July 19, 20X2 (Sunday Night)

Various Places

The sky was dark, and the only light that can be seen where those that came from the street lamps. The streets were eerily silent, and only a couple of men and women were around. Most of them were Yang and his friends' men in disguise as civilians.

"Why did I have to go with you?" Hao Ren hissed as he exited the large black van while still keeping his eyes on his laptop's monitor.

Yang and Chang Min looked at each, letting Alexandre handle the matters of their additional personnel. Hao Ren was only with them as the communication hub, truthfully. Alexandre settled fo a joking answer, "You are easier to boss around."

"...And bulky enough to use as a meat shield." Chang Min couldn't help but quip. Hao Ren was just that gullible. No wonder he was fooled by an obvious gold-digger. This kind of man was a good subject but a bad leader.

"What?" Hao Ren looked at the three dragons. His head snapping at their direction before he fumed, "Oi, you two better be joking!"

Yang had to control himself from reacting. His temper hasn't been great ever since the kidnapping, and although he appreciated his friends trying to lighten up the mood, it gets annoying for a while. Besides that fact, Hao Ren really was that easy to make fun of.

Quickly surveying the area, Yang settled in a small apartment of one of the buildings that overlooked the majority of the port. In his prime view was the large foreign boat that had once escaped his notice. It angered him that in that boat were his children, trapped and scared.

His eyes never leaving the boat, Yang felt his phone vibrate. He answered the call with a voice that hid something more, "Father-in-law."

"You sent the majority of your people here." Jerome Bonaparte's voice at the end of the phone sounded deeper than it normally was, but Yang could feel the displeasure it carried.

"Uncle Wu is sure that they will target the Manor." Yang promptly replied. His temper may be bad, but he needed to respect this man, or else he either dies by his hands if not Mei Li's.

"You need to prioritize the rescue of my grandchildren." Jerome continued with a smaller voice, "These guys you sent are just amateur too."

"I sent you Hao Chen. He's good." Yang retorted.

"One guy," Jerome taunted.

Irked, Yang taunted by using the man that Jerome doesn't get along with, "Uncle Wu is there."

Jerome visible snorted, and said, "Arcadia members are sly. This guy might be the most annoying of them all. Don't underestimate them. As much as I want to kill you for laying your dirty paws on my daughter, remember, you have three more newborns waiting for you. I live with regret everyday for not being there for my children. I hope you do not make the same mistakes I did."

It was only when Alexandre came in to change shift with him, so he can nap and rest that he put down his phone. Yang closed his eyes, planning to be stronger tomorrow, so he was ready for an all-out kill.

Meanwhile, In Zhao Manor, Wu Tian Li grinned when Jerome locked his phone after his talk with Yang. The French National glared at the Chinese, almost seething, making the grin larger.

"You've grown. You've got feelings." Wu Tian Li teased.

Jerome quickly jabbed Wu Tian Li with a punch aimed at his Solar Plexus, a place where he knows would hurt like a bitch. It may not be as deadly as some stories suggest, but as long as it delivers pain then all's good.

Sensing the danger, Wu Tian Li merely took a couple of steps back to avoid the strike. His grin, couldn't possibly get any wider. It has been a while since they have seen each other. The last time was when Xue Mu Lan was still alive.

"Really? Even after all these decades, You still can't hit me?" Wu Tian Li sniggered.

They were about to start their own brand of teasing when a sudden hit on the back of their heads made them stop to nurse their own hard heads. Hao Chen's eyes were full of mirth as he watches Aunt Qinyang started to lecture the two grown men.

Ever since knowing the history of the Xue's and knowing the relations they had with the Zhao family, Hao Chen couldn't believe that something this magnitude hasn't spread yet to the other elites in the city. If his elder brother had not made such a mistake, Hao Chen would have never known. He would have never had what he has now.

Hao Chen sighed.

If only Yue was also here.

In the Hospital, Dr. Zhang Li Xi slowly slipped into the room where Uncle Yu Rong was in and started to observe the monitor of his heart. He gently patted the shoulders of Father Zhao in comfort as he reassured, "He will recover."

The smile, that was meant to be his reply, did not reach Father Zhao's eyes.

Li Xi almost sighed out loud. He never had brothers or sisters so he would never understand what Father Zhao is feeling. Deciding to try again, Li Xi said, "Yang and the others will end this terrorist group and it'll be the same as before."

This time Father Zhao replied with a murmur, "You and your friends are no problem. I've seen and know how you dragons can roar, but there are some things that are scarier than dragons."

Li Xi grew curious, "like what?"

Father Zhao's eyes glinted from the reflected light, and as he stood up, he muttered, "You, Dragons, can never compare to the Deathless". Li Xi's mouth open in agape as Uncle Yu Rong's steady sleeping heartbeat slowly speed up. The patient was was near death was awake!

Father Zhao laid his gentle hands on his brother's arm, to let him know that he was not alone.

"The children..." Uncle Yu Rong asked. Li Xi, already shocked, grew more speechless.

"Kidnapped," Father Zhao answered immediately.

"Qinyang?"

"At the Manor. Hui Ying and the rest thinks they'll go for the heirlooms first..." Father Zhao continued to supply the man with information.

Uncle Yu Rong nodded and safely slept. Jerome Bonaparte and Wu Tian Li, The Deathless Duo was reunited.
