As soon as the man left the room, she took a paper napkin and spit out the pill. She also took one pill and place it in her pocket. It has been a week now that she didn't take the medicine.
She feels lighter and clear-headed the past few days. Unlike before, she doesn't easily forget things now. She can retain simple memory as well. There were also some nights where she's having nightmares. But is it really a simple nightmare or just the subcutaneous wanting to show the repressed memories of her?
She's not sure either but she needs to know. After preparing herself, she took her car keys and got out from the house. Good thing that Silver have prior engagements today so she can go out all by herself.
Then she remembered Rio. She doesn't know but she felt secured whenever she's with him. Might as well ask for his help again. She called Rio's number but he's not answering the phone. He tried to call him thrice but to no avail.
Maybe he's a bit busy so she started the engine and drove to the hospital. As soon as she arrived at the Gentz Hospital, she looked for a neurosurgeon. The designated staff browsed their doctor's list and there! the staff gave Sherry a little direction so she could reach doctor Menzi's office. According to the staff, he's one of the best neuro doctor in the hospital.
She knocks on the door. After a few second, someone opened the door. Guess she's the secretary.
"Is doctor Menzi around?" she asked the lady in front of her.
"I'm sorry Madam, but Doctor Menzi have an appointment until Eleven. He'll be back by twelve in the afternoon. Are you willing to wait?"
"Yes I will wait." Sherry answered. She looked at her wristwatch. We'll, one hour and thirty minutes shouldn't be that long. she heaved a sigh.
***Demetrius was with Archie when his phone rang three times. It was sherry who was calling him. How he wanted to take the call but he repressed his desires. Not now, not yet. His daughter needs him right now. Then he recalled the day where Aisha broke down.
Aisha didn't want to involve him because of that woman before. But he needs to show her that he is willing to assist her without any other distraction. He needs to help his daughter first.
"Are you sure not to return her call? What if it's important?" Archie saw Rio's hesitation.
"Her problem is out of my concern." He talked indifferently.
"I don't think Aisha would mind if you answer her call."
"Not now. My daughter needs me. This time, I won't disappoint her."
Archie shrug his shoulder. Well, if that's what he wants then so be it.
"I'll just go and visit Caleb." Archie uttered then exited the room. Rio also decided to see Aisha. Maybe she woke up already.
As soon as Rio got out from the house, he saw Ethan drove his car away. Seems like his going to work since his wearing his usual business attire.
Rio continued walking towards the other building. He knocks on the door but no one answered so he just opened the door. He looked around but Aisha isn't in the bed. Where could she possibly be? Wait! Don't tell me she went ----! No!
Rio was about to go out when the door to the shower room opened. He spun around to see a woman dressed nicely while drying her hair with a towel.
"Dad!" she exclaimed. Rio's face softens. He thought Aisha went out again.
"Aisha. going somewhere?" he went inside and sat on the empty couch. Aisha followed.
"I'm planning to go at hunter's shop after I visit Caleb."
"Hunter?"
"Yes, It's Hunter, Caleb's friend. He's been helping us since then."
Ah! That genius freak! Rio remembers him very well. How could he forget about that guy who's good at sabotaging plans? He was silent for a few seconds when he heard his daughter.
"Dad? Do you also think that we need to go back to the North? Where we truly belong?" her voice was a bit emotional.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm just thinking about the organization. Don't you think that it's time for me to manage it?"
Rio was in deep thought. Indeed, he proclaimed Aisha as the heiress but it doesn't look like she really wants to take over. It sounded more of an excuse to avoid her situation right now. Did she had a fight with Ethan?
"Did you and Ethan had a misunderstanding?" Rio suddenly asked.
Aisha stood up and went near the window. She can't even answer his father's question.
"Aisha, I don't feel like you really want to take over my position. Your heart is not on it; I can sense that. If you are thinking of escaping your current situation, don't even try to do that. You should fix it rather. Running away is never a solution. That's cowardice."
Aisha lowered her head in defeat.
"Is it about Ethan?" Rio continued. She nodded.
"We are not meant to be together; I knew that since the beginning. So before all hell breaks loose, I want to end it as soon as possible."
"Is that really what your heart wants to do?"
"Ehm." Her tone isn't convincing enough.
"Sweetheart, tell me, do you love him?" Rio stood up and went near her.
"I'm afraid yes."
"How about him? do you think he loves you?"
"That… I guess yes. Last night he asks me to stay with him—Forever, despites knowing that I am a fake."
"What did you tell him?"
"I didn't give an answer, dad. I don't know as well. I can't possibly covet my sister's husband—her family! What if—What if one day she comes back and take everything that she originally owned? What if she'll hate me for that? I can't possibly take what isn't mine in the first place, right?"
Rio sighed. She's definitely right. But as far as what he knew, Stacy never wanted Eli nor Ethan in the first place. Master Omni said that it was Stacy who left her family first. Also, according to the old man, Ethan married Stacy because he thought that she was Erika, his childhood friend who once saved him. So if someone looks at it in a different perspective, no matter how complicated it is, the fact is, it was Erika whom Ethan really loves—and that's Aisha for sure!
Did Aisha even know about that story?
"I don't think your sister Stacy really cares about her family. As far as I know, it was Stacy who left them in the first place. But what I'm sure of is that, it was you whom Ethan loves. I can't possibly dictate your heart and I can't change your decision. But before you do something, make sure that you won't regret your decision ever." Rio walked towards the door.
"I don't want you to end up like me. I didn't even try to fight, to risk and to do what my heart really wants. The horror of my past decision keeps on hunting me all these years. Please do something that you won't ever regret. Remember that we only live once. We can never bring back the lost times. Think about it sweetheart. Once you made up your mind then let me know."
Then Rio went out leaving Aisha in a trance.
"We only live once. Do something that your heart really wants, something you won't ever regret." Aisha was pondering on Rio's words.
Can I really take the risk? Her thoughts were from a far.Is it even worth it?
