108 Underwhelming The Gods's Decree

No longer was there chatter from the table as Redford's group could not help but stare. Things apparently, were so strange even Sheryl found herself less focused on the meal but mostly on the two teens...

What they just witnessed was no small feat. These two in their minds could not exceed 15 years of age. When has there ever been a genius in the Fu province at that age treating an 8th stage qi condensation cultivator like this? Much less two...

Also though the Nakushi tribe has declined significantly over the last couple centuries and this is mere small remnants of it. Their skill still cannot be compared to an average cultivator. Shouldn't he have put up some form of resistance? Wasn't this for want of a better word " overbearing."

" Puk!!!"

A mixture of water and dust was spat out of the bloodied mouth of Amir.

" Where am I...?

He asked out loud as he surveyed his surround. His eyes stretched pass the river which was still calm before then drifted into a restaurant. A big hole could be seen to its side. There sat a group with a pair of teens seemingly oblivious to what had previously taken place.

When he saw the youth with dreads and the girl with silver hair cascading down, his very soul quivered. Now everything seemingly made sense.

Unlike the others, he felt the full force of the attack. He once had exchanged a few rounds with a 9th stage qi condensation cultivator. However, there was no comparison to how dominated he just was...

" Damn I fuck up..."

The realization dawned on him as now there was not only fear for himself but for his whole tribe. At first, when he saw the pair he assumed they had some backing yes.

However, he assessed the situation and seeing how naive the youth was, he decided to take a chance. It was a gamble but the risk did not seem high.

Now it finally dawned on him how ludicrous his initial decision making had been. He didn't kick a hornet's nest but a damn dragon's cave it seems.

"Any clan or sect that had these two as members must be a behemoth. Forget the Fu province, which sect within the Chu country could they be from?"

Amir thought as he fought to lift his aching body from the ditch he found himself in.

His movements caught the eyes of Taf who had just indulged in a big gulp of some tangy beverage...

" Aahh Amir you're alive and kicking, for a second there I feared you had met your maker. My apologies I meant to warn you of this outcome but this had slipped my mind. You see I tend to many things, surely you can understand."

Taf grinned while using Amir's own words against him. Amir, however, didn't even think of retorting. His only thought now being how he could salvage himself and tribe for the predicament he now found himself in.

" Sir I... I..."

He struggled to find the right wording to phrase his apologies but the words all seemed underwhelming.

" Just take the 90 lqs and let's call it a day. How about it..?"

Taf waved Amir off as he sampled some dessert he saw newly brought to the table. He had some idea of the worries in this fellows mind. They had their fun and if he didn't learn a lesson from this, so be it.

" There is no need for you to pay sir it's on the house."

Amir quickly took the pouch he previously received from Taf out his clothing. This was as the best outcome he could have wanted. He then cautiously threw it over.

" Hmm..."

Taf caught the pouch as he eyed Amir...

" My lesson aren't usually free Amir and not many cross me and get off so unscathed, but I did quite enjoyed the meal so consider yourself lucky.."

Those words were uttered by Taf before he totally ignored Amir and once more engaged May in conversation.

" You are quite merciful young master..."

Amir bowed before hurrying off feeling quite grateful in escaping the calamity he just found himself in.
