“Was I just any woman?”
My shoulders slumped as I felt sorry with Ares’ determined rejection.
“You took me all the way to the hotel and saw everything that I took off.”
At the time, I had been so drunk that my memory was a bit hazy, but I was sure I had been in the hotel room wearing only a slip. As soon as I pointed it out, Ares’ face slowly began to turn from sour into embarrassment.
“You said you liked me then, but now you’re throwing me away because you’ve lost interest?”
The silent employees who were silently wiping glass, pretending not to listen in on our conversation, one by one opened their mouths in disbelief at what they heard.
“Wow, our boss is dog trash…”
“Didn’t he say he usually meets girls who are similar to him? That girl looks innocent just by looking at her.”
“I mean, there’s no covering it anymore. As expected, he’s our boss, the King of Garbage.”
Whispers and low hushed conversations were made back and forth.
Whether the reputation of Red House was terrible or great, the employees didn’t stop whispering despite Ares’ stiff expression.
‘Why is he staring at me when it’s his people who are cursing him?’
When I pointed at his frustrated lips, Ares wiped his dry face with one hand, and then pulled me by the arm.
“Come with me for a second,” he said as he was dragging me out.
“I’m a guest. I paid the entrance fee and came in.”
Seemingly, he was trying to kick me out, so I waved my ticket at his face in a hurry. But then he just picked me up as if he didn’t want to bother explaining.
“Oh my god!”
I grabbed his shirt as he easily lifted me as if I was as light as a ragdoll, and I could hear the enthusiastic cheering of the bar staff behind us.
“Oh, my lady! The boss must have finally gone over!”
“Way to go, miss!”
Ares gnashed his teeth, and I could tell from the veins that was about to pop from his neck that the dismissal of those employees was imminent.
* * *
Ares put me down at a staff space which was connected to the second floor of the house. Among them, the polished marble floor looked luxurious as if it were a place that you could only go in and out once.
How much was all this?
The golden eagle sculpture decorating the wall was distracting me.
I rolled my eyes at the thought that I could buy Lucas if I could sell something like this, but Ares, who stood crookedly with one leg, spoke to me and got my attention.
“My lady, what is your real goal?”
“What?”
“Why do you keep on following me? Do you need money?”
I frowned at Ares’ question.
‘No, do I really look like a beggar?’
Why do people keep asking if I need money?
Of course, I needed money, but I wanted something else from him.
“My goal is to sleep with Ares,” I answered him frankly.
I believed I didn’t have to hide my intentions from him from now on.
“Sleep with me…” he repeated like a parrot, a stiff expression on his face.
“Oh, not just sleeping. Sex-”
I was about to add a line just in case he misunderstood but Ares cut me off with a straight face.
“Okay, okay, shut up.”
Whoa.
Ares let out a deep sigh and leaned against the wall as he searched his pockets. I thought he’d get a cigarette or something, but what he took out was a lollipop instead.
‘Was he quitting smoking? Or could it be that it’s a candy with narcotics?’
“My lady.”
“Yes.”
I didn’t ask regarding Ares’ candy and simply nodded.
“I know you have a crush on me. But I don’t want you… I can’t do that with you.”
I tilted my head to the side as flat-out rejected me again.
“Why?”
I couldn’t comprehend his rejection.
I didn’t know if Ares had already met Jian and had been attacked, but I think they haven’t met yet.
Looking at the likability status window and the way he treated me, I didn’t think he had any feelings for me at all.
‘No, what the hell is wrong with him? It’s not that he didn’t like me, and he surely hasn’t dedicated his virginity to Jian at all.’
If he’d been a normal man, not Ares, he’d have understood differently…
