Chapter 48 - It's Finally Time

It has been a long time since that day I did that test for Mungo and he has come a long way since then. I don't really know the exact amount of time that has passed but Eve has alerted me that today is the day we leave, so now that our time is coming upon us, it's time for his final test. I walk and look around the place we have called home for the last few years we have been here, as this will be the last day we'll be here.

It was a jungle, like the Amazon Forest but on crack, that was so dense that it bloated out the sun and everything was in pitch darkness, it took Mungo a while to adjust to it, and you couldn't see past about 3 feet without a tree blocking the view, because that was how massive the trees were. Other than trees and the occasional large rock or boulder, there wasn't much to this place... except the giant powerful, to Mungo, creatures that roam around these parts, but that wasn't important. I stop my idle thoughts and stop ambling around, and call out to Mungo.

"Mungo!" My voice, which had grown deeper and more rashy, echoed powerfully throughout the jungle, everything that existed most certainly heard it, but they know not to mess with me. My yell devasted the landscape around me as everything in a 100-meter radius from me was blown away or ripped straight out of the ground from the gale force of my shout. I wait for a bit before I hear the crunch of broken twigs and leaves under the weight of something, I turn to look and see Mungo. After he sees that I acknowledged his existence he disappears, not to me but others, in a blur and appears in front of me, lowers his head, and takes a knee before me..

"What is your command, Sensei." Mungo says. Mungo has changed in both mind and character, if before he was like the immature, goofy member of the group then, he has changed into a serious, hard-working soldier that does what needs to be done without fail, my shadow I suppose. He's also a kuudere in a way as well, as he seems cold on the outside but very caring on the inside. But that is not the only change, he has gone through many physical changes as well. He was no longer the size of a Golden-Retriever but was now 7', and looked like a lanky tall dude, that had good muscles, and his fur was now half-and-half with the color and stripes of the other color on each side of his body. And I don't know if the world is trying to play a trick on me, but he has a large x-shaped scar on his ċhėst and a scar under his left eye, had a good laugh after seeing them both.

"Our time in this realm is almost up Mungo. You have made me very proud, my student, I couldn't have asked for a better one." I say as I rub his head affectionately. Even if Mungo becomes Death himself, he will still be my adorkable little brother.

"T-thank you, Sensei." Mungo says quietly as he blushes, lowers his head further, and unconsciously presses his head further into my paw. I raise my NOW existing right brow, thank God...Gods I looked so weird without them, at that.

"Are you blushing?" I tease him.

"No, of course not, I would never!" He jumps to his feet quickly in embarrassment and tries to deny it, but that only causes it to deepen.

"Hahaha. I'm messing with you. We are always so serious nowadays that I couldn't help but take the chance to tease you when I had it. Sorry, sorry." I wave weakly at him and smile cheekily at him. At that, he just hmphs, but then he coughed into his fist and recovers his professionalism, same for me too, and waits for me to talk.

"Well Mungo as I've said earlier, we are going to leave this place soon. Your training is complete and again you have done well, now I there await you is a final test...do you know what it is?" I slowly keep circling around him as I talk, and when I finish I stop in front of him. Hearing my question he ponders for a bit, trying to come with something, but can't figure it out, so he shakes his head.

"I thought the clearing I've created just for the two of us would have been enough of a hint...anyways, your final test is...a spar...like the one we had in the beginning." Back to where it all started. This is the best way to see how far Mungo has truly come, and it seems he agrees with me with that 'fire' he always has in his eyes burning fiercely. I smirk at that.

"It seems you're already ready...now shall we begin?" He nods, then prepares himself for the upcoming battle. I lift my paw into the air, and a claw comes out with a *Swish*, he tenses at that, and cut a line on my wrist causing my blood to spill forth.

"Wha-" Mungo looks at my actions questionably, but still stays on guard, like a taught and beat into him. After 3 seconds my wound heals up and the bleeding stops, but a nice size pool of blood lingers on the ground, however, after a few more seconds the blood starts to squirm, bubble, and rise into the air, causing Mungo to jump back 5 meters away from me. The blood then turned into a mini-tornado and after a few seconds exploded revealing a mini-me, as 'mini' as a 2.3-meter long wolf is, and absorbs the remaining blood in the air and on the ground. Mungo starts to sweat nervously after witnessing all that.

"Sensei, I can hardly fight one and now a clone of you...well, I'm in for a beatdown I guess."

"Silly chimp, of course, I'm not going to make you fight me and my clone, you will only be fighting my clone. He is about as strong as you, but he won't have your special abilities, but he will have his own. Now prepare yourself, this is a test and also preparation for...him when we get out of here." He nods at me as he focuses on the clone in front of him. I move to the back of the clearing to give them enough room to fight, but do one more thing before I start it.

'Eve check the stats of Mungo.'

(30 Mins Later)

'Hmm...he has improved a lot.' I look down, as I took to the skies during the fight, at the remains of what used to be of the small clearing I made now turned into something out of an apocalyptic movie. The ground was half frozen and half molten, frozen and scorched remains of plant life that were strong enough to last the battle, the rest were vaporized.

'This kinda remains me of that island Akainu and Aokiji made because of their fight.' I thought of as I turned my attention away from the destruction and looked at the bloody mess that was Mungo. He was absolutely battered, covered from head to toe in bruises and cuts, not a single part of his body wasn't covered in blood, yet all he had was a massive bloodthirsty grin to show how he felt about his current state; however, he was probably used to this by now.

"Ha...ha...I-I...I did it! I won, YES! I finally beat your clone!" He suddenly yelled out and thrust his arms out in excitement. I only smiled at the outburst.

"Yes, you did. And to say I'm proud of your progress would be an understatement, you've mastered my technique to a great degree, you only need to gain more and more experience from a variety of different opponents to keep on progressing. Now that we are finished here it is time for us to take our leave." I said to Mungo like how a proud father would say to his son.

"Hmm, I can't wait to have my rematch with Magma." Mungo after hearing me looked out into the distance as he thought about his brother.

"He will indeed be in for a surprise, nor will he ever have any second thoughts of my training from now on."

"Well alright, let's get you healed up and finally return hom-, well a guess our first home."

"Sir yes, Sir!"
