Cassandra laughed in a bitter manner. "So you've been tolerating me? Rufus, I'm so sorry to know that you, the president of TY Group, have had to be tolerant of my temper when I'm pregnant. Of course, that's my fault!"

Gradually, Cassandra's laughter faded. Her mouth got twisted in a helpless sort of way, rendering a coldness to her face. "Rufus, let me tell you a good news. From now on, you don't have to tolerate me. That need is over for you."

"What are you trying to tell me?" Rufus couldn't believe what he had heard. "Cassandra, do you want to divorce me?"

Before she could even answer that question, Rufus's head spun internally. She was driving him mad. Really mad.

He held Cassandra tightly in his arms. He used all his strength to hug her, as if he was afraid she would escape and run away again.

He breathed quickly, lowered his head and kissed her hard. He pushed his tongue into her mouth, trying to make her stay, make her see how much he loved her.

Cassandra dug her nails into his back, yet she was unable to push him away. Rufus didn't plan to stop, as if those nails didn't hurt him at all.

The air became thicker with the smell of sweat and the heat that their bodied radiated. Rufus's hands started to explore her body. Suddenly, he happened to get a look at what she was wearing. He had never seen that dress on her. He could guess with no doubt that it was gifted by Harry.

She managed to calm herself down and walked around the bedroom, looking for anything that could be used as a tool to unlock the door.

To her surprise, she was able to open the door before Rufus even got home.

Cassandra rushed into the closet and changed her clothes, took some money from her purse, then left the house.

Outside, it was windy. She buried her face in her clothes. She stared into the dark night, feeling completely alone. Her mind was filled with thoughts of what she could do about the situation she and Rufus were in.

The more she thought, the messier her mind got. She raised her head to walk ahead, but it occurred to her that she didn't even know where she was anymore.

After walking a while, she came across a hotel. Cassandra decided to book a room for herself so she headed toward the entry.

Right outside the hotel door, there was an old man selling wontons. The aroma filled the air around her, rendering it impossible for her to move past the stall.
