"Bitch, what the hell were you doing?"

Clark snarled at Amanda, his face twisting in rage.

Amanda covered her swollen cheek, and the scorching pain was killing her.

"I've changed my mind," she uttered.

Her response only irritated Clark more.

"Why didn't you tell me before? You did this on purpose to embarrass me, didn't you?"

Clark stretched out to hold Amanda's neck and pushed her against the wall.

"Amanda, I'm telling you—you better testify against Cassandra once we go back to the trial!"

Clark was so furious that he was grinding his teeth as he leaned over Amanda.

"No!" Amanda managed to get a word out.

She found it difficult to breathe with Clark's hands gripping around her neck. She grabbed his hands trying to get them off but she was too weak.

Clark was sent into further outrage when Amanda said no and he continued tightening his grip around her neck.

"Don't make me repeat myself. Tell the judge what I told you to tell him. Do you really think you can get away with this after leaving me high and dry? Rufus wouldn't let you get away with anything. He'll fight you on this, I assure you that. You set Cassandra up to ruin her name. If you withdraw the lawsuit, you'll be the victim," Clark said through gritted teeth.

Amanda's face was losing color as she was getting suffocated.

She grabbed Clark by the collar and grasped it tightly. Tears were welling up in her eyes because she didn't want to die like this.

Clark ruthlessly stared Amanda down even as she looked like she was fearing for her life.

"As long as Rufus gets fired from Dark Night Group and I get what I want, I will divorce you and give those things back to you. The premise is that you must listen to me. Otherwise, I will not spare you and your father. I heard that your father is very sick and he had a physician come and check on him. Now he has to take medicines. Even if I poison him, no one will suspect me."

His mouth twisted into a sinister sneer. He looked like a ruthless demon from hell.

Amanda's eyes dilated with fear.

Clark loosened his grip. He looked satisfied watching Amanda holding her neck desperately and coughing loudly.

After a while, Amanda eventually stopped coughing. However, her throat was still constricted despite she feeling better.

"Shame on you, Clark!"

Amanda cried, glaring at

Jean Wen sacrificed herself for family interests. Before her husband divorced her, she made every effort to please him.

"You are inexperienced in bed," he said coldly.

"You! Give that land to my family, or I won't agree to divorce," Jean replied furiously.

"Fine. It is exactly what I am thinking about," he sneered.

ding still at the end of the corridor.

Since he could only see her back, he didn't know what she was doing.

Rufus made his way to her.

"What are you doing there, Cassandra? Did you get lost?"

His voice made the three pause.

Amanda was still deciding and Clark was watching her closely.

When they heard Rufus's voice, they instinctively looked out the door to see what was happening.

They saw someone walking and suddenly, Cassandra spoke.

"No... Nothing. I was just walking around."

Clark and Amanda could hear Cassandra's footsteps dying away.

"All right. Court will resume in a while,"

Rufus said softly, fondling her hair.

"All right. Let's go back,"

Cassandra said, hastily grabbing Rufus's arm.

She didn't want Rufus to know what was going on behind that door where a troubled Amanda and an evil Clark were discussing their fates.

'If Rufus ever found out that it was Amanda who killed the baby, I don't even want to image what he would end up doing to her, ' Cassandra thought to herself.

Amanda heaved a sigh of relief and her body relaxed when she heard the footsteps seemingly walking away.

But Clark still looked like an angry bulldog. 'Court's starting soon and Amanda still hasn't decided yet.'

"So, what is it, Amanda? You want to continue being the famous pianist that you are or do you want to become a loser? It's up to you, my dear,"

Clark taunted.

'Amanda's a proud woman. She has worked so hard to get to where she is now. She'd rather die than watch that all vanish, ' he thought to himself.
