Amused by Rufus's reply, Cassandra let out a joyful laughter which enchanted Rufus.

"Darling, I can't wait to see the little Cassandra now."

Rufus let out a whoop of glee as he picked Cassandra up in his arms.

"Me too,"

Cassandra nodded.

However...

Suddenly, Cassandra remembered what the doctor had told her during the check-up. 'I have to take some time to do another health check-up, it seems, ' she decided.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get it done with," Rufus murmured.

Love was in the air for these two lovers.

After Amanda returned from the hospital, she found herself confined within the walls of the house.

Charlie was no longer in G City. Every time she tried to get out of the house, someone would turn her down using different excuses.

"Who are you to give me orders? Let me out!" Amanda yelled at the servant.

She had used every trick in the book, but he just wouldn't let her have her way.

"I am sorry, Mrs. Ji, but I have strict orders from Mr. Ji to prevent you from going outside. If I let you go out, he is going to punish me. Besides, you should be resting,"

said the servant, blocking Amanda's path.

"If you don't get out of my way, I will fire you!"

Amanda threatened, furiously pointing her finger at the servant.

"Ma'am, Mr. Ji has made it very clear that since he is the one paying us, his orders are the only ones we need to follow."

The servant wasn't afraid of Amanda at all. In the past, Amanda had sacked a number of servants who went against her, but now Clark had made it clear that the only person who had the authority to hire and fire anyone was him, not Amanda.

"What do you mean—his orders are the only ones you need to follow? You are paid to work for me! How dare you speak to me like that?"

Amanda wasn't expecting the servant to be so resilient. The fact that he used Clark's name to pressure her, infuriated Amanda.

"Mrs. Ji, please try to understand. We must follow Mr. Ji's orders. Moreover, you haven't fully recovered yet. Perhaps it's best for you to stay at home."

The servant wasn't going to cave in. No matter what Amanda said, he wouldn't let her out.

Having run out of patience, Amanda decided to stop arguing and force her way out.

'I am sick of all this! I don't know what I will do if I have to spend another second here! How can I be imprisoned like this? I can't stand it anymore!' she exclaimed in her heart.

However, the servant extended his arms to block Amanda and with that they found themselves at an impasse.

Amanda felt frustrated, even though she knew that the servant was just following Clark's orders. Judging by the servant's resilience, she figured that Clark must have instructed him to use whatever m

“Who does she think she is? I won’t marry her even if she is the last woman on earth,” said Hiram Rong.

“Marry into a family with tens of billions of assets? How lucky I am! I won’t be so foolish as to break off the engagement. At worst, I can receive money as part of the divorce settlement,” said Rachel Ruan.

Their great-grandfathers made a pact about their engagement a hundred years ago...

companies to flourish in this City..." ...

As the reporter spoke, Clark shot his eyebrows up.

'It seems like Rufus is determined to go up against Horace at any cost.

If Chester invests in the Tang Group, wouldn't he end up losing everything?

What is happening between Chester and Rufus?' he wondered.

Clark initially thought that Chester would align with Rufus. However, now it looked like Rufus was the one who was unwilling to co-operate with Chester.

'No! If this continues, Charlie is going to get suspicious of what I said!' Clark thought.

Amanda, too, was watching the TV beside him. With a contemptuous look on her face, she scoffed, "Your excuses don't seem to be very convincing. You want Rufus to get out, but it's clear that his loyalty still lies with the Dark Night Group."

To say that Amanda was dissatisfied with the fact that she was being held here against her wishes, would be an understatement. As a result, when she found the opportunity to humiliate Clark, she did not pass up on it.

"What the hell do you know? You're dumber than a box of rocks!"

Clark's face darkened as he snapped at Amanda.

Feeling satisfied, Amanda sneered and then went back upstairs to her room.

She had just changed into a gorgeous dress thinking that she was going to go out tonight. The dress she wore accentuated her womanly features and she topped it off with a white jacket made of fox's fur.

As she climbed the stairs, Clark gazed at her back and thought of something.

He got up and quickly rushed towards Amanda. Without a word of warning, he suddenly picked her up in his arms.

"What are you doing?"

Amanda was stunned by Clark's suddenness.

"What do you think I want to do?"

A sinister smirk made its way onto his face. Clark's smile was the smile of the devil in Amanda's eyes!
