Chapter 42 - Ice and Nature Confront

"So Yuki, I heard you and Kayosha are up against Shizen and Shadow tomorrow" Haru stated.

"Yep, And we're gonna win" Yuki happily stated.

"In your dreams" Shadow replied.

"It's still a little too early for you to beat me Yuki" Shizen stated.

"What does that mean" Yuki glared at Shizen.

"It means you won't beat me tomorrow" Shizen replied as he continues to eat the food.

The water inside the glass slowly started to freeze as Yuki glared at Shizen.

"Yuki, You're ruining the food" Shizen stated.

"You don't get to eat" Yuki replied.

"Are the two of them fighting?" Rei asked Ryūsei with an innocent and cute voice.

"No, They're just excited for the match" Ryūsei replied.

"You're gonna cheer for them right" Ryūsei asked.

"Yeah!!" Rei yelled in excitement.

"Well I'm not to worried about our match" Kasai stated as he continued to eat.

"Overconfidence?" Kayosha teased.

"You should be worried Kasai, My mother is going to watch" Sora stated.

"You're not serious are you?" Kasai worriedly asked.

"I am, She's going not watch and I want you to prove that you can protect me" Sora stated.

"If you can't she might separate us" Sora teased.

"Wait can she really do that?" Kasai worriedly asked.

"Of course she can, She's our family's head and she's also the "Sagittarius" Gadiān" Sora stated causing Kasai to be extremely nervous.

"Speaking of Gadiāns, Isn't your opponent a disciple of one" Kayosha asked to Ryūsei.

"Yeah, That's why I'm going to train for tomorrow after Yuki and Shadow's match" Ryūsei replied.

"You're against Kori, If I remember" Haru stated.

"Yeah, Is he your disciple?" Ryūsei asked.

"No, But he's extremely talented so it's going to be a hard match" Haru replied.

"Well I already have a strategy in mind" Ryūsei stated.

"Beat him before he could cast a spell" Kayosha teased but shocked Ryūsei.

"How did you...." Ryūsei muttered causing everyone to laugh.They then continued to eat and laugh as the night goes on.

After they were done eating they chatted for a while walking around the entire Kingdom.

As midnight slowly come close they all decided it was time to go home. Yuki, Shizen, Ryūsei and Rei then said their goodbyes and walked back to the Castle.

As the siblings walked there way home, Yuki & Shizen were talking a little bit about the Grand Shōtotsu, Rei was happily playing with the little bird she has in her hand and Ryūsei was looking up the night sky with his hands behind his back.

The little bird in Rei's hand was a little sparrow with a coat of golden brown in it's feathers, But unlike the usual sparrows in the Elemental World, The one in Rei's hand was smaller than it's usual size.

As the siblings continued to walk back to the castle, A small ice-attribute blast was released and was heading straight for Ryūsei.

The ice-attribute blast hits the ground in front of Ryūsei creating a small ice block.

The sudden attack shocked the siblings causing them to withdraw a few steps back from the ice block.

"Yuki!!, Get Rei out of here quickly" Shizen yelled and without hesitation Yuki quickly grabs Rei and forms an ice shield around her and Rei.

"I'm sorry brother but I have no intentions of running away" Yuki replied.

A second ice-attribute blast was released and this time it was a bit larger than the previous one and now it was directly aimed at Ryūsei.

"Meteor Dragon Photon Blade" Ryūsei then cast a spell and a white sword made of light appeared in his right hand.

He then slashes the ice-attribute blast using the blade in his hand reflecting it to a nearby tree.

Ryūsei then looks around his surrounding area and he then sees the person who released the energy blast.

The person who released the ice-attribute blast was non other than Kori, His opponent in the second round of the Grand Shōtotsu.

Ryūsei then quickly dashes towards Kori throwing his sword to the wall in front of him making it a suitable launch pad.

