Alex's PoV:
As I was waiting for Aileen to release the condensed sphere of dragonic mana, the level 77,000 great forest spirit suddenly turned its head towards Aileen.
Fortunately, my reaction time was fast enough to be able to distract the level 77,000 great forest spirit's attention by shooting a compressed mana bullet with the space attribute towards the level 77,000 great forest spirit.
The level 77,000 great forest spirit seemed to have sensed danger incoming towards it so it didn't continue in looking towards Aileen's location but instead, the level 77,000 great forest spirit looked towards my location where a compressed mana bullet with space attribute was heading towards the level 77,000 great forest spirit.
The level 77,000 great forest spirit quickly titled its head towards the right side to dodge the compressed space-attributed mana bullet since I had aimed the compressed space-attributed mana bullet towards the head of the level 77,000 great forest spirit instead of the other parts of the level 77,000 great forest spirit's body.
I managed to distract the level 77,000 great forest spirit's attention so Aileen was yet to be caught by the level 77,000 great forest spirit.
Pedonar slashed his condensed mana sword with death mana towards the level 77,000 great forest spirit.
The level 77,000 great forest spirit barely dodged Pedonar's sword slash attack so there was a minor cut on the level 77,000 great forest spirit's body.
Pedonar's death mana on the minor cut of the level 77,000 great forest spirit caused the level 77,000 great forest spirit's movement to slightly decrease while the death mana started to corrupt the level 77,000 great forest spirit's body.
The level 77,000 great forest spirit cut off the patch of skin (materialized mana) that was corrupted by death mana to prevent the further spread of death mana on the level 77,000 great forest spirit's humanoid body.
Pedonar created another condensed mana sword and proceeded to attack the level 77,000 great forest spirit by wielding two condensed mana swords at the same time.
The level 77,000 great forest spirit summoned some reinforced grass to bind Pedonar. Pedonar easily cut off the reinforced grass using his dual-wielded condensed mana swords.
Pedonar enchanted his two condensed swords with the [Death Touch] skill so that the death mana on the two condensed mana swords would be increased.
Pedonar had told me when he grouped all of the heroes including me that would participate in Pedonar's rescue plan to save Axel that if Pedonar used his [Death Touch] skill, then he would start a war of attrition towards his opponent.
Pedonar had told me that the [Death Touch] still would cause numerous debuff to whoever would be grazed by it but at a random percentage.
One of the debuffs of the [Death Touch] skill was instant death which was the debuff that Pedonar would be planning to inflict on his opponent. Although there would be a chance that other debuffs like paralysis, poison, etc. would be inflicted instead of instant death, at least there would be a 100% chance to inflict any debuffs including the instant death debuff.
So even if Pedonar was unlucky that he wouldn't be able to inflict the instant death debuff towards his opponent, he could still utilized the other debuffs that he had inflicted to his advantage and wait until his luck would hit the instant death debuff towards his opponent.
But this time, Pedonar was against an opponent that didn't possess any physical body. The other debuffs excluding the instant death debuff wouldn't harm the level 77,000 great forest spirit but the instant death debuff would.
Pedonar must have inflicted other debuffs excluding the instant death debuff on his previous successful attack against the level 77,000 great forest spirit so the level 77,000 great forest spirit only suffered the corruption effect of Pedonar's death mana.
If Pedonar had fought against the huge tiger or the huge armadillo, then Pedonar would have won easily if his opponent weren't resistant towards Pedonar's inflicted debuff.
For example, monsters that were proficient in using electric magic would likely possess resistance against paralysis so the paralysis debuff that Pedonar had inflicted on those types of monsters wouldn't work against them. The same goes for monsters that were proficient in fire magic would be resistant towards the burn or hot debuff.
Usually, the [Death Touch] skill would only be able to inflict the instant death debuff instead of other debuffs such as sleep and paralysis towards the target but Pedonar possessed a cheat skill that aided him in improving the effects of the [Death Touch] skill.
