Chapter 119: Beast In The Cave (2)

"Okay, that will be enough!" An elderly voice echoed in the cave all of sudden.  The palm that was about to strike Le fang Ling paused in midair as if it was under some kind of spell.  Le fang Ling heard the voice and immediately recognized it.

She curled up her lips in a smile as she confirmed her guess.

"I knew it," she mumbled lightly as she nodded her head in relief.

It was indeed another test that she was put through by her master. How she knew? Well, the voice she heard was too easy for her to recognize as the one belonging to her master's.

With a low grunt, the beast stepped back with reluctance evident in its step and anger burning in its eyes. It purely hated Le Fang Ling for all the trouble she gave to him. Even though it had immense pride and unwillingness to go and do something to her, it could only obey the words of the person who just spoke.

After all, it was way too weaker than the person who ordered him to stop. If he was to become stubborn and do something else, something opposite from what the voice asked him, there was no way anything was going to prevent him from being purged to the depths of hell.

And it did not want that.

"WE WILL SEE THIS AGAIN, YOU PUNY HUMAN," The beast cried out in a low grunt as it looked at the floor, where his prey aka Le fang Ling was currently seated.

It was still dark, but with the hold in the fight they were having, some sort of stability appeared inside the cave. The roofs too stopped shaking now that the beast was no longer crying and throwing tantrum.

Looking like a ragged doll, the beast returned to  its hiding place with its ear drooped to the sideways, making him look extremely idiotic but cute as the same time. She watched the bear go and disappear in the shadows of the cave with a smile on her face.

"I must say, the beast was kind of cute," she said with a sad face looking at the back silhouette of the beast. She knew they were bound to cross path again sometime in future, so she tried to hide her disappointment as much as she could.

Shaking her head, she decided to stop thinking about it now.

"That was close," Le fang Ling whispered through her breathe as she stood up from the place she was sprawled on. She dusted off her butt and rest of her robes to get off the dirt from them.

She  turned towards to the source of the sound that had appeared out of nowhere.

"Master Yi Feng," she called out with respect as she bowed down. She could not see him but she could still sense his presence that had been hidden all along. She could also finally sense the presence of Nagina which she had lost before.

'She is fine,' she sighed in  relief as she thought about how worried she was about her. Well, indeed she was scared but knowing that this was a test helped her come up with various case scenarios that could mean she was alright.

"Oho, so you still remember me?" A low and old vice echoed in the cave.

"Of course I do," Le Fang Ling scrunched up her nose in disdain as she answered. There was absolutely no way that she was going to ever forget about him of all people for the sake of whom she went through some really big hurdles.

Picking a fight with stranger in a strange and remote place which seemed to be filled with thugs and hardcore fighters, giving out an embarrassing alias aka Pah Jama and even being suspected by Elder Mo of visiting someone rogue.

There were many things which she had done for the sake of getting a good impression to the old man. After all she had been through, was it fair that she forgot him? No way!!

"Junior, you…" Master Yi Feng wanted to say something more but he stopped midway. He was finally getting in the mood to take in a disciple despite promising himself that he was not going to get one. He had taken quite  a lot of time to prepare himself mentally, emotionally and physically for the training as her master.

To be honest, he was not sure he could be a good teacher. He was never the best at making people understand things or teaching them. He even wondered if there was any shortcoming in his teaching that made the first and the last disciple he took in to betray him. It was not much  but a trust once broken was hard to mend.

"Alright, let's get out of here." He said as he waved his hands. Immediately, the darkness that was shrouding the cave from the inside disappeared in the blink of an eye. There was no more darkness but a blinding light that illuminated the entire cave.

Well, but it was not a light to brighten the cave. It was momentary light and once it had disappeared, the cave went back to being empty and silent. The only alive and breathing creature was the red eyes beast that was in the cave, looking at the entrance of the cave with the glowing reddish eyes.

"WE WILL MEET AGAIN HUMAN!" A low rumble and grumble echoed in the tiny cave along with the sound of low grunting and gruffing.

Meanwhile, right outside the cave, there was a bright light and suddenly two people appeared out of the thin air and landed on the ground with a slight thud. By this point, Le fang Ling was already used to the feeling of being taken away and being dropped off by teleportation.

Since she had suddenly appeared at in a lighter place, she had to close her eyes upon being suddenly exposed to a wider and brighter range of light.

As she slowly got adjusted to the light, she half opened her eyes to look around with a bit of caution.

"Oh my," she gasped out in surprise at the sight she was seeing.

"This…" her voice trailed off as she turned around in complete 360 degree to look all around. Goofy smile appeared in her face by the time she was done looking around.

"Impressed?" Master Yi Feng asked with a little bit of pride in his voice.

"Mhm," Le fang Ling nodded her head in agreement as she continued gaping at the sight.

"This place is so good for training," she said while pointing to the densely populated jungle and stony hills that seemed to go on forever. The entire place looked as if it had come alive from a painting.

"Of course it is," Master yi Feng laughed at her excitement. He did not want to admit it but hearing someone say nice thing about his own wolrd was something good indeed.

"I spent my years of cultiavtaion to prepare this space." He said with a bit of nostalaigia in his voice.

"Yes, indeed." He nodded his head with a bit of melancholy as he looked far away in the horizon. Following his gaze, Le Fang Ling's eyes landed on a faraway hill that was covered by huge white and black clouds.

It seemed as if the entire place touched the heaven, if there was one.

Just as they were watching, a pair of arms hugged Le Fnag ling from the back all of sudden.

"Oh my gosh," she exclaimed out in surprise as she caught hold of the arms around her waist. She touched the wrist and almost immediately she was sure about whom this belonged to.

"Took you long enough," she giggled as she tightly held on to the arms. This time, there was no doubt that the wrist belonged to Nagina and not some weird creepy monster that was made to test her out.

"Of course," Nagina nodded her head as she withdrew back her hand from the waist.

She was dressed in a black dress that reached up to her knee. It was an off shoulder dress that showed off her milky white shoulder out in the open.

Her cuteness only got highlighted with her long silvery white hair that was falling down from her head like a waterfall, glistening in the sunlight.

"So, she also came here when you were dragged inside the jade locket," Master Yi Feng was skeptical about the appearance of Nagina when he had clearly made the jade locket to only allow Le fang ling to enter this dimension.

Without his permit, no other soul  was supposed to be capable of entering this area. But, here right in front of him was Nagina, a small girl who was also an evolving magical beast.

'There is something really fishy here,' he thought to himself as he looked at the girl in front  of him who looked much more different than how she had appeared a few days ago.

She had lost her tail and there was something different in the air between the two of them.

'As long as she is not a threat, she can accompany here,' he sighed as she waved off any of the suspicion in his head. It was not weird for the magical beast to evolve alongside their contracted master.

It also made him wonder if Le fang Ling indeed developed a little more after their last meeting and it was half confirmed from the small test back in the cave.

He was shaken up from his thought when he heard Le Fang Ling calling him.

"Master, that beast back there," she said with a little doubt while staring at Master Yi Feng.

"That was your work, wasn't it?"
