Stella got curious. "You seem to have the upper hand in your family. It looks like pregnancy has its own benefits, and one of them is the excessive respect."

However, Stella's words pissed her off even more. "Stella, I didn't earn my respect because of my pregnancy. I have been the boss of my family from the very beginning," she spoke, gritting her teeth, trying hard not to get overwhelmed by the anger.

Stella coaxed Cassandra for a while before they hung up. After that, she tapped her chest, and took a few deep breaths. She felt much better but she didn't know what would happen next between Rufus and Cassandra.

Due to the hormonal changes that came with the pregnancy, Cassandra had become very impatient and irritable.

Rufus received a call from Cassandra not much later. Something told him it wasn't a casual call.

"Are you busy right now?" Cassandra asked, knowing that he was at work.

Coldly, Rufus answered, "No, I'm not."

He was actually sitting in the meeting room with a number of employees. This was a very important meeting. They didn't expect Rufus to take a call right in the middle of such a meeting. Especially because he was someone who always behaved strictly and responsibly.

What was more, he even lied about not being busy right now.

Cassandra started to question him after confirming that he wasn't busy at the moment.

"Where did you go yesterday?"

Glancing at the staff quietly, Rufus stood up and walked to a corner covertly.

"It was my assistant's birthday yesterday. She invited me to her birthday party, so I went to her house."

Cassandra fell silent. Winnie's face popped in her mind.

She didn't like the lady a lot. Finding that Rufus was involved in a rumor with her made her

"You're my wife in name only, on paper only. My heart and love will never be yours."

Edward made it clear to Daisy that she was nothing to him. They were both victims of family greed -- the marriage was arranged for them.

Six years passed. She remained quiet, gaining a reputation in the army as a tough-as-nails colonel. When she walked into his life again, Edward fell in love with this woman...

oice.

"Cassandra, wake up...or I'm going out for a date with someone else," Rufus said, smiling covetously.

Surprisingly, Cassandra opened her eyes the exact moment Rufus finished speaking.

"That's betrayal!" Rufus didn't know whether to laugh or cry hearing the first thing that came out of her mouth when she woke up.

"I didn't mean it. I just wanted to wake you up for lunch," Rufus explained to her patiently, caressing her head gently.

Cassandra didn't want to listen to his justification. "Don't lie! I know you meant it! Tell me how many women you've dated behind my back!" Rufus was speechless.

He pulled her cheeks. "What are you talking about? Also, aren't you starving? The baby must be hungry. Let's eat."

Cassandra stood glaring at him. She was about to say something but her stomach started to growl quite loudly.

She got embarrassed as Rufus stared at her belly. The entire atmosphere became awkward.

Suddenly, Cassandra lost her head. She stomped to the dining room, determined to calm her stomach down with food.

The only person who was happy in the room was Edith, who was so thrilled to see Cassandra eating so much.
