Chapter 47 - A Coup D'état Being Planned In Broad Daylight!

“Why is everyone so obsessed over Ghuanyu’s method? It’s not even that complicated for them to replicate it, or neither is it amazing or anything, it’s just the Four Physical Realms.”

Though Xi Shen said it like that, he was in a completely different position for him to easily see through how Ghuanyu had accomplished this, and take it for nothing.

As for those experts who were gushing over Ghuanyu’s method, to them, something like successfully changing the way of cultivating through the Four Physical Realm, which was around for thousands of years, was nothing short of an impossible feat.

After seeing the results of Ghuanyu’s accomplishment from their point of view, it was a major matter that could influence the entire cultivation world. So of course they would gush over Ghuanyu, and possibly start kissing his ass so they could be the first to be a part of this monumental change.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Ghuanyu was ushering in a new era with his new way of cultivating.

However, Xi Shen being the reason why Qi cultivation existed in the first place, didn’t see this as such.

Though he had to admit what Ghuanyu did was a great accomplishment, one had to know that the current Qi cultivation system hadn’t started out as the current one.

Over the thousands of years, it had existed, and just by reading at a few stages of the cultivation realm descriptions, Xi Shen could tell that it had gone through countless revisions and changes to reach this point where people had an exact idea of what to do to reach the next level of power.

The people responsible for those changes would have probably been worshiped like gods if they were ever remembered, but over the course of time their name and existence had vanished into the river of time, they and their accomplishments forever forgotten by their descendants and successors.

However, Ghuanyu wasn’t one of those people. The cultivation System right now wasn’t in need of fixing, and why fix something that isn’t broken?

Ghuanyu might be basking in the spotlight now, but some years in the future all of this would come crashing down on his and all those who choose to cultivate in his method idiotic heads.

On the stage, Guiren Spiritual Qi with the metal element attribute was clashing against Shiming’s raging fiery Spiritual Qi.

They both had silently agreed to end this battle with one move.

All the disciples down below were looking at this spectacular scene with awe. No matter who won this match, the common consensus would be that both Guiren and Shiming were among the top disciples in this generation, and would definitely become powerhouses within the Celestial Academy in the future.

With the long sword in hand, Guiren stood stock still calmly looking at Shiming who had already drawn his saber.

Both their aura climb to their absolute peak, before their figures simultaneously dashed forwards at blinding speed.

Within the middle of the stage, their black and red Spiritual Qi clash violently which sent out large ripples in all directions.

Guiren’s overbearing and sharp Metal Qi batted against Shiming’s fierce and burning Fire Qi, however, after a few moments, the disciples could sense Shiming’s power increase all of a sudden and breaking the equilibrium between them to eventually overpower Guiren.

Within the ripples and the clashing powering on the stage, which was causing dazzling light to flash constantly, Guiren's bloodied figure could be seen being thrown back into the air. A huge wound was running across his chest and his long sword was broken with only the handle remaining.

After the aftermath of the devastating clash calmed down, Shiming's figure was seen standing on the stage upright while he breathe heavily.

Everyone could see a gash on his arm, which was from him dodging Guiren's attack to his back.

After glancing at Guiren’s figure below the stage for a brief moment, Shiming turned around and left the stage.

The disciples down below reactions was obviously one of excitement.

Seeing this heated battle between Guiren and Shiming, and them choosing to finish it with one move, made their blood boil in exhilaration. They all thought that these two were definitely outstanding individuals, especially Shiming.

Despite being a new newly admitted disciple, he was able to beat someone like Guiren who was at least two years older than him. He definitely gained a bunch of fanatic followers after his display today.

As for the experts above, more and more of them were sending their Divine Will towards Ghuanyu's direction.

The other Six Clan Leaders could sense all the Divine Wills gathering around them and they couldn’t help but feel apprehension towards the incoming days on the Continent.

They also realized that a good portion of the aristocratic families, which were supposed to be completely loyal to the Crown, were showing interest in Ghuanyu's method of cultivation.

They didn’t want to think about the absolute chaos that was going to unfold if this much of them were siding with Ghuanyu.

Speechlessness couldn't even begin to describe their emotions right now, because this was no different than a coup d'état being planned in broad daylight!

With the second battle over, the elder announced the start of the next match-up.

Like this, the battles of the second round started and concluded one by one.

At the end of everything, the eight participants who remained, along with the lucky person who had gotten the free pass, all were senior Inner Disciples of one to two years, with the exception of Yang Su and Ming Shiming.

Sun Donghai, who had defeated Tengfei, was been knocked out of this round, to his supporter's dismay.

The upcoming round now consisted of nine persons, and the rule of this round was that each participant would battle a total of eight times. With a win, they would receive 1 point, if they lost it’s zero points, and in case of a draw, it’s half a point.

The person with the highest number of points would win the entire competition and gain the lucrative first prize.

Second place and third place would go to the participant that has a total of seven and six points respectively.

After being told the rules of this round, the nine participants all remained silent.

For this round, no lots would be drawn.

A participant must get up on stage and personally chose their opponents.

As the silence rained over the Inner Disciples, the crowd mutters increased in volume.

Then after what seemed like forever, a young man in the sword pavilion’s white robes stepped out confidently and leaped onto the stage.

Yang Su looked at this person and recognized him to be a senior disciple by the name of Zhang Weimin.

As well as everyone who had made it to this round, he was a talented second-year disciple and from his surname, one could tell he was from the Zhang Clan.

Though compared to the power displayed in the other participant's battles, his were not that noticeable, and it was obvious that with his capabilities it would be very difficult for him to take one of the top three spots.

However, his demeanor was calm as he swept his eyes across his eight competitors looking for his first opponent to battle.

Suddenly his eyes landed on Yang Su, and after hesitating for a moment, he pointed at Yang Su and said, “I chose you as my first opponent.”

When everyone saw this, they weren’t that surprised.

Even up until now Yang Su hadn’t really shown much of his power besides that one “sneak attack” he used to defeat Renxiang in the previous round.

Rather than facing the other disciples who had shown ability above his, Weimin decided to take his chances against Yang Su. Maybe he wasn’t as ridiculously powerful as the others and he might have a shot at winning against him.

After being pointed on, Yang Su didn’t refuse, as another one of the rules states that refusing the battle was not an option, and would cause you to be disqualified from the competition.

Yang Su leaped onto the stage to stand in front of Weimin.

After a moment, the elder’s voice could then be heard announcing the start of the match.
