Alex's PoV:
Distere, Satomi, and I were with some of the senior heroes. Both the junior heroes including me and the senior heroes were heading towards where Mentor Axel was located at.
Pedonar and Aileen had told the other senior heroes and the junior heroes about the distress signal of Axel.
It turned out that Axel was surrounded by several high-level monsters that were in the level 70,000s. I don't know if Axel's decision in going up against the high-level monsters was a great decision since it had caused him and us a lot of trouble.
Distere and I were obligated to help Axel since he was our mentor and even if the two of us weren't obligated to do so, Distere and I would still help Axel.
Axel had taught and trained me which gave me enough power to defend myself in this new world that I was unfamiliar with.
I had relied too much on technology back when I was on Earth so it was a blessing for me to have Axel, or should I say my alter ego as my mentor.
Not only did Axel trained me in the path of the sword, but he also taught me many things about this world, and even if he forgot to give me information about this world, but he would also still give me books that contained information about this world.
Pedonar and Aileen had told us about Axel's current situation and that his life wasn't in danger yet but the junior heroes including me and the senior heroes still needed to make haste or else we would be too late to help Axel
The junior heroes and the senior heroes were flying towards where Axel's location was relayed to Pedonar and Aileen earlier.
The junior heroes that would be allowed to help Axel were Distere, Satomi, and I while the senior heroes consisted of Pedonar, Aileen, Sophie, and Aerin.
Zale was with the other junior heroes and was tasked to guard them so he didn't join us in helping Axel.
On the other hand, Mathew was still in the Holy Church or that's what the senior and junior heroes and I thought.
We still haven't heard of anything about Mathew yet so we weren't sure about what he was currently doing but we had guessed that Mathew was still in the Holy Church.
The senior and junior heroes and I were heading towards Axel's location for several minutes now and we still have yet to arrive at our destination.
********
After another few minutes had passed, the junior heroes including me and the senior heroes found traces of fighting in the forest.
A huge crater was formed on the ground while it formed a spherical hole on the ground and the surroundings as if a wrecking ball that was a hundred times the normal size fell on the ground which obliterated the surroundings.
The trees were destroyed also and there were cracks near the huge spherical crater on the ground.
It was as if there was a high-level monster that used a skill that could detonate a huge spherical condensed mana in the surroundings which caused the scene that the junior heroes, senior heroes, and I had witnessed.
It was certain that Axel was in this part of the forest a while ago since there were traces of the clouds moving towards the opposite direction.
Axel could both use the [Flight] and [Dragon Wings] skill so it was likely that he had escaped via a flight which caused the formation of the clouds to follow towards where he had headed towards.
I'm not that confident that my deduction was correct but I sure am certain that Axel was heading towards where the direction the clouds were moving towards.
There was also a huge circular hole in the nearby clouds which should be the effect of the explosion of the spherical condensed mana that had detonated on the ground.
Apart from that hole, there was the trail that leads to where I had deducted the direction that Axel had went through.
I decided to tell the others of what I had deducted from observing the scene where a battle had occurred.
"Pedonar, I think Axel had gone towards that direction since there are some trails of clouds that indicated he had zoomed towards that direction at a high speed."
I told Pedonar and pointed towards the direction where the trails of cloud that Axel had caused to form due to his flight.
"That is indeed possible. I don't what other places Master Axel had gone to since he didn't update his current coordinates even though I kept on activating the mental link between me and Master Axel."
After Pedonar said that to me, he went to Aileen and told what I had said to him.
Aileen seemed to have agreed to go towards the direction where I had deducted that Axel had gone.
After that, Pedonar and Aileen told the other senior heroes and junior heroes to change our course of direction and so all of us headed towards the direction where I had pointed to Pedonar.
As we were following the trails left by Axel, I found mana signatures from the surrounding trees and I had noticed that it came from both Axel and the other high-level monsters he had fought against.
The trials indicated that there weren't any battles that had occurred in this part of the forest and instead, a set of different footprints which contained mana that was left by the high-level monsters.
Judging by the number of sets of footprints on the ground, there should be at least 10 high-level monsters or lower but not lower than 7.
It seemed that the high-level monsters were fleeing from the scene where the spherical condensed mana explosion had occurred since there wasn't any battle that had occurred in this part of the forest.
The set of footprints from the high-level monsters that were still visible due to the mana that was left on the set of footprints indicated that the high-level monsters weren't using too much force in stepping on the ground but instead, conserving their mana while increasing their movement speed using mana.
As I kept on finding clues that I could find from this part of the forest to unravel the scene when Axel and the high-level monsters had confronted each other, I noticed that Aileen's expression took a 360 degree as her previous serious expression was now changed by a worried and tensed expression that was plastered on her face.
It wouldn't take a genius to know that Aileen must have received news about Axel's condition and the fact that she had heard the news about Axel caused her mood to become worried.
If that was the case, then Axel must have been in a near-death state since that would explain why Aileen was currently worried.
I wanted to ask Aileen if my guess was correct but I decided not to since that would cause panic in our group.
Aileen had already recovered from her worried expression as she put up a facade to conceal her worried expression and so it was replaced by her previous serious expression.
Aileen must have done that so that it won't cause any suspicion about what had happened to Axel and so that's one of the reasons why I decided not to pry any further.
Although Aileen had already known what had happened to Axel, Pedonar had yet to know since the expression on his face didn't change one bit so that told me that Aileen might have known about Axel's condition due to his father, the Dragon King had told Aileen what had happened to Axel.
I'm not in any place and position to force Aileen what she knew about Axel's condition despite being Axel's apprentice so that's another reason why I decided not to ask Aileen what had happened to Axel.
I would later know about Axel's condition after all of us would meet up with Axel so it's best to remain silent while I played the detective here.
I was taking a mental note of all of the clues I had found in the surroundings of where Axel and the high-level monsters had confronted each other so I wasn't just blindly following Pedonar and Aileen.
I had to do my part in this case considering Axel Everheart, my former alter ego, was currently in trouble due to his recklessness.
Axel had done so many things to me that helped me survive my predicaments in my past life so I ought to at least help him in this new life of his.
Axel had suffered too much in my past life since he shouldered all of my sufferings. The God of Worldly Systems was right to seal Axel's memories for the time being but I'm sure that Axel's memories would be unsealed after Axel fulfilled certain conditions.
For now, Axel had yet to know about my relationship with him in both his past life and mine but it was all for the best.
As I had that thought in my mind, my determination in helping Axel survive his current predicament had been boosted.
The senior heroes, junior heroes, and I were almost at the part of the forest where Axel had fought with the high-level monsters if my deductions were correct.
