Beautiful lights from the fireworks colored the night sky.
Everyone from all across the continent could see the big fireworks that were going on the hills of Vermillion Bird Peak. To some, it seemed like a distant star while to some it appeared as a small firefly.
Nevertheless, everyone who was concerned about the Annual Tournament could recognize the flickering of the lights on the night sky as the bacon for the start of the tournament.
Like thousands of eyes that were staring at the beautiful fireworks, there was a youngster who was also closely observing the fireworks in the sky, the beautiful colors reflecting on his eyes.
Mu Ting looked at the fireworks that were going on in the top of the hill. It was also the place that was going to be his battlefield. From the window of the inn he was in, he stared at the golden fireworks without bothering to blink his eyes.
"Master, are you not going to sleep?" Fuzzy, who had finally gotten her freedom from inside the space ring asked as she floated around the room with a cheerful aura.
Although, her master had to seal the entire room with magic talisman to prevent any sort of accident that could happen, including her. She was one of the biggest accidents at the moment.
Mu Ting snapped back to reality when he heard Fuzzy call out to him.
"Not needed, I will cultivate for a bit," Mu Ting said as he withdrew from the window. Closing the blinds of the window, he went inside the room and made himself comfortable on the bed.
"Come here," he gestured to the spirit that was still roaming here and there in the room.
As if pulled by an invisible force, Fuzzy felt herself being pulled towards her master. This was the absolute command that no contracted spirit could deny after they had enter soul binding contract.
In exchange for the human spirit that provided them a shelter and something to feed on to nourish their spiritual powers, contracted spirit had to obey everything that their master said to them.
"Whoaaaa~~" she cried out in surprise as she landed on the bed with a slight thud.
"Why am I here?" she asked him, a bit confused.
"I thought you were going to cultivate, why I am needed here?" she cried out.
Before Mu Ting even had a chance to say anything to explain why he had called her, she cut him off in middle as she expressed her shock upon conjuring her own theory and hypothesis.
"Don't tell me…" the purple spirit that looked like a mass of purple cloud shook in terror.
"We are going to sleep together?" she asked in a bit trembling voice that was filled with shock.
"….."
"Yes," Mu Ting nodded his head as he clicked his tongue.
Well, he was not going to sleep though.
"Huh!!!!"
Fuzzy cried out in panic when she heard him simply say yes and no more!!
Ignoring the cries of the stupid spirit of his whose mind was of a 16 years old teenage girl, he closed his eyes. Everything around him went silent and al he could hear was his own breathe and the flow of his qi in his body.
He had entered this state many times, so he could do it without any problem this time.
"Shh," he whispered inside his mind and called out to Fuzzy who was still throwing the tantrum. Once again, as if in absolute command, Fuzzy stopped speaking and calmed down.
Following the suite of her master, she too closed off all of her senses and focused on the small thread that was linking her to her master.
Just as she was watching, the thread split into various thinner strings and started to surround both of their consciousness. She watched in surprise and curiosity at the bright strands of energy that was surrounding them.
Meanwhile, in the room of the inn just opposite to their inn, a boy of around the same age was also doing the same. He was cultivating in his own room but there was something weird about the thing he was doing.
Le Lao Ling made sure that the door of the room was properly locked before he sat down on the couch. He brought out a small black pouch that was safely hidden inside his spatial ring.
"Ok, here goes nothing," he sighed as he took out three different colored bracelets. These were the same bracelet that he had snatched away from his little sister, Le Fang Ling.
He placed the three bracelets on the table right in front of him and grinned. He picked up the golden colored one and closed his eyes. He transferred some of his qi inside the bracelet, making it glow. There were some weirs inscriptions on the bracelet in some kind of ancient language, of which he had no idea about.
But he was damn sure that he had seen those somewhere in the documents that were in the study room of his father.
"Mipa-ang-uan?" he tried reading the letters but in vain. He only tried to guess what the letters could mean. But despite failing at his attempt to read it, eh was not sad or discouraged.
Instead, he was clam and had a sneer on his face.
"I will be meeting her someday during this tournament after all, there would be day when I can make her read them," he snickered as he was sure that his good for nothing bastard sister of his could read these weird symbols.
"That fool doesn't even know how valuable these bracelets are," he chuckled as he looked at the bright light emitting from the bracelet.
"Pure Yin energy," he murmured as he held the bracelet right in front of his eyes. He really wanted to cultivate using these magical artifacts that seemed to have immense amount of infinite yin energy.
But for some reason, the bracelet always rejected him and his qi. The longest amount of time he could make his qi and the bracelet resonate was for a mere 1 minute.
He was not even finished thinking when he suddenly felt a surge of electric spark running through his arm to the head. Even his inner meridians and vessels felt the burning because of this.
He immediately let go of the bracelet which tumbled down on the table right in front of him with a clinking sound.
"Cough, ughh," he cried out in agony as he felt his meridians and veins burning due to the rejection and repulsion of the bracelet. He covered his mouth with his palm but it still was not able to block the blood from coming out.
He scrambled through the room and rummaged through one of his bags.
He found a red looking pill box, which was the heaven grade meridian nourishing pill that cost him around 2000 gold pieces for on bottle. It was made with ingredients that were rich in yang essence.
He took out one of the pill and threw it inside his mouth without hesitating. He sat down on the floor and tried to calm down his qi that was running amok in his bodies due to the external influence form before.
The burning pain inside his body finally subsided when the pill started taking effect. He was engulfed in an array of golden light filled with yang energy. The pain and damage that was in his body was caused by the yin energy that the bracelet had.
The yang energy countered the yin energy that was still causing pain inside his channels.
"That's much better," he finally grunted as he wiped the huge droplets of sweat on his forehead. But the more he wiped, the messier he got and he could not help but growl angrily as he threw away the pill bottle under the bed.
He could also not deny the fact that he stunk! When he got pain, it hurt and it made him sweat a lot. When he sweated a lot, he stunk like a cow poop. Also, when he stunk like that, he had to bath but he hated bathing.
"Damn, no wonder I hate pain," he shrugged as he greedily looked at the three bracelets sitting on the table. He was determined to settle things with Le Fang ling for once and for all.
He needed the ownership to those bracelets anyhow!!
With a huff, he stood up from the ground and went towards the bracelets. He picked up the bracelets from the table and admired tem for a bit.
"You will soon be mine," he scoffed before placing them inside the pouch and securing them with enchant. He then kept it inside the secret chamber inside is spatial ring where the chance of finding it was very low, even if his spatial ring got stolen, ever.
"Little sister, be ready to welcome your big brother," he snickered as he looked at the tall mountain in front of him where his sister currently was.
….
"So, Lilith, tell me what you think." Le Fang Ling said as she threw the parchment that was written to her by her dad on the table right in front of Lilith. She had waited to read the letter as she wanted to read it together with Lilith.
Now she was inside the domain once again with the letter in her hand.
Lilith was silent throughout the time Le Fang ling read the letter. Even when she was finished she was still silent.
"Lili-I mean Mom!" Le fang Ling called out to her once again.
"Oh sweetie, you worry too much," she finally said with a smile. She had felt something really peculiar right now and she knew exactly what it was.
"Just go and meet him for my sake as well," she winked playfully at her daughter as she curled up her lips in a smile.