The then leaps into the air towards Kori using the sword in the wall and he then tries to do a spinning kick but unfortunately Kori manages to block it with one hand.

Kori then throws Ryūsei to the other side of the roof which Ryūsei manages to land safely and he yelled.

"What the hell is wrong with you!! You could've hurt my little sister" Ryūsei yelled.

"I didn't aim for your little sister" Kori replied.

"The one I aimed for was you" He added.

"I have no intentions of fighting you" Kori stated.

"Then what the heck was that attack for?!" Ryūsei pissedly asked. He didn't understand what's going on with Kori.

"I wanted to see my opponents strength, With the stunt you just pulled I'm beginning to see your no rookie" Kori stated as he turns around and starts walking away from Ryūsei.

"Come back here!!" Ryūsei yelled as a white sword made of light appeared in his right hand again and he's about to quickly dash towards Kori.

But before Ryūsei can even move, Shizen grabs his right hand and from the looks of Shizen's face, He wants Ryūsei to calm down.

Without any arguments or complaint the white sword in Ryūsei's hand disappeared and they then went back to Yuki and Rei.

"Why did you stop me Shizen?" Ryūsei asked.

"As I hate it to be defending him, Kori was telling the truth" Shizen replied.

"What was that all about?" Yuki asked as she disabled the ice barrier protecting her and Rei.

"Is the bad guy gone?" Rei curiously asked.

"He's not a bad guy Rei, He's your big brother Ryūsei's opponent in the 2nd Round" Shizen happily replied.

"But why did Kori suddenly attacked?" Yuki asked as she approaches towards Shizen.

"He said he just wanted to test Ryūsei's strength" Shizen replied.

After a while of chatting they then headed back to the Castle and Yuki and Rei headed to Rei's room while Shizen and Ryūsei headed to the living room.

"Rei's finally asleep" Yuki exclaimed as she enters the living room after an hour.

"Aren't you going to sleep yet Yuki?" Shizen asked.

"It's getting really late" He added.

"I am, I'm just here to say goodnight to the both of you" Yuki replied.

"And good luck tomorrow big brother, I won't be holding back so be ready" She added causing Shizen to smile as Yuki headed out the room.

"Goodnight" Both Shizen and Ryūsei stated as they wave their hands to Yuki.

After Yuki left the two brothers, An awkward silence occurred in the room and after 30 mins Ryūsei decided to talk breaking the silence.

"Shizen, you're still injured right?" Ryūsei asked shocking Shizen.

"Why are you pushing yourself" Ryūsei added causing Shizen to smile.

"I see you've noticed it" Shizen stated as he smiled.

"When you grabbed my hand earlier, I've notice that you were having a hard time moving your right arm" Ryūsei stated.

"You're observation skills have improved, My injuries haven't fully healed but I'm still going to fight your sister tommorow" Shizen happily said

"If I don't she won't accept the victory tommorow no matter what" He added.

"But still you shouldn't push yourself" Ryūsei stated.

"We'll just see what happens tomorrow" Shizen happily said.

"Goodnight Ryūsei see you tomorrow" He added as he pats Ryūsei on the back and leaves the room.

After Shizen left Ryūsei remained in the living room until he fall asleep an hour later.

Ryūsei then woke up pretty early as the sky was still dark and the sun won't shine for 2 more hours.

He then heads to his room took a shower and prepares himself for the day.

After preparing himself he then headed to dining room ate his breakfast and headed out to the garden.

"Meteor Dragon Sword Dance" Ryūsei then chanted a spell and 8 white swords made of light appeared in the air behind Ryūsei.

"Meteor Dragon Photon Blade"Ryūsei then chanted a spell creating a white sword made of light in his right hand.

The floating white swords made of light then disperse away from Ryūsei and attacks him from all directions.

Ryūsei then practices his swordsmanship by using the photon blade in his hands.

He practiced there for an hour before he heard a familiar voice behind him.

