged each time it flew. It was unclear whether the damage was caused by the energy Alice deposited or by the spatial teleportation.

Lin Ke took a few looks at Alice and asked, “You were actually seducing me before this, right? Since there’s no need for all the suggestive actions if you were just trying to retrieve the wooden bird.”

“Of course!” Alice nodded and admitted.

Lin Ke burst into a peal of laughter. He laughed so hard that he felt his heart was racing and that his belly was aching from it. With a hoarse voice, he asked further, “Aren’t you afraid I’ll eat you up?”

“That would be most welcoming.” Alice gently covered her face and smiled invitingly, “A housemaid’s duty is always to seduce her own Master.”

He was stunned but quickly followed it up with another bout of laughter. He shook his head and declined her enticing invitation.

“That’s enough, we should attend to our own matters.”

Lin Ke gestured her away. Alice was visually reluctant to leave but still chose to obey his instructions. However, just before she left, she looked out the main gate and saw a few figures emerging from the distance.

Dra held the fish in her hands while rushing into the depths of the Tower. She immediately bumped into Lin Ke, who was greeting her with a smile.

Feeling the slight tension of awkwardness, she raised the fish in both her hands and said, “My Lord, the fish are here.”

“Hmm.” Lin Ke waved at her. “I shall count on you for the rest.”

“Sure, the fish soup will be ready by noontime.” Dra quickly wrapped up and left Lin Ke’s sight.

Avina and the rest were seen appearing from the distance too. They had all returned.

When all the members were present, Lin Ke gathered them around for an important task.

To summon new members of the team.

This had become a tradition. Each time a new hero was about to be summoned, everyone would gather around and exchange greetings.

The altar room felt packed once everyone arrived.

As six of them stood at the entrance of the altar, there was not much space left in an already confined area.

Lin Ke only had 20 Summoning Cards on him. The highest grade of heroes that could be summoned was the purple grade. However, as long as there were heroes being summoned, it was considered a success for that day.

He took a deep breath and cheered himself up from within. He soon began his first round of summoning.

Ten Summoning Cards were drawn and each card was displayed individually in front of him.

Poof, the first card revealed 3 blue grade heroes’ Soul Shards.

Poof, the second one revealed 5 white grade heroes’ Soul Shards. There were more this time.

Poof, poof, poof. Lin Ke drew 3 cards in a row. Unfortunately, they all revealed only Soul Shards of white and green grade heroes. Lin Ke was annoyed. Even if the cards had to contain Soul Shards, he should receive better-graded ones. Such luck was unacceptable.

Boom!

Just as Lin Ke was sulking, a blast of green lights erupted from the sixth card. It revealed a complete hero.

Although her grade was unimpressive and belonged to the lowest amongst all heroes Lin Ke currently owned, Lin Ke was still delighted and he quickly inspected the new hero’s card.

“Thunderstorm Archer.”

“Level: 1”

“Star: One Star”

“Grade: Green”

“Rating: Excellent”

Lin Ke smacked his own cheeks. The Thunderstorm Archer did not even have a name. Was it not too pitiful?

Even the blue grade Compassionate Priest, Lucy had a name.

He did not realize this occurrence while inspecting Soul Shards at the Bloodbath Shop at all.

It was not surprising. Most of Lin Ke’s attention was focused on higher-grade heroes. He merely took a quick glance at their prices before completely neglecting the hero names of the remaining blue and green grade Soul Shards.

Regardless, he had now known what the rating above him was called.

After Average Rating would be Excellent Rating, it was one point higher than his own rating.

Average – Excellent – Leader – Fear – Nightmare – Disaster – Legend, Lin Ke finally knew all the ratings available, from the lowest to the highest.

Although he still did not have a Legend Rating hero by his side, he could soon summon one the next day.

Then, the seventh, eighth, and ninth cards all revealed only Soul Shards.

Then came the tenth card, the one that guaranteed a complete hero.

Boom!

An array of blue lights blasted from the card, representing a blue grade hero.

Although it was not a high grade, at least the hero would have a name.

Lin Ke focused all his attention and excitedly turned to the back of the card.

As Lin Ke flipped the card around, he was instantly stunned.

“Compassionate Priest Lucy”

“Level: 1”

“Star: Three Star”

“Grade: Blue”

“Rating: Leader”

It was another Lucy Summoning Card.

Another one, an exact same copy!

Lin Ke inhaled deeply and looked towards Lucy’s direction. He decided not to summon the green grade hero first, but to use Lucy’s card.

He wanted to find out if he could resummon another Lucy!

The system declined Lin Ke’s request, he could only smile helplessly.

Indeed, this card could not be used to summon the same hero again.

Extra hero cards could probably be used to strengthen the relevant hero in the future.

Lin Ke kept the card properly and looked at Lucy for a brief moment. To be able to access enhancements more easily than other heroes in the future, she was considered a lucky one.

Then, Lin Ke channeled his focus onto another hero.

He was eager to summon and find out more about the Thunderstorm Archer.