Although, Pedonar vaguely told the heroes and me about his cheat skill and did not fully disclose the other effects of his cheat skill.
Of course, the other heroes and I decided not to pry any further since that would be for the best. If there was a chance that some of the heroes were spies from other countries, races, and such, then it would be disadvantageous for the other heroes that weren't spies to have their cheat skills known to his or her enemies.
I bet the reason why Axel disclosed his cheat skill as "a skill that allows him to obtain stats and skills by devouring his opponent's flesh" was just a guise to hide his real cheat skill which was the [System] skill.
With that in mind, Axel's opponents and even the other heroes wouldn't be able to know that Axel possessed another cheat skill which was the [System] skill.
Even I would buy that Axel's cheat skill was devouring to make himself stronger instead of a [System] skill if I didn't possess a [System] skill nor had known that Axel was blessed by the God Of Worldly System. But if Axel managed to mess up and unintentionally act suspicious in his actions while using the system and an effect would occur that was one of the system's features, then there was a high chance that those who would witness Axel's suspicious action would either think of it as Axel's skill or cheat skill.
Even if other beings in the world of Deus would find out that Axel was blessed by the God Of Worldly Systems, Axel would still unlikely be suspected of possessing a [System] skill since it was the only cheat skill that wasn't recorded in the books and the Deus' residents weren't aware of the fact that a [System] skill existed in the first place.
Fortunately, the God Of Worldly Systems had not blessed the residents of this world with a [System] skill so the existence of the [System] skill was only known to Axel, me, the God Of Worldly Systems, and the other gods in the divine realm.
If the God Of Worldly Systems had not disclosed to the other gods in the divine realm about him blessing Axel and me possessing the [System] skill, then it's possible that the other Gods had yet to know about the existence of the [System] skill.
It was convenient for Axel and me if that was the case since the two of us wouldn't want the existence of the [System] skill being known to our enemies.
Information played an important role in battle. Letting Axel and my enemies knew about the existence of the [System] skill would allow Axel and my enemies to exploit the weakness of the [System] skill.
The only weakness of the [System] skill was it was weak from the start and its strength was that the [System] skill would become stronger every time it was upgraded.
It was possible to transcend into existence close to a God if the [System] skill was at MAX level or even a God if what the God Of Worldly Systems had told me was correct.
There was also a possibility that the God Of Worldly Systems was using Axel and me for something but I can't put my finger on what the God Of Worldly Systems would need Axel and me to fulfill if that was the case.
I decided not to delve deeper into it since I was only a mortal being and I couldn't perceive the real intentions of a God unless I was a God myself.
Also, the God Of Worldly Systems had provided both Axel and me with so many benefits such as revival and cheat skills so it would be impolite to refuse his request when the time comes that he needed Axel and me to do something for him.
I wasn't an ungrateful kind of person so I would likely support any scheme that the God Of Worldly Systems would plan.
As I started to stop in further thinking of the intentions of the God Of Worldly Systems in reincarnating both Axel and me into the World Of Deus, I noticed that Aileen had already completed her condensed sphere of dragonic mana attack and she was now slowly aiming it towards the level 77,000 great forest spirit.
Pedonar and Sophie had also noticed that Aileen had completed her attack so the two of them kept the level 77,000 great forest spirit until the time was perfect for Aileen's attack to be released towards the level 77,000 great forest spirit.
That time would be when the level 77,000 great forest spirit showed an opening that would allow Aileen to perfectly hit the level 77,000 great forest spirit within the distance between Aileen and the level 77,000 great forests spirit without letting the level 77,000 great forest spirit know about the condensed sphere of dragonic mana.
I started creating and preparing condensed mana bullets with space attributes to stall the level 77,000 great forest spirit if the time arises that the level 77,000 great forest spirit looked at Aileen's location.
It was time to end the level 77,000 great forest spirit's life.
