Chapter 18: The Past

Kyle Conti's POV

"So, Rose, what made you come back to Italy?" Laura asked as she did not know that I just broke up with her before I went to Romania. I don't like it when Laura just being the good little sister that she was but if she let Rose come to my birthday party, I will bust out of the country.

"I was in the country to do some research on some minerals that will be used to make jewelry. Don't Kyle told you, I was in the jewelry business," she said as she looked at me, trying to have my support. I just sipped on my drink as I don't want to talk with her.

"oh, that's nice. so, you have something that can help me to have a new bracelet or pendant, then?" Lucca asked as he looked at Rose. She looked at Lucca but when she saw the wedding band, she just smiled at him.

"Yes, sir. I work with one of the top business corporations from Denmark," she said as sh sipped on her orange juice.

"what was the name of the company?" Lucca replied.

"I can remember, maybe it was Peridot or something," she said as she took some scrambled eggs and bacon before putting into her mouth.

"Ah, I thought you might be working with one of my friends, he owns one of Denmark's biggest jewelry business as well," he said as he took a sip of his drink.

"Oh my, what a small world. Maybe I might have been interacting with him during my working experience," Rose said as I eyed her from afar. I needed some distraction as I don't want to be in the same room with her. Laura knew what I was thinking hence she called us to have some tea in the library.

"Why are you really here, Rose?" I asked her as I pulled her to the side as we were heading toward the library.

"Nothing. Laura thinks that we still together so she sent me a message as you were back in Italy last night. I knew how jet lag can get you so I will let your anger slide for this time," she said as she patted on my cheeks.

"get off before I make you," I said as I was heading toward the library alone and leave Rose there on herself. I opened the library door and saw a figure that I did not saw during breakfast. She has auburn hair that reaches her butt and she was talking with Lucca very animatedly, more than my liking. I don't know what was wrong with me but I felt some kind of attraction to her like I have known her my whole life.

"Kyle! You did not tell me that you're engaged," Laura said as she went to hug me.

"What!" I heard a scream at the door. Rose was standing there before she recomposed herself.

"I mean, when did this happen?" She said as she was walking toward us.

"I don't recall myself getting engage to anyone," I said as I looked at Laura confused. When the mysterious woman turned, my heart skipped a beat. She had the deepest blue eyes that I ever saw.

"honey, we just got engaged, remember. I mean you told me that you love me last night when you fled the party. I searched for you and here you are, back in Italy without telling me," she said as she looked at me like I need to understand her sign.

"What? What party?" I asked confused.

"This woman is lying. Kyle doesn't even remember that you ever get engaged," Rose said she was taking a quick step with her heels. I rolled my eyes at her attempt to walk properly.

"you don't remember me, honey. I'm Alina, your fiancée," she said as she took my hand. I can feel the jolt of electricity as we touched.

"Can I talk to you for a second?" Alina said as she dragged me out of the room. We went out of the library and went to stand under the stair, far from anyone. How did she know that this stair doesn't have that many people using it?

"Hmm," I groaned as she moved her tongue together with mine. We were French kissing each other as I pushed her onto the wall of the stairs.

"oh, I missed you, Kyle," Alina said as I kissed her again as I pulled her legs up around my torso.

"I don't know what took over me but I knew that I have to kiss you again," I said as I was taking a break from the kissing as we were running out of breath.

"it's okay, Kyle. I allow it, only for you," she said before I kissed her passionately even more, now with her permission. I bit on her lips that drew the blood.

"ah!" She moaned as I knew that she can feel my growing erection in my trouser.

"not yet, Kyle. We need to meet and greet your family member before I satisfy you," Alina said as she grabbed my erection. I groaned onto her touch as I can see that she was smiling wickedly at me.

"Hush now. We continue later," she said before perking on my lips as I went to drag her to meet Laura and Lucca and also my niece and nephew.

"took you guys long enough to talk," Rose said as I went inside the room with Alina.

"Do you remember now?" Laura said as she looked at me and Alina.

"Is this really your fiancée?" She asked again. I looked at our interlocked fingers and I nodded at Laura.

"Oh my god. Welcome to the family!" Laura shrieked as she went to hug Alina. Alina was stumbling back a few steps as Laura crushed her. Rose looked at us as if she was out of place.

"I'm sorry if I just barge in with your tea for quality family time," she said as Laura took a good look at her.

"oh my," she said as she looked at Lucca.

"what's wrong?" I asked as I don't know what Laura saw. Laura just cleared her throat and just smiled at me and Alina.

"it would be an honor to have you here," Laura said as she took Alina's hand as she looked at us both.

"Now that we have met, I want to introduce you to my husband, Lucca Giovanni," Laura said as Alina shook hand with Lucca. She just smiled as I looked at them

"Nice to meet you, Alina. Kyle never mentions you before," Lucca said as he looked at us.

"oh, maybe he forgot to tell us that," Rose said sarcastically as I turned to look at her sharply.

"don't you have somewhere to be, Rose?" I asked her as she looked at her watch.

"Shit, I late for work. Anyway, congratulations to both of you," she said before running out of the room.

"Now that she's gone, we can meet the kids. They are playing upstairs," Laura said as she took Lucca's hand and went up the stairs. We followed her pursuit as I took Alina's hand into mine.

"Come on, let me show you around after this," I said as I looked at her and for the first time in my life, I felt at ease.

Alina Dalca's POV

"So, this is Aria and Brian. Brian is the oldest. He's 5 years old meanwhile Aria was 2 years old," Laura said as she took those children to hand one to me. The little girl was looking at me as she was looking so cute in her pink onesie.

"They are so adorable that I could just eat them," I said before Laura looked at me.

"I mean not literally but you know what I mean," I said as I chuckled at the baby.

"papa," Aria said as she looked at me. I looked at her and saw that she was looking so familiar with those grey eyes and black hair with such pale skin.

"I knew what you really are," Laura said as she took Aria from and put her in her crib to put her to sleep. Brian already sounds asleep as it was napping time for the children.

"What do you mean?" I asked her nervously.

"I knew that your species existed but Kyle did not. I have spent my years in Albania and they have the same history as Romania and same myth," Laura said as she looked at me.

"I hope you don't threaten Kyle to be with you," she said as she was crossing her hands in front of her chest.

"of course not. I don't force myself on anyone," I said as I was chuckling lightly. Laura arched her eyebrow at me.

"I trust you're one of the good guys. I hope you will protect him from your own kind. I just don't want my brother to get hurt," she said before patting on my shoulder and left me alone in the nursery as I knew my heart beats for one and the only man that I ever been with.
