Chapter 44 - Nature Can Withstood Any Cold

"Shadow!!" Shizen yelled as he immediately ran towards to Shadow.

"Kayosha!!!" Yuki yelled as she immediately ran towards Kayosha.

Both Kayosha and Shadow were knocked out, Shadow was knocked out because of Yuki's attack and the frostbite while Kayosha was knocked out because of Shizen's attack and the paralysis poison.

The spectators were shocked seeing a double knockout, The tide of the match from a 2v2 became a 1v1. The outcome of the match was now decided by the two siblings.

Both Yuki and Shadow glared at each other, Both of them knew that their partner's sacrifice must not be in vain.

"Yuki before we fight I suggest we fight at the other side of the arena" Shizen stated shocking Yuki.

"It would be disaster if one of our attack hits Kayosha or Shadow" He added.

"Lead the way" Yuki replied and both Yuki and Shizen then climbed up the vine wall and both are know at the other side of the Arena away from Kayosha and Shadow.

"Nature Dragon Floral Frenzy" Shizen then chanted a spell and the ground then began to shake.

Large vines then came out of the ground below them wrapping the vine wall covering it with a thick layer of vines.

"There with that reinforce we can go all out without worrying for the both of them" Shizen stated as he readies himself to fight against his sister.

"I see so that's how it is" Yuki muttered as the tone of her voice then change, from the sweet and innocent voice to a cold and harsh one.

The environment around them began to freeze, The trees, The grass and the river was slowly covered in ice.

"I see... So you're going all out as well" Shizen muttered.

"I haven't seen this side of you ever since the last time we fought" He added.

"Dragon Sage Secret Art: Overgrowth Bloom" A mysterious green aura then surrounded Shizen's body.

Yuki then quickly dash towards Shizen freezing any obstacles in her way. She then tries to kick Shizen in the head but luckily he manages to block Yuki's attack.

Even though Shizen manages to block Yuki's attack using his right hand, Yuki's ability freezes everything around her covering it Shizen's right hand with ice.

Even though Shizen's right hand was covered in ice he quickly grabs Yuki's foot.

"Nature Dragon Floral Frenzy" Shizen the chants a spell causing the ground beneath them to shake. Large vines covered with thorns appeared from the ground heading towards Yuki.

"Ice Dragon Blizzard Haze" Yuki then chanted a spell causing a small amount of haze surrounded her body freezing the vines that touches the haze directly.

"Nature Dragon Bark Scale" Shizen then chants a spell covering his body with tree bark scales.

He then slams Yuki to the ground using his right hand shattering the ice around his body. Shizen is still holding on to Yuki's left leg even though his arm was slowly starting to be covered with ice again.

"Ice Dragon Blizzard Bow" Yuki then chanted a spell and a light blue bow made of Ice Dragon Energy appeared in her hand. A enormous amount of Ice Dragon energy then started to gather inside of an arrow.

"Ice Dragon-" Yuki muttered before she was slammed to ground again. Yuki then kicks Shizen trying to free her leg from Shizen's grasp.

She kicks again and again and after multiple attempts she manages to free her leg from Shizen. She quickly gets up and dashes towards Shizen while her arrow was still gather Ice Dragon energy.

Yuki then kicks Shizen two times using him as a launch pad making her launch up to the air.

"Ice Dragon Blizzard Blast" Yuki then chants a spell releasing the arrow with a tremendous amount of Ice Dragon energy and it's heading toward Shizen with devastating speed and intensity.

"Nature Dragon Floral-" Shizen tries to chant a spell but unfortunately the arrow hits the ground freezing everything inside the arena.

Everything in the arena was covered in ice, The trees, The grass and even the river was covered in ice and a large ice burg had appeared in which where the arrow has landed.

Yuki then lands on the ground with her bow vanishing into thin air and she fell to the ground sitting with the felt of exhaustion from both her injuries and the mana she lost.

The crowd goes wild, Everyone was shocked seeing how strong Yuki is, Even though she's young... She's already this powerful.

"Men- Yuki is so strong..." Kasai muttered.

"She may be strong but still, She looks so exhausted" Sora replied with a concern look on her face.

"Yuki could only chant "Blizzard Blast" two times a day, After that it completely drains her mana" Ryūsei stated.

"She won't last any longer" He added.

The ground beneath Yuki started to shake and tree bark came out of the ground beneath her trapping her inside of a tree bark sphere.

The tree bark sphere was then slice horizontally in half with Yuki using an ice arrow but after she manages to get out of the sphere she fell to the ground and the ice arrow disappeared from her hand.

"Looks like I'm out of mana... I can't even make a simple ice arrow" Yuki muttered.

Yuki then looks in front of her seeing someone standing behind a frozen tree. She was shocked seeing Shizen with his shirt completely torn revealing his injury.

His left shoulder was covered with a giant bruise with a visible frostbite and blood dripping out of it. She felt a sudden guilty suddenly inside her... Fearing the thought that it was her that cause his brother to obtain this type of injury.

"Shizen... I-I-I'm sorry..." Yuki stuttered trying to hold back her tears, She kept thinking that it was her fault.

"What are you talking about?" Shizen asked looking a bit confused. He then notices that his shirt was torn up and now he notices he's injuries was now revealed to the public.

"Yuki, you don't have to worry this isn't your fault" Shizen stated trying to cheer up Yuki. Even though they're enemies, She's still his sister.

