"Oh morning! It snowed a lot, didn't it? I was surprised to see you two up so early. You know what? I don't think it's a good idea for you two to head back today. Just stay and relax. Let me get the breakfast ready for you," Edith bubbled as she turned back into the kitchen. Cassandra followed her mother to give a hand. "Did you have a good sleep last night? It must be really cozy with the two of you sharing the warmth!" Edith teased and it instantly turned Cassandra's face into a tomato.

When Cassandra came out, blushing in embarrassment, Rufus, without being aware of what just happened, asked in concern, "Your face is red, are you sick?" Shaking her head, she just handed him a few slices of toast.

Upon sitting down, Cassandra's face was not as red as before. The smiling mother then joined them. Edith kept stealing glances at the couple as she made herself busy serving them dishes. 'How lovely! How I wish our family can reunite and soon we will have grandkids running around...' Her face was glowing and her smile just couldn't seem to fade.

The clashing of steel utensils started as they chewed up the heavenly breakfast. "This is going to be a long day. Shouldn't we do something to ease our boredom?" Cassandra asked, with the intent of diverting her mother's attention from the topic.

Judging from the heavy snow last night, they would be snowed in for the day most likely. It would be better to come up with some ideas to entertain themselves...

"Why don't you just take a rest, Cassandra? It must have been quite exhausting yesterday, isn't it?" Edith said intentionally to mock her adorable daughter.

The daughter choked with her mother's remark that was mentioning about the last night's commotion. In her mother's thoughts, it was a rare opportunity for her daughter to spend a whole day with her, and thus, she was seizing the moment. With the couples here, this house would no longer feel empty, at least for the day.

"Auntie, I'm planning to purchase another house in G City. Would you be willing to move in with us?"

out of the blue, Rufus interrupt

The Mighty Soldier King is back!

Will our Mighty Soldier King be defeated? Or will he sweep away all obstacles?

hing?" she asked.

The last piece of fruit slice on Rufus's hand dropped onto the floor to his surprise with Cassandra's comment.

"Nah, don't mind me," he said and threw the dirty fruit to the trash bin.

The little woman set her laptop aside and sat up straight facing his direction.

"Rufus, I've always wanted to ask you this question. It's been bothering me for a long time already,"

she said and bit her lips, a serious look on her face. For her, this was a delicate topic but her curiosity was not letting her be silent.

"Come on, what is it? Why are you so hesitant?"

Rufus asked as he was suspicious of her question. Nonetheless, he was ready for it.

"I don't know. Will you answer this? Please don't get mad!"

the tiny voice of the woman pleaded beforehand just in case he would be flustered. 'This question won't tamper with our relationship, right?' she thought nervously.

"Spill the beans. I won't get mad at you, darling,"

Rufus said with a smile. The thought of Cassandra being worried that he might get angry amused him. It was truly a priceless scene to witness.

The anxious woman silently prayed and gathered all her courage. Taking a deep breath, she looked intently in his eyes and asked, "Rufus, since you can be so great to me and my family, why can't you do the same to your own father and brother? Why do you have to be...be so ruthless?"
