At one of the deserted corners of the stadium in the Vermillion Bird Peak, there was a flash of a bright array of light. It appeared for a bit but before anyone could notice, it disappeared. The three of them appeared back at the stadium exactly where they had disappeared before.
"We are back!" Le Fang Ling said as she looked around at the familiar place. "And you are back too," she said as she stared at the tiny white snake that had wound itself around her arm.
Seeing that no one had noticed her absence, she was relieved. After resting for 2 hours to regain the lost stamina that she used in advance, they had left the dimension.
All three of them started walking towards their seat, well, technically it was just Le fang Ling considering Nagina was being carried by her and Feng Po Po was flying.
She huffed as she finally made it back to her seat. Heaving a deep sigh of relief, she relaxed all of her tensed muscles and nerves.
Teleporting when she was in a crowd was somewhat nerve-wracking.
"The second match ended already?" Le Fang Ling exclaimed in surprise. Elder Shen was clearing the arena once more while An Lin was jumping around flexing his muscles. She could deduce that An Lin won the match with another student from her brother's sect.
"Kyaaa!! An Lin Gege!! Senior brother, I love you!!"
The whole place echoed with the name of An Lin- majority of the cheering squads were the girls from her grade and also a few senior sisters.
"…."
"Why are women all stupid? Only running after handsome face and body?" she sighed as she placed one of her legs on top of the other.
"Host, your shoes…" Nagina who had come back to her snake form looked at Le Fang Ling's feet in shock.
"Huh? What about my shoes?" Le Fang Ling turned her attention to her feet. Feng Po Po who was playing with a flower she plucked back at the jade dimension too was curious about what had happened and turned to look at her feet.
Le fang Ling: "…."
She looked at her right foot that only had a sock with a deadpan expression. Since the sock was thick enough, she did not realize she had lost her shoes. However, Feng Po Po found this situation a bit hilarious.
"Pwahahahaa, you were wearing only one shoe all this time?!" She pointed her finger at Le fang Ling while laughing. Tears spilled down from her eyes as she continued to laugh like a mad man.
"…."
"Stop it, Feng Po Po, you are only making me feel bad," Le Fang Ling sighed as she buried her face in the palm. This made her realize why the people were looking at her as if she was a circus clown when she was coming back to her seat.
"It's just shoes, what's the big deal anyway?" she flipped her hair dramatically to show she was not "concerned about anything" and especially that the shoe was not a big deal.
"Cough, even Cinderella was once in just one shoe okay?" She said with a smug smile on her face.
"…."
"…."
"Who is Cinderella anyway?" Feng Po Po asked with a curious gaze. She had never heard of this weird name. "Cinderella? Sounds like a weird name," she giggled at the name.
Nagina searched through her database.
"She is a princess it seems, some beautiful fairy princess, who married a prince. In other words, it's a bunch of fairy tales, "Nagina said with a sigh.
"Ahh, sounds interesting," Feng Po Po had never heard any sort of fairy tale. All she got to listen to was a bunch of mantras and spells and things about the origin of gods and such.
"Tell me more, why did you mention Cinderella?" Looking a bit excited she sat hovered above Le Fang Ling. She wanted to hear more about this Cinderella girl.
"Later tonight, now we focus on the match," Le Fang Ling smiled. She felt like a mom babysitting two children at this point.
"You can say now as well, An Cheng's match won't happen anytime soon," Nagina said with a shrug. She knew her host was waiting for An Cheng's match. She knew her host too well.
"Cough, I'm not waiting for the match only…" Le Fang Ling tried to justify herself but she only got more flustered. After all, what Nagina said was also true. She wanted to see her senior sister fight like she did when she first met her. She looked so beautiful when she used her technique to fly in the air.
"Ahem, host," Nagina pointed towards Feng Po Po who was looking at Le Fang Ling with teary eyes. She seemed to want to hear the story. But Le Fang ling wanted to wait when the time was appropriate and this time was not the right time.
