Chapter 32: Not a Goodbye

Nathan White's POV

After his talk with Sabrina, she agreed to let me be held in custody. She said that it was for my good. If we were meant to be, fate will let us unite.

"promise me, you will never forget me," I said as I touched our forehead together as we were inside a car, a few blocks away from the train that will take me to the airport.

"Hmm," she said as she was pulling me on the neck.

"don't forget to eat well, you look thin since I last saw you," I said as I was trying to lighten the mood. Sabrina laughed but she was sobbing quietly as she tried to make this as painless as possible.

"You should just stay, but I think Alfred might be mad at me for not letting you go," Sabrina whispered as she looked at me. I looked inside her green orbs as I knew that it was not what I suspected but I think Alfred has a point.

"This is not a goodbye," I said as I can see she nodded at me.

"until death does us apart," she said.

"until death does us apart," I replied before I kissed her tenderly. I think I will miss the mouth for the last 5 days that I have spent with her in her old beach house in Nice.

"until then," she replied after I broke the kiss and took my backpack.

"This is not a goodbye," I said as I went out of the car and went to the Nice Grand Metro Station. I knew that it was hard to make the steps but I have to look brave, for Sabrina. I turned for a while before I went inside the station.

I waved at her and she waved back. Her wedding ring was glistening in the sunlight as I know that my wedding ring glistened at her. I turned around and stepped inside the station. I went to buy a ticket to Paris as I knew that my old organization was waiting for me. That old man was waiting for me.

"until next time, Nice," I said as the train moved to the destination that I was dread to go to.

"Mr. White, it's for you to show up," the director was greeting me as I looked at him. I nodded before I gave my backpack to him as he put it to the side.

"after you," he said as he urged me to get inside the plan and I did. The other agents were surrounding the private plane as it departed from Paris to the next destination, the White House.

"Mr. President said that he was ready to give you a full pardon and a reinstatement if you do give us the information about the Red Arrows member and where they are," the old man said as I was looking outside the window. I nodded as I knew they would like to know about them.

"great," he said before I held my hand.

"But, I do not wish to stay in the organization, I wish to be a normal citizen from now on. I have missed so much that life can give me," I said as I looked at them. The old man looked at me like I was a mad man.

"but, your father…" was the last thing that he said as I interrupted him.

"my father's wish was never about this but to be free and enjoy life, like he did not have the chance to do it with me," I said before I went silent. The journey was long enough that I slept through the way

"Nathan, we are here," the old man shook me as I was waking up from a nice dream. Sabrina, the beach house and a normal family.

"Hmm, okay," I said as I held out my hands and I went out of the plane to the special van that they put criminals in. I never thought that I might end up like them. But, it was the system that was lacking for viewing me as a criminal and organizations like red Arrows as a threat to the government.

"You have the right to remain silent, anything that you said will be used against you in court and you will be provided with a lawyer to represent you," the other agent said as I nodded and went inside the van. The perimeter of the security was double as they were afraid I might be doing something bad. But I just stay still as I have lost my soul.

Exactly 3 PM in Washington DC, I was sent to the court to report about my case and I just stated what I know about the red Arrows, nothing new, just the info that they already have.

"where are they now?" The old man asked. I looked at him through my hooded eyes.

"I don't know, one minute I was in the house and the other, I was on the street, ready to turn myself in. please, your honor, I speak the truth," I said as I looked at the lie detector.

"he did not lie," the old man said. The judge looked at me before he sighed and took off his spectacles.

"then, I have no choice but to sentence you to 5 years of the sentence, 3 years on house arrest and 2 years on probation. You are not allowed to use any electronic or have any internet connection," he said before he hit the gravel.

"Thank you, your honor," I said as I went outside of the court to be sentenced to my crime.

Before leaving France…

Sabrina Dubois' POV

"You need to take this, Nate, it will help you to ease you in your trial," I said as I gave him the pill that I have developed in the lab for memory loss.

"Are you sure? I don't want anything to happen after I took it," he said as he looked at me skeptically.

"We just got married, why would we be apart again?" I said as I looked at the wedding ring that he got me and his wedding band.

"I will always remember you, honey, you know that," I said as I caressed his cheeks. He looked at me as he was about to take that pill.

"maybe before your train tomorrow. Take it inside the train, okay?" I said as I stopped him.

"why?" He asked before I smiled at him.

"it's our wedding day, we need to paint the town red," I said before I dragged him out of the house and hit Nice.

We went to the beach that was located on my property. It was a private beach hence we just skinny-dipped inside the beach and had the fun of my life. After that, we went to the local bar that served the great Chardonnay in town as I was drunk and Nate was trying to control me. We went dancing on the street as I was dancing along the sidewalk with him closing by on me.

"come on, Nathan. Be more fun," I said as I looked at him. He just smiled at me before he scooped me bridal style and I laughed at him. He laughed at me as well before he kissed me. He kissed me passionately before the fireworks were popping in front of me.

"wow!" I shrieked as I hold on to his neck. He just laughed as he was still holding me in his arms.

"so beautiful," I said as I looked at it. I can sense that he was looking at me as I turned to catch him staring at me.

"but not as beautiful as you," he said before I pulled him closer to kiss him passionately. After that, we were back at the house as he was hitting my back on the wall and I knew that we were goners. The carnal desire took over us as we stripped our clothes as we went to the bedroom.

"Nate," I moaned as he was kissing my neck and jaw as he tore my dress.

"Sabrina, oh god," he said as I took off his shirt and went to work on his pants. It came off in seconds as we hit the bed and released our desires to the extreme that night.

After that morning…

I went to drop him off at the train station. I looked at his silhouette as he entered the station. He turned for a while as he waved at me. I waved him back as I was trying to hold my tears inside me. I tried to look strong before he disappeared inside. I cried as I was gripping on the wheels before I wiped it off. I took the envelope from my dashboard and I took a deep breath. I read the label.

I wiped my tears before I started my ignition and drove off to Paris. It was a long journey from Nice to Paris, not to say that I have a few pit stop for the night. It was like a field trip but to face the music. As I was entering the motel that I was staying for the night, my phone rang and I took the call as I was looking outside the window.

"Hello, Ms. Sabrina Dubois?" The caller asked.

"It's Mrs. Sabrina White," I replied as I can hear that he was typing inside his computer for my updated information.

"We are from the NSA. We understood that Mr. Nathan White has left France and you were on your way to clear your name? Is that correct?" He asked as I was playing with my necklace.

"yes," I replied as I don't think I have any strength inside me to know what were my sentence would be.

"good, we will be waiting," he said before hanging up. I turned off the phone before I hit the bed to take a good night's sleep as I knew the day after tomorrow, it will never be the same.
