Chapter 23: Dinner Date Part 1

A few seconds later, Chen Shu couldn’t help but laugh a bit in response.

“Haha. In fact, there was no need to buy so many.”

Ye Sui shook her head instantly, “How can I do that? I said I would buy 10 or more vases. But, as I gave it some thought, 10 vases perhaps is enough.” After all, she merely accidentally broke Chen Shu’s vase and felt remorseful.

Chen Shu looked at Ye Sui with ambiguous eyes. Still, Ye Sui’s attention was wholly focused on his reaction, so she even forgot to lead Chen Shu inside. In such a manner, she pulled Chen Shu’s arm inside to take a look. “Do you like it?”

Chen Shu looked distracted. Separated by only a layer of clothes, that soft touch was faintly discernible. Ye Sui’s voice continued to ring, but Chen Shu became somewhat absent-minded.

Ye Sui: “I have deliberated over this vase for a long time…”

As Ye Sui kept on talking, she found herself holding Chen Shu’s hand, and it made her surprised. She immediately shut her mouth and quickly released his hand after she shyly stepped back.

Chen Shu sensed that the warm touch had disappeared. He looked over and caught a glimpse of Ye Sui with her head down and ears red.

Chen Shu’s clear voice sounded, soothing the embarrassment of Ye Sui. “Sorry, I was distracted just now. Can you repeat it?”

He did not mention anything about how she pulled him just now, but he selected a topic for them to talk about.

Chen Shu’s eyes were pitch-black. With a reassuring sound, he said. “Continue talking, I’m listening.”

Feeling that Chen Shu did not seem to notice her action just now, Ye Sui’s embarrassment eased a lot.

“Hmmm.”

“Do you think there are too many patterns on this vase?”

Chen Shu lowered his eyes a little, and his voice was neither urgent nor slow. “No, I like it very much.” Ye Sui felt relieved.

Ye Sui picked up another vase and looked at it from her side. She said in a somewhat disheartened tone, “What about this one? It’s short and big. They looked impressive in the store, but now they look a little less beautiful.”

Chen Shu caught a glimpse of Ye Sui’s expression. His eyes made a slight movement, and he said, “But I think this one is quite lovely.”

No matter what Ye Sui said, Chen Shu would reply in a perfect manner, taking care of her mood. She liked to talk while Chen Shu was willing to listen. No one noticed the flying time.

It was late at night, and the two had to go back to their rooms to sleep. While lying in bed, Chen Shu would be asleep at around eleven o’clock, and he would not let himself so past  this time. However, he did not fall asleep today. His mind was thinking about the scene just now. Ye Sui bought ten vases, especially for him, and conversed with him happily. His eyes seemed to be overflowing with joy.

In fact, the broken vase, although it was antique, he didn’t care much about it because he already had too many expensive things. If one was gone, he could easily get more. When Chen Shu saw an expensive antique at that auction, his heart had no waves, calm like a lake.

Just now, when Ye Sui brought fake vases in front of him, they were obviously not worth mentioning compared with the previous one, but it was odd. He seemed to be enjoying it more.

There was no light in the room, and darkness was all around. From a slit in the window, moonlight came in. Under dim illumination, Chen Shu’s eyes were bright, just like the clean and white moonlight outside the window.

After a while, he lifted his lips and smiled.

Ye Sui was finished with her drama scenes. Now, she was completely free. She had a lot of leisure time, so she had a whole day sleeping. She and Chen Shu also had dinner scheduled for the next day.

Because of Ye Sui’s gifts, Chen Shu offered to invite her to dinner.

On a dark and windy night, Ye Sui wore a mask and hat that covered her face and was now sitting in the Chen Shu’s car. As Ye Sui had so much free time, Chen Shu promised to invite her to dinner, and she was in an excellent mood.

Although Ye Sui was a little star, no paparazzi followed her. Chen Shu was a low-key person, and she did not want to have any impact on him. They should be careful when they go out.

Chen Shu had parked in the parking lot. When they got off the car, he saw Ye Sui pressing the brim of her hat very low. Her eyes only followed Chen Shu and did not wander to look at other places. She seemed not to want to be recognized by others and appeared to be hiding something else.
