Chapter 185 – Extravaganza Planning

"And so... let's have a party before we have to return!"

Yuuto and Flora had returned for a few days to spend some time with their family, but it was nearing the time for their return overseas.

Therefore, they decided to host a party on the day before they leave.

"Let's invite everyone we know and have an extravaganza~" Flora mentioned.

At the current moment, all of the members of the Tanaka family (including Akari) were in the living room discussing the specifics of the party.

"Do we even have enough money to cover the expenses of the party?" Takei asked his parents. "It sounds like a pretty large event you're planning on holding."

"Did you forget I'm a doctor?" Yuuto asked his son.

"Oh, yeah. You are a doctor, huh?"

"How could you forget?!"

The party would be held on a Sunday and would consist of many events.

Just as any party would, there would be a large amount of fun and entertainment for the guests.

This party would also double as the celebration of Yuuto and Flora's anniversary for their marriage.

"Was there any theme you two were planning on having?" Airi asked.

Yuuto contemplated the idea for a moment before replying. "I don't think we have anything specific when it comes to theme, just anything colorful will do."

"Vibrant colors and pretty flowers sound quite delightful," Flora added.

How true to her name, Takei thought to himself.

"I can handle the cooking for the event," Akari nominated herself. "I think I'm quite solid when it comes to cooking."

"Please let me join you then," Flora volunteered. "It'll make the burden on you easier and also let me spend some time with my daughter-in-law. That's two birds with one stone!"

Even though his mom was saying some weird things, Takei was too desensitized to that type of stuff to care.

"I can ask Ryuto about catering from the cake shop he works at," Takei added on to the momentum.

Airi raised her hand in excitement. "Ooh ooh! I can work on the invites to hand out to everyone!"

"I'll help out on the distribution for the invites then," Yuuto joined in on the fun.

Now that everyone had a role to play, the Tanaka party extravaganza was all but set in stone.

"Meeting dismissed!"

***

Takei Tanaka had not ridden a bike in a very long time.

To be more precise, it was around December of last year when he stopped riding his bike.

It was, of course, all due to the goddess's arrival in his life.

He enjoyed walking with Akari everywhere, but the bike he used to ride everywhere held a special place in his heart.

Today would be the first time in months that he would once again touch a bike.

"Hey old pal, you're looking a little bit worse for wear than when I last saw you."

When he opened the door to the warehouse in his backyard, Takei saw his old bike being propped up against the wall with a large amount of dust covering it.

He grabbed a clean towel and began wiping the bike off and doing some maintenance.

A few minutes later, the bike was looking practically brand new.

"Sorry for neglecting you for so long," Takei talked to his bike as he patted the seat. "Time to give you some use today."

Takei hopped on the bike and started pedaling towards Ryuto's cake shop that he works at.

He wanted to personally invite him to the party and ask for Ryuto's help in catering.

Akari wasn't with him today since she was busy brainstorming ideas for the food with Flora in their kitchen, which was a bit unfortunate since Takei wasn't used to being alone anymore.

How ironic. A loner isn't used to being alone anymore, Takei thought to himself as he pedaled to the cake shop.

Today's weather was very mild with a slight breeze, which made biking extremely enjoyable today.

"Nothing could beat the feeling of cold air hitting your face," Takei smiled as he neared his destination.

After a long and enjoyable bike ride, Takei parked his bike outside the cake shop and chained the bike to a pole with a lock.

He entered the cake shop and was immediately greeted by a handsome server.

"Welcome in, how can I help you... eh?"

"Deja Vu much?" Takei laughed. "That's the same exact reaction you had the first time I came here."

Ryuto Inuzaki was fully dressed in his work outfit that basically looked like a butler's attire.

"What can I do for you today?" Ryuto asked Takei.

"Do you have a moment?" Takei replied.

Ryuto glanced at the clock that was in the corner of the room and confirmed the time. "Yeah, I should have a moment to talk. There's not any other customers right now."

They both went over to a table and sat facing each other while Takei explained everything regarding the Tanaka extravaganza.

"So that was it?" Ryuto nodded. "I'll ask my boss, but we should be able to help with the catering."

"Thank goodness..." Takei sighed.

There weren't many other cake shops that were as tasty as this one, so it would be a bummer if he had to go to another one.

"What things were you planning on ordering though?" Ryuto asked.

"Definitely one large cake for my parents' anniversary and then probably a variety or assortment of different cakes and pastries," Takei responded.

"Okay, let me go and check."

Ryuto went to the backroom to ask his boss real quick and ended up coming back moments later.

"He said we're good to go," Ryuto stated.

"That fast?!"

"He said something along the lines of wanting to repay a debt to Dr. Tanaka."

"..."

Dad, how famous are you really?! I swear you've helped out literally everyone in this whole country!

On this day, Takei was reminded that his father was indeed a world-class doctor that has saved many people.
