Volume 4 Afterword

Looks like it's our fourth time around, I think everyone knows pretty much what to expect.

How did everyone like the abundantly sugary volume four?

I know the ending wasn't as jaw-dropping or shocking as past endings were, but I wrote the ending this way on purpose.

I wrote it with the intent to show that change may sometimes be unnecessary and that there doesn't always need to be something changing in your life for it to be interesting.

Takei and Akari's relationship is at a very high point where they trust and love each other very much, so why would there be a need for change to the current status quo?

Eventually they'll change, but there's no need for it right now.

Both of them are content with the way their current lives are, so there's no need to fix something that's broken.

The mundane yet very realistic ending to volume four is something that I planned on doing for a while.

Putting aside the ending, I believe that volume four had a bit too much sugar.

Volume four was a volume that rode the highs of volume three's spectacular ending, which meant that a large amount of fluff was inevitable.

In my opinion, I would refer to volume four as the "honeymoon" volume because everything was just flowers and rainbows.

In essence, each volume has somewhat of a theme that is centered throughout the volume.

If I had to name each volume's theme, it would be something like:

Volume 1: Destined Meeting

Volume 2: Confronting the Past

Volume 3: A Brighter Future

Volume 4: Honeymoon

Volume 5: ???

As promised in the previous chapter's postscript, I will be making volume five just a teensy bit more serious.

Well, besides the first 10 chapters of the new volume since I was addicted to writing fluff for a while.

But after the first 10 chapters, I'll do my best to meet the expectations of the fans of Serious-san around the world.

Please keep reading to find out how Takei and Akari will be surviving the incoming storm!

With the return of a past antagonist of course...

Oh, I just remembered.

I have one last thing to say before I go.

As a side project, I've been writing another story that's also set in the same universe as this one.

Let's call it the Goddess-Verse for now, shall we?

It's a slice-of-life romance story that has a male and female lead similar to this one.

However, that story focuses on the distance between people that time can create as a result of being separated for a long time.

How will two childhood friends interact with each other after not having met for several years?

Each individual being is constantly changing, so how will they react to new sides of each other that they haven't seen yet?

I have the cover and synopsis for it all ready to go, but the problem is the lack of chapters.

I only have the prologue and chapter one written, with chapter two in progress.

The writing speed for each chapter is excruciatingly long since I only write when I have motivation for it, to ensure I don't publish a sh*tty story.

I also only write it whenever I finish with whatever chapter of TGNAB! that I'm writing.

Therefore, chapter releases may be few and far between.

Although, I will guarantee the quality of chapters due to the amount of time I take to write them.

Please let me know your opinions on this.

Would you like to read something like this?

Should I release it now with only the prologue and chapter one being written, or should I stack some chapters and release it later?

I'm a bit unsure of what to do, so I might release it on Patreon as somewhat of a test and see what the reception is like.

For now though, I want to thank everyone for your continued support and hope to see you all in the next volume.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

With warm regards,