"Anyway, no Cinderella right now," she shrugged and sat silent meaning there was no more place left for negotiation.
"You are a mean host, it's just a story," Nagina felt bad for Feng Po Po and cough, herself. She wanted to have her host narrate the story for her too.
"Indeed she is mean, it's just a story, isn't it?"
"You two!! Will you sto-" Le fang Ling wanted to say something but her words stopped midway when she felt something was not right. The voice that spoke right now did not belong to Feng Po Po and neither did it belong to Nagina.
It was not hers!!
Suddenly, she felt it! She felt something, some sort of concentrated energy seated beside her. It was a strong force!
She got on guard and in reflex, she immediately left the place she was sitting on and maintained a distance. Looking closely, she saw that the empty seat right next to her was occupied by someone.
It was a dark-skinned girl with a high ponytail and dark brown eyes. She looked tanned with a bit of muscle bulging in her arms. Surprisingly, they suited her frame and made her look intimidating as well as alluring.
"Hello!" the stranger noticed Le Fang Ling looking at her and smiled. Her smile was wide and beautiful-it looked harmless.
"Who are you?" Le fang Ling asked. She did not feel the presence of the girl until she spoke. Not even Nagina or Feng Po Po could notice her presence until the very last minute. As for her smile, it looked like a trap.
There was nothing friendly about that smile of hers!!
"Ouch, that hurt. You are rude," the girl made a crying face as she looked at Le fang Ling, a bit hurt about her treatment.
"I see no reason why I should be friendly to you when you appeared like that," Le fang Ling snickered as she maintained her guard. Meanwhile, Nagina was trying to find some information on the girl in front of them but to no avail. There was nothing she could see about her.
<System Error!>
<System error!>
<Target is not valid! No information can be found.>
A barrage of notifications appeared on the screen tab in front of her. This only could mean one of the two things.
Either the system was malfunctioning or there was some sort of divine protection on the girl in front of her. Considering Nagina was working just fine before, she assumed the cause was the latter.
"You, why are you here?" Le Fang Ling stared at her to try and see where she was from. However, she had no fixed dress she was wearing that resembled the uniform of any sect.
'Is she from some random sect or is she some kind of rogue cultivator?' she tried to guess but she had nothing that was leading her on.
'Where is Feng Po Po?' Just then she thought about the wind maiden who was staying way too silent. If it had been another time, she would have started to either laugh or panic, like some silly girl. But she was doing neither.
She had disappeared as soon as the girl appeared. It brought about an uneasy emotion inside Le Fang Ling.
"I am here to meet you," the girl leaned back, her long silver hair glistening in the sun while her skin gave a delicious luster. "I thought you would recognize me at a glance, but you did not."
"You need to introduce yourself before you expect some to know you," Le fang Ling said sternly. The people were cheering for the match while in the arena; the two fighters were still busy punching each other.
"Just how much of a narcissist can you be?" Le fang Ling agreed that she indeed looked hot but that was seething else. Appearances can be deceiving and she knew it.
"You are too cautious," the girl stared at Le Fang Ling and Nagina who were sitting on her shoulder. There was a slight change in her eyes and voice but it was only for a brief.
"And here I thought the holder of the wind maiden was someone as stupid as her," the girl said with a sigh.
???
Le Fang Ling was shocked when she heard the strange girl mention Feng Po Po with her mouth.
"Wait, how do you know Feng Po Po?"
"Feng Po Po? Oh, so that's her name…sounds stupid but well never mind," the new girl chuckled as he sized up Le fang Ling from top to bottom. "I just came here to listen to Cinderella; you changed it to a boring interrogation."
"What?"
'She knows Cinderella too?' Le fang Ling's heart sank.
"Until we meet again," the girl chuckled as she made a weird sign with her fingers. Her entire being started to get fuzzy ad before Le fang Ling could catch her, she had melted in the air.
'We will meet again, Cinderella.' This was the last thing she muttered before leaving.. In the place where she was, a green shoe was lying.
