Chapter 73 - Trouble Coming to Him

When Dana Edward came to work in the afternoon, she walked past the milk tea shop and bought an extra cup of milk tea.

After arriving in the office, she placed this cup of milk tea in front of Alger.

Alger was shocked. He then looked at Dana Edward in confusion and asked, “Every new employee is treated to a cup of milk tea? Are people in your company this friendly?”

After hearing Alger’s voice, the suspicion in Dana Edward’s heart grew even stronger. This voice was totally the same as that of the person who helped her previously.

Thinking of this, Dana Edward looked at Alger and asked directly, “Did you help me when I was robbed?”

“What are you talking about? I don’t understand,” Alger replied without hesitation.

He didn’t want to attract too much attention. If he had known that Browning Adams gave people who had contact with Dana Edward a hard time previously, Alger might not have chosen to speak to Dana Edward when he got here.

Alger pretended like he didn’t understand and he asked, “You were robbed? When?”

Seeing Alger’s confused look, Dana Edward also started doubting if her guess was correct or not.

Was Alger not the person at that time?

However, that person’s voice was too similar to Alger’s.

Dana Edward had been working here for a long time and she had never met someone with Alger’s voice, so Dana Edward frowned and thought that the person at that time was definitely Alger.

But she didn’t know why Alger wasn’t willing to admit it.

Alger had no idea what Dana Edward was thinking in her mind. He only looked at Dana Edward and said, “Is this cup of milk tea for me?”

“Yes, it’s for you!” Dana Edward said.

Alger frowned and said, “No, thank you. I’ve just started working here today. I’d be embarrassed to let you buy me milk tea.”

“It’s okay. It’s the tradition of our office!” Dana Edward said casually.

Seeing Dana Edward say that, Alger couldn’t reject her anymore. He nodded and said, “Alright, thank you.”

“Of course!” Dana Edward’s smile looked very sweet.

However, all this was seen by Browning Adams far away. When he saw this scene, Browning Adams’ eyes were full of jealousy.

He looked at a person next to him and said, “Go ask that kid to come to me!”

This new guy needed a lesson. Did he not know that Dana Edward was the woman that he loved?!

While Alger was drinking the milk tea, someone suddenly stood next to him.

Alger frowned as he looked at this man in confusion and asked, “Do you need help with anything?”

“I don’t need your fucking help!” The man said with a sullen expression, “Our brother wants to see you!”

Dana Edward looked a bit pale when she saw this man. When Alger noticed Dana Edward’s expression, he kind of knew what was going on.

It seemed that the brother that this man mentioned was Browning Adams that Fielding Taylor told him about before!

Alger sighed silently in his mind. He had decided not to be too involved with Dana Edward. And yet, he still got himself into trouble.

“I know.” Alger nodded and said with a smile, looking a bit kind. However, a hint of impatience flashed through his eyes.

Seeing this, Dana Edward hurriedly grabbed Alger’s arm and persuaded him while frowning, “Alger, don’t go.”

“It’s okay,” Alger looked at Dana Edward and said. After that, he looked at his person with a beaming smile on his face and followed him out of the office.

Dana Edward was a bit anxious in her mind, but she didn’t know how to help. Men she used to have contact with before were all called out by Browning Adams and they had since ignored her after they came back.

Dana Edward was also very frustrated with this, so she normally only had female friends around her. Alger was new here and he didn’t know about this, which was why the two of them talked.

Dana Edward originally wanted to thank Alger for last night, but judging from the current situation, Alger might not talk to her again when he returned.

Thinking of this, Dana Edward sighed silently, looking a bit gloomy.

Alger came to the corridor of the office with this person. Looking at the man in the front before him, he guessed that he must be Browning Adams.

After saying this, he waved at everyone behind him. In an instant, the men behind him all walked forward while moving their fists.

Alger sighed and said quickly, “I’m new. I didn’t know Dana Edward was yours. Just let me go this time.”

“If you didn’t drink your milk tea, I could still spare you, but it’s impossible now!” Browning Adams said coldly as he waved again.

Seeing that these guys’ fists were about to hit him, Alger quickly said, “Wait!”

“What again?” Browning Adams came forward and asked while looking at Alger impatiently, “You damn kid, what exactly do you want to say?!”

“This is the office after all. If we fight in the office, you’ll be affected as well.” Alger looked at Browning Adams and said with a smile, “I know that you’re upset in your mind. If you want to vent your anger, why don’t we go to a place without people?”

Browning Adams had never thought that Alger would say something like this. He didn’t beg, instead he even thoughtfully asked Browning Adams to find somewhere without people to give him a lesson, so he wouldn’t get into trouble.

Browning Adams grunted. Thinking of his father’s warning not to make trouble in the company, he waved his hand as he looked at Alger and said in disdain, “You kid is quite sensible. In that case, I’ll let you suffer less physical pain!”

After saying that, he directly turned around and walked out of the office. A hint of disdain appeared in the eyes of men around Browning Adams when they looked at Alger. Apparently, they despised Alger’s flattering look.

“Don’t you like drinking milk tea? I’ll give you some more!”

After saying this, Browning Adams directly reached his foot out and looked at Alger complacently, totally assuming that Alger wouldn’t resist at all.