"Even though I'm injured, Me and Shadow are still winning this fight" Shizen stated as he readies his stance.

"You're already too exhausted and you're almost out of mana, It's over" Shizen stated as he quickly dashes towards Yuki.

"Well even if I don't have any mana left, I'll still fight to the very end" Yuki stated.

"Ice Dragon Blizzard Claw" Yuki then chanted a spell gathering her remaining mana to her left hand creating an light blue claw-made of Ice Dragon energy.

Shizen then punches Yuki using his right hand but luckily Yuki manages to block his attack using her left hand. She then quickly launches a counter attack at Shizen but Shizen manages to withdraw in time dodging her attack.

They then started hand to hand combat with Shizen going full offensive while Yuki was being pushed back due to the lack of mana she has left and her exhaustion but even though she was pushed back she immediately launches a counter strike when openings occur.

But even if Yuki manages to block some of the attacks, She was still getting hit more and more as Shizen slowly adapts to Yuki's hand to hand fighting style.

Shizen was also taking some hits but not as much as Yuki due to him constantly activating "Floral Illusion" (A spell that let's him evade physical attacks) when Yuki was about to hits any vital points.

After a while of hand to hand close combat, the toll from both Shizen and Yuki injuries started to show.

Both of them could barely even stand, Even Shizen could barely even move because of the ice around his body from Yuki's attacks.

Both of them are extremely exhausted, They've used up every trick they have stored in there sleeves leaving the match with a standstill both of them refusing to faint.

The ice claw in Yuki's left hand slowly started to fade as the energy it had stored gathered in the palm of Yuki's left hand forming an ice sphere made of energy.

"Nature Dragon Floral Bark Scale" Shizen then chants a spell covering his entire right hand with scales made of tree bark.

Both of them quickly dashes towards each other launching their final assault, their final attack to end the match.

The clash of power between both attacks causes a gigantic explosion hitting both Yuki and Shizen covering them with a bright blue light made of energy.

After a few seconds the bright blue light disappeared revealing a giant crater in the arena with both Yuki and Shizen located at the center.

Shizen's entire right portion of his body was cover with ice from head to toe even the right portion of his hair was covered in ice.

Even though some parts of Shizen's body was covered in ice he was still standing but unfortunately for Yuki... She falls down to ground with a smile on her face.

"Yuki is down!!" Prof. Volt announced.

"Which means Team 1 won the match"

"Shizen and Shadow move on the second round"

The crowd started to cheer loud both of the teams did well, they showed their skill in front of everyone and all of them were impressed and amazed.

"She lost..." Rei muttered sadly causing Ryūsei to smile a bit.

"Don't be sad Rei, Both Yuki and Shizen did their best" Ryūsei exclaimed trying to cheer up her little sister.

"Yeah, Shizen is one tough cookie to crack" Kasai stated trying to cheer Rei up as well.

The medical team then entered the battlefield led by Haru Mizū The Aquarius Gadiān. They were task to and provide immediate medical aid to the participants of the match.

The medical team consist of A to B Rank Elementalist who studied on healing and recovery spells.

Most of the Elementalist in the medical team rushed towards Kayosha and Shadow located at the far right while Haru rushed over to Shizen and Yuki located in the far left.

"Water Dragon Tidal Heal" Haru then chants a spell covering both of her hands with water.

She immediately civers began healing both Yuki and Shizen while Kayosha and Shadow were stretcher out of the battlefield and were both taken to the hospital.

Shadow's body was cover with ice and some of his skins were covered with ice and frost bite while Kayosha on the other hand had paralysis poison inside her body.

After a while of healing both Yuki and Shizen, Yuki slowly wakes up but unfortunately she still can't stand properly.

"Haru..." Yuki muttered.

"Hold still I'm still healing the both of you" Haru stated as she continues to heal both of them.

"Oh sorry..." Yuki happily muttered with a smile on her face.

"Both of you did well, I'm proud" Haru added.

"Heal Yuki first, I'll be just fine" Shizen stated cause both Haru and Yuki to look at him.

"Shizen we're going to have a long talk later about your stubbornness, There's a proper place and a proper time to act tough but not right now" Haru stated with a concern tone in her voice.

"And the fact that you poisoned my little sister with your stupid paralysis poison" Haru added glaring at him causing Shizen to look away knowing he'd get himself killed later for the stunt he pulled.

"You two look adorable together" Yuki teased causing both Shizen and Haru to blushed.

"No we're not" Both yelled in unison with their face extremely red.

After a while the crowd left the spectators area while Yuki, Shizen and Haru were still in the battlefield.

Lucky for them the next match is scheduled tommorow because of the time needed to repair and restore the battlefield.

"Yuki!!! Shizen!!! Haru!!" Ryūsei yelled as he entered the battlefield along with Sora, Kasai and Rei.

They slowly walked towards to Shizen and Yuki except for Rei who immediatly ran to Yuki giving her a hug.

"You guys did great, You were both awesome" Kasai stated causing both Shizen and Yuki to smile.

"Thanks" Both Yuki and Shizen said in unison.

"I'm sorry you lost Yuki" Sora stated as she slowly approaches Yuki fixing her hair.

"It's okay, Shizen and Shadow deserve the win" Yuki replied.

"But we won't lose next time" She added as she turns around looking at her brother.

"The same goes for us" Shizen stated with a smile on his face
