Chapter 313 Couple Turned To Be Enemies (Part One)

If Rufus hadn't asked her anything, Stella, who was actually focused on her work, would not have said a single word to complain. But now that Rufus had unknowingly opened the floodgates, Stella felt compelled by her anger to give him a piece of her mind.

"Mr. Luo, if you don't know where she is, then perhaps it's because she doesn't want you to know her whereabouts. Please, stop asking."

With a discontented and unspeakably aggrieved face, she refused to answer his question and turned him down straight away even though he was her boss.

Stella had her own style, plain, clear, ungarnished and straight-forward. Rufus was well aware of it which was why he wasn't angry at her insolent behavior.

However, judging by her words, the sharp-witted man concluded that Stella knew where to find Cassandra. Rufus understood that Stella was upset, and she had her reasons not to tell him anything about Cassandra.

"Look, Stella, I know that she is not in a good place right now. I don't see why else she would sell the company. If you are her friend, and you truly care about her, please tell me where she is. I want to help her."

Rufus, frustrated and at the end of his patience, stood up from his seat and looked straight into Stella's eyes like he was staring into her soul, with both hands on the edge of the desk. This time he wasn't asking for an answer, he was demanding it.

"I'll be there to help her when she needs a hand. And, thank you for your kindness, Mr. Luo!"

Stella was obviously mad at him, but that was because she felt sorry for her friend. Cassandra had been so hard up lately that when her mother needed a surgery she had to borrow money from Stella to pay for the expenses.

At the time, Stella wasn't certain whether Cassandra had broken up with Rufus because when she asked her about it, Cassandra merely smiled bitterly and dodged further inquiries launched at her. That was an indication for Stella to understand that something must have gone wrong between Rufus and

Ivy was dressed solely to please Lionel today. Her olive skin was brushed with makeups to bring out the sharp structure on her bones, and she wore a soft pink shade on her thin lips. She flicked her hair over her shoulder and gave him a flirtatious grin, fluttering her eyelashes just a little for effect.

However, Lionel seemed to be in a rush as he pushed her away impatiently.

"Now isn't really a good time for me. I'm very busy! You should go back!"

Lionel was looking for Cassandra too, and like everybody else he had no clue of her whereabouts either.

G City was a sprawling, bustling metropolis. If Cassandra didn't want to be found, there wasn't much anyone could do about it.

This helplessness left Lionel terribly frustrated. Moreover, it didn't help to ease his frustrations when Ivy, the person he had been avoiding for a long time, kept throwing herself at him. In fact, he became increasingly exasperated.

"Go back? Back to where? Back to the Tang house?"

Burning rage hissed through Ivy's body like deathly poison, but her flawless smiling facade masked her anger from him.

Lionel stopped on his tracks and then turned around to face her, with an arrogant look on his face.
