198 CHAPTER 198: FAILED PRETENSE

She was a mama's girl when she was young. She knew her mom very well; the way she dresses, the way she braids her hair and how graceful she acts, walks and talks. She's an ultimate woman one could ever dream of. That's why she was wondering why she didn't recognize Sherry during their first meeting. Could it be because the hate that she'd been covering for the past years resurfaced? Did her heart recognize the woman's aura? Maybe.

Ah, enough of that lingering thought for a while. She might hate her mom but she can't despise her forever. She is still their mom and she should be happy to know that she's alive. She'll just get the whole story after they save her. Yes, Stacy need Sherry asap.

She wore the nurse outfit that she stole earlier then placed the mask on her face. It should be enough to cover half of her face so no one could recognize her, not even Silver. She made sure to check Sherry's doctor schedule because she will need to sneak inside her room. After a few hours, she spotted the doctor making ready for his round with some nurses beside him.

She inaudibly walks with them as they took the elevator going up. She can sense that the other two nurses kept on glancing on her. The doctor must have catch their uneasiness so he asked her.

"Lady, have we ever met before?" The good-looking middle age doctor asked.

"I'm sorry for not introducing myself directly. My name is Shane and the department nurse had just assigned me to assist you just for today." She faked a smile while crossing her fingers, hoping he believes her.

"Oh okay." The doctor uttered but one can see a bit of doubt on his face. But then after a while, the elevator opened so the awkward atmosphere somehow dissipated.

Meanwhile, Ethan went back to his office. His works had been piling up since the other day and Larry must be so tired by now for taking care of his workloads for the past few days. Ah, that poor old man. He sighed.

As soon as Larry saw Ethan, he run to him with a vexed expression.

"Is something wrong?" Ethan asked.

"Sir, you need to see this." Then Larry handed him the tablet.

When Ethan read the reports, he clenched his fist. One could determine that he can kill someone anytime. He darted to his office immediately and as soon as he entered the room, he punched his glass table.

"Who dared to do this?!" He yelled. "He must have a death wish, huh." He was clenching his teeth. Then once again, he stared at the reports. How could such things happen overnight? A few investors back out and two shipping companies withdrew from them. What the hell is happening? Could this have something to do with the golden egg? He thought.

"Larry..." He finally calmed down.

"Yes Sir..."

"Find out the reason why these investors backed out, as well as the two shipping company. Report it back to me as soon as possible." Ethan ordered.

"I understand." Larry then exited the office as soon as Ethan was done giving orders.

Ethan was left in daze. If Silver is really behind all his loss, then he doesn't need to worry. Anyway, his end is near and his loss will definitely become a victory after. He grinned.

But then he thought of Aisha. what could she possibly be thinking by now? he then picked up his phone and dialed her phone number.

On the other hand, Aisha's phone was ringing but she can't pick it up right now. They are about to enter the room so she can't act suspiciously. It is indeed guarded heavily but thank God that both the nurses and the doctor was wearing a mask before they entered. The guards seem to know them so they didn't check them out.

"Doctor, it's good to see you. I was about to call you to asked why my wife hadn't wake up yet. It's been two days now. She should be conscious by now, right?" Silver asked.

"I'm not sure why Mr. gray. She's out of danger now but all we need to do right now is wait." He assured him.

"She can't possibly go in a coma, right?"

"her injury is not that deep so she shouldn't be in a coma. But we will run some test again tomorrow to make sure of it."

"Please do." Silver replied. "Also, I was planning to bring her home after the test tomorrow. Please continue to check on her at my house."

Aisha raised her brow when she heard the man. What is he thinking? Why does she feel like Silver fears something? Hmmm. no, please. Don't agree... Aisha was silently praying since it'll be harder for her to rescue Sherry once they gone home at Silver's residence.

"I understand your concern Mr. Gray, however, in her condition right now, it's better if we keep her here for a while. We still need to run some random test on her." the doctor responded.

"But I'm sure that I have the necessary equipment at home!" he insisted.

"Mr. Gray, do you want your wife to recover as soon as possible?" the doctor doesn't fear him. "If she remains unconscious until tomorrow, then something is wrong with her by then. Do you want to risk her health by bringing her home?"

"Of course I don't!" he yelped.

"Then please follow the hospital protocol." He was firm.

Aisha, who was listening to the whole conversation sighed a relief. She can't understand but why does she feels something isn't right with the doctor. it's as if… he's as if protecting the unconscious woman!

"We'll be going for now, Mr. gray. Please let us know if you need something." Then the doctor walked towards the door. Then the nurses followed.

Unknown.to anyone, Aisha has been assessing the room along with the men who was guarding outside. Then when they excited the room, she made sure to memorize the CCTV camera locations one by one. Then her mind silently started to plan. She needs to save Sherry no matter what happen.

Because of her profound thought, she didn't notice that they had already reach the nurse station and the two male nurses started working on their drafts.

"Lady, where are you station at?" the doctor suddenly asked. She was dumbfounded. Oh no, what will she say?

"E-Emergency room!" she shrieked.

The doctor creased his brow. "Can you give me your supervisor's name? I think it's not fair for you to be assigned in that room while working at the emergency room. that's unfair for you. Don't worry, I'll make sure to talk to your supervisor to fix your schedule."

Aisha doesn't know what to say. What will she do now? Seems like this doctor knew that she's a fake. She was a bit restless while trying to think of a more concise reason.

"I don't think it's necessary. Please excuse me, I have to go back to my post." She tried to remain calm as she turns around, ready to leave.

"Ha-ha-ha!"

she halted when she heard the doctor's mocking laugh.

"Lady, you're not a good actress. If you came here to spy out, you should have come thoroughly prepared. Unfortunately, you failed today." the doctor voiced.

Aisha was rooted to where she was standing. "What? he knew?!" her eyes widened then immediately, she turned around to see the man but he is nowhere to be found. He left just like that!?

"Wait, what does this mean? Isn't he going to report me to Silver?" she confusedly asked while trying to recall the doctor's name. she needs to talk to him.
