Finding her wallet, Samantha pulled out her driving license and came back to sit next to him.
"I am a bona fide, consenting adult. So, stop hyperventilating," she handed over her ID proof to him for inspection.
Wei groaned out a loud sigh of relief. Looking at her again, he tried to imagine her as a twenty something woman instead of the wild teenager that she looked to be.
"I am sorry. I guess you look a bit young for your age," he lamented.
"Uh, but how did we… I mean I have a pretty hazy memory of last night," he didn't know how to frame his question better.
One night stands had been a regular feature in his earlier life, before he had discovered the existence of his heart and a person to put in it.
"We shared a cab. By the time we reached the hotel, you were incapable of walking up to the room. I brought you here, you invited me to stay over, I accepted, we had mind-blowi… err, we had a good time, matter finished. Now if you don't mind, I need to use the washroom and then leave," she said it in a rush.
For some reason, she didn't want to mention the fact that she had seen him in a pitiable state at the bar earlier during the evening.
Even though he had no memories from the night before, she remembered it vividly in Techno colour. By the time, she climaxed for the third time, she had fallen in love with his love making skills. If he was this good, drunk, she couldn't envision his prowess when he would consciously unleash his skills on someone.
"What the hell are YOU thinking, girl? The man was drunk last night because he was heartbroken, which implies complication. Also, how can you forget, you hate Asian men. They are the biggest slime balls in the universe. And this one is a pure bred Chinese guy," she had seen his name on the room card and guessed his ethnicity.
Her inner voice kept scolding her while she used the washroom, "don't you have enough complications in your life currently that you want to throw your new found lust for this guy into that mix?"
She finished using the hotel toothbrush and freshened up quickly. He was sitting on the sofa, fully clothed, waiting for her.
"So"
"So"
They looked at each other in the first moment of awkwardness.
"I, uh, had a lovely evening. Take care. Goodbye," she said hurriedly and turned to go out.
"Wait! Umm… I don't even know your name. And, I just want to apologise for last night. I…" he stammered in embarrassment.
"My name doesn't matter since the chances of us meeting again are nearly one in a million. As for the apology, I know that you don't remember much, but let me assure you that there was nothing apologetic about last night," with that cryptic remark, she left him stupefied.
Wei cursed himself for his behaviour after the woman left. He had been sitting with a bleeding heart last evening and the same night, he apparently behaved like a Sex God, if that girl's blushes were any indication.
Before he could berate himself any further, he received a call from his father. Thinking how to respond to what his father was going to ask for sure, he picked up the call hesitatingly.
"Wang Wei, I need you back in the country, tonight. No questions asked," his father told him in a firm tone.
Wei could hear a sense of urgency behind his words and asked him for the reason, nonetheless. His first concern was his father's health.
"There is nothing wrong with my health. Just come back ASAP," with that Mr. Wang put the phone down.
He tried reaching Tang's number but that was still unavailable, "what's wrong with everyone and where the hell is that guy when I need him?" he thought with irritation.
He carefully avoided looking at the messy sheets and started packing up. The memories from last afternoon threatened to resurfaced, causing him to go breathless.
"One step at a time, Wang Wei, one step," he told himself.
Samantha got off from the taxi and literally ran inside the college. She knew what awaited her and she wanted to face it and finish it.
"If all you want to do, is sleep around, why bother wasting money on the college and coaching fees for all the extra courses that you are taking," her mother's disapproving lecture had been going on for the past ten minutes now.
"Mum, it's not even 7am. Can you please not start with this again? I told you that I was helping someone and ended up sleeping at that person's place," she replied in a resigned voice.
