Amari Rex was a very handsome boy even at his birth you could tell he definitely would be a real looker in the future. He was a 9-year-old, he had average height, was a feminine-looking child, his skin a light brown along with being fair and supple, matched with his wavy, long angelic black hair, made him look like a child model.
However, such a sight could never be witnessed with all the dirt and grim that was attached to his body, ruining his graceful image, why would such a child as beautiful as this be plagued with dirt and grim, and not showered in love and affection. The main cause would be the small town he lived in, a small town called Akakios and the way it worked.
Akakios was a decrepit town, that was something anyone could see, the paint peeling off of houses, the broken and worn streets, plants and mold growing on them, along with it being surrounded by a forest, and many other things that spoke volume about how jacked up this place was. The town was infected with gangs trying to take over the town and mold it to how they want and do whatever they want because of the police being basically nonexistent, making the town completely lawless. There were many gangs, creating chaos, filling the streets with blood, causing others suffering, and many other things, but the strongest, or at least the leading gang was Akame and the leader was Amari's father, Shi Rex, and because of this Amari was abused at the young age of 3.
His father was a man of strong build, he had very sharp and pointed eyebrows, a very villainous looking goatee, (he only needed a rolling chair and an evil looking cat to be complete) hawk-like eyes, and short spikey hair, this man screamed shady and shady he was. Shi was a evil but busy man, he was constantly pressured and stressed with constant work, and what was the best way to relieve stress, than to abuse and torture your own 'son' that looked nothing like you or your wife, nothing apparently, because that was what happened to Amari every day of his life. Whipping, starving, beatings, humiliation, you name it and he probably went through it, of course only at home to not tarnish his name, and the reasoning for it, other than p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e, was "For practice."
That was only the small amount of evil he saw in humans in his own home, not to talk about outside in that dark and gloomy world. However, Amari was able to pull through with the help of his family's dog named EMS short for emergency meat shield/supply, something his father picked up off the street would be his lifesaver and guide through it. EMS keep him mentally sane and helped him through thick and thin, he was his thin line connecting him to life, his friend and family, EMS was his everything.
EMS being the dog that it is was loved to go to the forest surrounding the town to get away from the abuse and hatred that shrouded the house, of course taking Amari with him to help him, which was another way of keeping him sane. There in the vast lush forest, that was an oddity considering the town, was almost mystical it was filled with towering trees that possessed unnatural vitality, huge green leaves that shaded the heavy and dense undergrowth of the forest, a dense natural smell that calmed the mind filled the forest.
The forest was also filled with animals of all kinds like deer, monkeys, wolves, leopards, bears, elks, moose, swans, geese, tigers, and many other animals, it truly was a magnificent wonderland on Earth that shouldn't exist, along with the animals.
The Wonderland, as Amari liked to call it, was his true home, the place where he met his real family, the animals in the forest, yes the animals, they were the ones Amari could truly connect with just like EMS, the forest was like a natural playground for him, he swung from vine to vine, climbed trees, wrestled with the animals, and many other activities.
The deer were like his mothers and fathers, they cared for him, licked his wounds from rough playing, and treated him like a fawn. The monkeys like a playful little brother and sisters (AN: Always monkeying around (͠≖ ͜ʖ͠≖)). The wolves and leopards were the cunning and sly twin brothers and sisters that taught him how to hunt properly, the tigers, bears, and moose the protective and aggressive older brothers and sisters that showed him how to fight up close and personal and how to strike fear in creatures. The elks, swans, and geese were the elegant and graceful mothers and fathers that taught him morals about family, the swans were the best at that. However, nothing like this could happen to normal humans, only someone special like Amari could achieve something like this, even if he never realized that.
He learned many things he could never learn as well in human society and gave him love they couldn't, nor would. However, since he was still a child he wanted human affection and attention, humans are social creatures, and animals couldn't give that to him like humans could, he wanted to learn why his parents and people were like this. But in what world would his father or mother teach him anything, besides basic math, reading, and things like that, so the only way he could learn was by himself and the best place to do that was the library.
The library was another way for him to escape the hellhole called, Reality, and get away from all the negativity. It was a place packed with knowledge, stories, imagination, and the creations people brought to life, it was an infectious place that made him forget all his pain and goals of human affection, it was a painless world. From there he learned his morals, beliefs, manners, common sense, and many other things, but what really grabbed his attention was the fantasy world or more specifically the creatures that inhabited them, there he learned the concept of magic and swords, mythical creatures, cultivation, mythology, and many things, but the real head-turner was anime.
Anime influences a lot of people and even teaches people (AN: Maybe even some of the readers, I know it his influenced me, even if only a little.) whats to say about a desperate and broken child. Anime played a big role in saving his remaining attachments to humans, showing him the good and bad in humans, showing that they are not all bad and can change.
While bidding for time he tried to change his "father's" and "mother's" heart, just like anime characters could, but they were merciless puppets, never changing and becoming even more cruel, why? Even if Amari didn't know he did affect his "parents" and they could feel it, it was like sculpting stone with only a fork, a tedious process without much results, that went on for years until the day Amari turned 18, on that day he lost everything, his life, and his last speck of humanity.
