Chapter 20 - Convincing Part 2

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luo's POV

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"A new and upcoming clan?" My face scrunched up as I thought about the possibilities that this offer may bring to me and my clan members. However, as quickly as the thoughts came, they as quickly went away, the advantages far surpassed the possible disadvantages a new clan would bring.

'I could only really agree to what... he wants to do, not like we have many choices anyways. He also seems a bit carefree, kind -I guess-, and... bold -as he called me naive-, and most importantly, he didn't seems to want to hurt us or he's an actor.'

"Yes, the Magnus Clan, is what its called. We are a new and upcoming clan -with only 3 members-, and I wish to invite you and your tribe members to be the first new group... no division in my new clan... or better yet family." He answered my question with. So he is the leader of this new clan, well at least I know we will be safe for a while.

'But if he is this powerful why doesn't he join one of the major clans or only have 3 members when he is this open and kind -at least kinder then any of the other clan leaders and members I know or heard about-, and also family?'

"You said family...right?" Hopefully, I heard right or I might anger him and get my head chopped off -if I'm too filthy in his eyes- or devoured.

"Yes, you heard right, I said family. I want my clan to be more than just a group gathered together for mutual benefit, but a family. I want my clan to be peaceful, to be functional but not at the expense of the freedom of my clan members or their rights they deserve -aka, I don't want my clan members stepping all over one another for their own benefits or because they are 'superior'-. Its doesn't matter if you are weak or strong, disabled, crippled, or functional, or any of the sorts, we will all be equals, of course, there will be people that manage things and of the sorts -like older brothers or sisters- but that would be the extent of one's authority in my clan. And anyone with the d.e.s.i.r.e to join can if they follow some rules and restrictions -like killing other clans members, robbing other members, and etc.-. All in all, I want to build a clan that is like a great big family. I may seem impossible, but impossible is what you make it out to be." After dumping that huge load of information -about his dream and of the sorts- he flashed us a 'smile' that made it feel like the sun was shining on him, like the world itself was there to support him, -not crush him under its weight, as his dream goes against the nature of this world, a dog eat dog world-, he felt like the center of...everything. I've never felt this way before... but it feels good, and that smile I don't think I would ever forget it.

I was... speechless and mindblown. Usually, people with strength like him only think of us as bugs, insignificant, toys, and many other things. But he felt like a kind...

"King?" I unconsciously let that out of my mouth unintentionally. But that was what he was like a kind king, one who's main goal is not for more territory, power, or control, but the safety and prosperity of his people and kingdom.

"King? Hmm, you could see it that way. Hmm, a kingdom that is safe for all who chooses to join me and a safeguard against the corrupt? Hehe, that indeed sounds excellent, yes indeed. But such a kingdom like that, however, needs a solid foundation, and a solid foundation requires solid and faithful people, along with other things, but that is for the future." He looked up to the sky as he thought out loud about the future. And then looked back at us with his bright yellow and pitch-black eyes -that were almost hypnotic as they drew us in, like a black hole- as he asked his next question.

"So I ask of you, Luo, and the rest. I ask again, do you want to be the first to join my cla-...no, my family." This was his second time flashing us a smile, which brought back that feeling from before, that mighty and unconquerable will, the will to fight through it all, to never give up, to be unstoppable. It wasn't an uncomfortable feeling, however, but it made me feel more... safe than anything, so without hesitation...

Yahweh's POV

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Yes...Patriarch Yahweh." After Luo finished saying that he got on his knees and kowtowed to me, to show that he has fully recognized me as his new clan head (and first). The rest of his clan members looked at each other first -as they thought of what to do- but in the end, they ended up doing the same as Luo. Every single one dropped to their knees and kowtowed and the mothers and fathers helped their children do the same.

Looking upon this scene -I unconsciously created a claw to scratched the top of my head- I thought of what to do.

"Alright, alright. Everyone get up." None of them got up, but it did earn me looks of confusion form them, as they stared up at me.

"Didn't I just tell you all that we are all equals here, hmm." They all looked at me in shock, most likely thinking 'Did he seriously mean that? Was that not just for show?'

"Yes, that was not for show -if that was what you were wondering- I take my words very seriously, and you should do the same. Again we are all equals here, so don't get on your knees for me, you only do that for your god or parents, at most you should bow." After that, they slowly raised to their feet and stared at me with newfound passion, a passion for what, I don't know. But at least they listened.

"I know I'm the leader of this clan, but you should see me as... the eldest brother... yeah the eldest brother in a family, that is what I should be to you. A brother that is reliable and will help in your time of need, and with what you need. *Cough* *Cough*, of course, said brother is a bit lazy, but that is about it *Cough* *Cough*. 'Hopefully, no one heard that last bit.' I looked back at them, and I could see they looked at me strangely.

"A-Anyways to complete this I need to make some preparations, I will see you guys in a bit." With that said I made my way back into the cave, but stopped before I went inside and went back to the new clan members.

"Oh yeah, one more thing." They all looked back in my direction.

"Until I'm done making the preparations, you peeps -meaning everyone here- can start building yourselves some shelters with the trees around. That would clear some much-needed space and make great houses, with how much there is, along with the strength of these trees around here." They all nodded gratefully -for thinking about their care and housing- and thanked me for my generosity with smiles.

With that done, I finally made my way back into my cave.