"Big brother what are you doing here so early"

Ryūsei then around seeing a half awake Rei walking in the garden.

"Rei you're already awake?" Ryūsei exclaimed as the floating white swords and the photon blade in his hands disappeared.

"Did I wake you?" Ryūsei concernly asked.

"I'm sorry" He added.

"No big brother, Dad woke me up early" Rei happily replied.

"Are Shizen and Yuki awake yet?" Ryūsei asked.

"Yep, I saw both of them preparing for the match later" Rei replied causing Ryūsei to smile.

"Do you want to practice with me while we wait?" Ryūsei happily asked.

"Sure!" Rei happily said but unfortunately she suddenly look down afterwards with a frown on her face.

"Rei what's wrong?" Ryūsei curiously asked.

"It's just that I don't know how to control my Elemental Art..." Rei muttered.

"Do you want me to teach you the basics while we wait for them?" Ryūsei happily asked and Rei excitedly nodded in response.

Ryūsei and Rei then began to practice in the garden and after a while Yuki and Shizen headed outside and all of them headed to Arashi's Arena.

They arrived at the arena at mid noon because they had to visit their friends and ate a nearby cafe because Shizen forgot to his ate breakfast.

Everyone around the Kingdom arrived at the arena and they're all gathering at the spectators area waiting for the match to began.

Ryūsei however wasn't paying attention as he was thinking something he was feeling awfully strange.

"Rei said she wasn't capable of controlling her Elemental Art but wasn't she able control the weather back then" Ryūsei muttered in thought.

"It must've been instinct or maybe it's her ability... Still she's going to be a powerful Elementalist" He added.

But before Ryūsei could mutter in thought more the crowd around him started cheering as the match finally began.

"The 2nd match of the 2nd Round has finally began, Contestants please enter the arena" The announcer happily said.

"I'm your host for today Prof. Volt and with me is my partner Prof. Hex" He happily added.

The ground beneath the battlefield began spanning trees and after a few minutes it was covered with trees with a small river located in the center.

Both Yuki and Kayosha started walking towards the river while Shizen and Shadow started walking as well approaching them in the opposite direction.

They were then at the center of the battlefield with only a small river with separating the two teams.

"You better be ready Shad, I'm not planning to lose" Yuki stated.

"You too sweetie" Shadow replied.

"Let the match begin!!!" Prof. Volt stated.

"Water Dragon Severe Wave" Kayosha then chanted a spell releasing a tremendous amount of water from her mouth heading towards Shizen and Shadow.

"Nature Dragon Floral Frenzy" Shizen then chanted a spell slamming his left arm at the ground causing the ground to shake.

Huge vines covered with thorns appeared from the ground creating a huge wall block blocking the tremendous amount of water.

"Ice Dragon Blizzard Bow" Yuki then chanted a spell and a light blue bow made of Ice Dragon Energy appeared in her hand and she then quickly jumps across the river and above the huge vines.

"Ice Dragon Blizzard Strike" Yuki then chanted a spell gathering a tremendous amount of Ice Dragon energy to her arrow.

She then fires the arrow releasing a guided barrage of arrows heading towards Shadow.

"Shadow Dragon Dark Cloak" Shadow then chanted a spell turning his entire body into a shadow causing him to completely dodge Yuki's attack.

"Nature Dragon Floral Bark Prison" Shizen chanted a spell causing the trees around them to release vines made of tree bark and quickly tries to grab Yuki.

"Ice Dragon Blizzard Haze" Yuki then chanted a spell causing a small amount of haze surrounded her body freezing the vines that touches the haze directly.

"Don't forget about me!!" A familiar voice was heard.

"Shizen duck Yuki's just a diversion!!" Shadow yelled and Shizen immediately ducks to the ground.

"Water Dragon Tidal Sweep" Kayosha chanted a spell releasing a horizontal water slash cutting the huge wall of vines in half luckily Shizen manages to duck in time avoiding the attack.
