Zhou Miao pulled Little Cheng Heng’s hand and knocked on the door.
No one heard the knocking from here, probably because the students outside were having a free period to do whatever they wanted.
Cheng Heng stood where he was and did not pick up his school bag or look at his torn homework book. He only stared fixedly at Zhou Miao.
“I’m Sister Angel. Do you still remember me?” Zhou Miao looked at him.
Cheng Heng pursed his lips. “Sister Angel…”
“Yes, yes.” Seeing that Cheng Heng remembered her name, Zhou Miao felt somewhat proud.
“Do they take your homework and divide it up every time? Just like what happened earlier?”
Cheng Heng reverted to his silent and dazed appearance.
“You have to know that what they’re doing is wrong. They want you to get scolded by the teacher, which is not a good thing. Besides, if the drawings and questions that you worked so hard to complete were taken away by them, you’ll have nothing left. Do you understand?”
Zhou Miao half-squatted in front of Little Cheng Heng, gently pinching his chubby face.
“Next time, if they try to steal your homework again, you have to tell your mommy and the teacher, understand?”
Cheng Heng nodded doubtfully, as if he didn’t quite understand.
“Cheng Heng, why are you here? It’s time to hand in your homework. Where’s your homework?”
The door to the art classroom was pushed open, and a girl in a school uniform stood outside.
The girl was probably the daughter of some wealthy family. Her skin was fair, and she was sporting a princess’s hairdo. Her eyes and brows were exquisite, and she had a kind of petulant air about her that came from being raised in a rich family.
“Why did they lock you here again? I’ll go and tell the teacher!” The little girl saw the scattered books and stationery on the ground. She picked them up and handed them to Cheng Heng with a frown.
“Why don’t you hit them? They bully you like this every day!”
The girl looked at Cheng Heng. Cheng Heng was still standing in the same place, his eyes as calm as an ancient well.
“Come back to the classroom with me first.”
The girl pushed the door open and walked out. Cheng Heng stood in the same place without moving.
“Little Heng, let’s go back to the classroom first, okay?”
Little Cheng Heng nodded slightly and followed the little girl.
“Cheng Heng, why aren’t you saying anything? Where’s your homework?”
The little girl kept talking along the way.
“Those naughty boys are bullying you. You should be fighting them!”
“You’ve been silent all this time. I saved you. Why aren’t you saying thank you?”
The little girl pouted and complained with a face full of displeasure, but the corners of her mouth were slightly curled up.
Zhou Miao could tell that this little girl seemed to like Little Cheng Heng quite a bit.
“Cheng Heng, you have to repay me in the future. I was the one who saved you!” The little girl stood at the door of the classroom and instructed Cheng Heng.
Zhou Miao laughed in spite of herself. A child’s adoration was still very cute. If only Cheng Heng could act like a normal child, then he would probably have many friends like this little girl.
“Bai Yang, have you found Cheng Heng?” The form teacher asked the little girl. “Have you finished collecting the homework?”
“Teacher, someone locked Cheng Heng in the art classroom. He hasn’t given me his homework.”
Bai Yang seemed to be the class monitor of this class.
“Cheng Heng, where’s your homework?”
Cheng Heng didn’t respond and simply sat in front of his desk.
“Little Heng, tell them that your homework was taken away by those few students.” Zhou Miao used his finger to point at those naughty boys for Cheng Heng to see.
Those naughty boys were all sitting up straight with righteous looks on their faces.
How could they be so naughty at such a young age!
“Snatched away…” Cheng Heng’s voice was very soft, but the teacher still heard him.
“Snatched away?” The teacher looked at Cheng Heng with a puzzled look.
“It was those two students. Tell the teacher they snatched it.” Zhou Miao said anxiously by Cheng Heng’s ear.
Cheng Heng slowly stretched out his hand and pointed at the two naughty boys. “Them.”
Zhou Miao thought that this time, Cheng Heng only needed to identify the two children.
“We didn’t! The idiot is talking nonsense!” The little boy who was pointed out immediately stood up and said loudly.
“Yes, Teacher. We did the homework together during the summer break. We can vouch for each other.” The other child looked at Cheng Heng with resentment. “It must be because Cheng Heng accused us of not following the school rules the last time he was on duty, and this time he wants to slander us for not doing homework!”
Cheng Heng looked at them without any reaction.
So it was this sort of collective bullying. No normal student would be able to refute this sort of allegation, let alone someone in Cheng Heng’s condition.
“Bai Yang, go to Class Five in sixth grade and call Cheng Heng’s brother over.”
Zhou Miao frowned. Shouldn’t such matters be investigated carefully before being dealt with? Cheng Tai was also an elementary school student, but he was one grade higher than them. What was the use of calling him?
