"That is my gift to you," Master Yi Feng said with an unconcerned face as he looked at Le Fang Ling.
"Hmm?"
Le Fang Ling was a little taken aback when he said he was gifting such a precious treasure out of nowhere. It was only natural that she was a little confused as to why all of a sudden she was being gifted.
He saw the look on her face and heaved a heavy sigh of helplessness.
"Congratulations on your ordination as my disciple," he said with a quick smile on his face. After he was done with it, he swiftly turned around and stated walking.
"I think you proved yourself good enough to be my disciple, cough." He said without even turning to look back at her.
Le Fang Ling was silent for a while as she tried to digest the information that she just got.
"Did he say that he was going to take me in as my disciple?" she asked Nagina who was walking right next to her.
"Yes, affirmative!"
"Ohhh," Le Fang Ling nodded her head as she looked at the locket in her hand. She could feel the powerful energy it held with just holding it.
If it was not for her training and help from Lilith, she would have already extracted all of qi from there and sucked it off dry which was going to be detrimental to her as well as to the locket.
Still, she could feel the spiritual energy from the locket seeping in to her meridians in a very little amount.
"Wait! What??" She cried out in surprise when she finally digested and processed the information.
"You mean I passed the test?" she asked as she rushed to where the old man was walking and asked as she panted heavily.
"Yes!" He nodded his head nonchalantly.
"Yes you passed indeed." He confirmed the answer for her again though it was more like he was making sure he made the right decision by taking her in.
"O.O"
Le fang Ling was overjoyed upon hearing him say that she had passed the test although she had not a single idea as to how and why she passed the test.
"But master," she stopped walking as she felt a question emerge in her mind.
"I broke the sword and I did not even use it to win the fight," she paused for a bit before she continued speaking once again.
"But I still passed the test." She looked at him with eyes full of question.
"So?"
"So, I want to know what the real test was exactly. Was it as simple as winning the fight? Or where you seeing if I could make on spot decision and use my brain even in the moment of crisis?" she asked, looking more and more confused with each time.
Master Yi Feng: "….."
'You are thinking too much into this girl,' he thought as he continued walking while hearing her chatter in the back ground.
He had only wanted to see whether she was going to accept the duel or not. Honestly, he did not like complicating things or test.
He was a simple and straight man with simple ways of doing things.
He just did not tell her that beforehand since he did not think it was important.
But now, he was not telling her what the true test was! He could not do that after hearing what she had to say!
"Huh master? What was the test? What was the criteria and passing margin for the test?" Le Fang Ling showered him with questions. Now that he had acknowledged her as his disciple and she had recognized him as her master, she did not hold back with any question she had.
'I dug a grave for myself,' he sighed as he listened to all of her questions without interrupting her,
After she was done with her questions, he simply placed his hands on the top of her head and gave a light pat.
He lightly rubbed her hair and withdrew his hand with in a few second.
"You will know soon, cough." Master Yi Feng covered his mouth with his palm as he coughed. He brought down his hand to the beard and stared to stroke it.
"Master, when will we start training?" Le Fang Ling asked like a kid who was just joining the kindergarten. Well, she did try training on her own but there were things she wanted to learn from others.
Weapon spirit was something that she could never learn and know on her own until she got help from someone as experienced and good as master Yi Feng.
"I will let you know." He said after thinking for a while.
He too needed to prepare things for her to quickly grasp the concept of weapon spirit and all. Plus, he had also seen that her spiritual roots was five element based spiritual root and had a yin- yang body.
That also meant it was going to take him and her more time.
"Alright, this disciple will follow whatever you have to say." Le Fang Ling said with a light bow and smiled at him.
"When do you need to get back?" he asked after simply nodding his head at her remark. He was still having double thought on having a disciple after the betrayal he faced but.
'Maybe, she can be different.' He hoped in his heart.
Le Fang Ling thought about the time that was left for her and gasped in horror when she realized she had less than an hour to return back!
"I think I might be a little bit late…" she rubbed the back of her neck looking anxious. Walking back was definitely going to take her and Nagina more than an hour.
Not that she hated to walk or something like that, but she was relay scared of Elder Mo who was known to have a bad temper if things were not done the right way.
"Elder Mo, I hope he won't be angry about this," she thought as she rubbed her hands together nervously.
"Well, I think it's about time you go back to the sect." He said as he pointed at the locket.
"What about it?" She looked with a curious eyes at the locket and blinked her eyes twice thinking about it.
She knew it was a sacred treasure and all, but what it did! She had not a single idea on it.
"It's a portal you know." He said as he touched the jade with his finger.
Suddenly, a light greenish glow emitted from the jade on her hand and before anyone could figure out what was happening, the light engulfed them completely and all three of them disappeared in to thin air.
Since the place they were at was a silent place with not many people around, they would have totally fainted on the spot seeing three people disappearing on mid road.
Le Fang Ling had no idea as to what happened but when she finally opened her eyes, she found herself standing on top of a hill.
To be precise, it was the same hill where the boy called Zhang Wei had tried to attack her with a bow when she first arrived.
Standing at the top of the hill and looking down at the compound of the Eternal blossom sect with the disciple walking here and there, she felt a sense of relief.
It felt as if she had finally returned home.
"I see you have grown attached to this place," Master Yi Feng saw the look on her face and said with a light chuckle.
"Err, I guess.." she was embarrassed when she realized her face gave out what she was thinking.
"It feels nice to look at this scenery." She nodded her head as she held Nagina's wrist with her hand. She gave a light squeeze and winked at her before turning back to Master Yi Feng.
"By the way master, she is Nagina, a magical beast." She introduced Nagina to him. Since she was going to be his disciple, it was also highly necessary for him to know about Nagina.
After all Nagina was an important part of her soul and body.
"Hmm," he nodded his head lightly and looked at Nagina with a discerning eyes.
"I definitely know that she is not just a magic beast because she gives off different kind of soul energy," he said as he looked at Nagina and le Fang Ling back and forth.
"Since it seems that you are hiding her identity or maybe the time is not right, I will not ask you anything." He said as he straightened his robe.
"Just be careful," he said as he snapped his finger in the air.
A distortion in the space appeared right behind him which slowly grew larger until it was large enough to engulf him whole.
"There are many things in this world that are out of your understanding and knowledge," he said as she disappeared inside the portal.
"What about the training?" she looked at his transparent body and asked in a hurry.
"I will let you know when the right time is for the training."
