She was telling stories nonstop. Her cheerfulness echoed in the room and Aisha was happy to know that her sister is getting brighter and brighter each day. one more week then she'll be good to undergo the bone marrow transplant.
"And do you know? Mom was very kind and she loves going to the parks as well." then Stacy narrated the first time they visited the nearby park.
Aisha smiled. now she's sure that the old man who told her about the doppelganger thingy was not lying. Stacy was definitely in the park that day. Unfortunately, they didn't meet. Maybe, that day was not yet the right time. but what if they met that moment? would the story change? Will it prevent Stacy's worsen condition? She was thinking.
"Erika, are you okay?" Stacy asked. She's not yet accustom to call her sister Aisha so she prefers to call her by her true name.
"Eh? Ehm… Yes." she fakes a smile.
"Is there something that bothers you? you can tell me; you know that right?"
"No, I'm fine." Aisha assured her.
"Okay, since you said so." She beams. "And what about mom? How are you going to save her?"
Aisha jolted but she straightened up herself. she can't possibly tell Stacy that Sherry was in the hospital because she tried to take her life.
"We're all trying to come up for a better plan. As you know, Silver is not an easy opponent to go against to. But I promise you, we will get her."
"I believe you will. I'm just excited to see us become whole again." Stacy was full of hope.
Aisha smiled but deep inside her, she was feeling a little scared. though she doesn't know why and where it came from.
After a few minutes, Aisha's phone rang so she excused herself from Stacy and answered the call.
"Hello, dad?"
"Where are you right now?"
"I'm with Stacy. Is everything okay?"
"I'll be there in a few minutes, wait for me."
"Eh? O-okay." Aisha doesn't know why but seems like Rio was in a rush. As soon as the call got disconnected, Aisha went back to see Stacy.
"Who is it?" her twin asked.
"Ah, it's Rio. he is on his way here." Aisha smiled.
"Didn't you say he was the one who took you in when you left the orphanage? Is he kind to you?" she hesitantly asked.
Aisha seems to understand what Stacy really wants to asked so she chuckled.
"If I could describe him, I could say he is the best father in the world." Her eyes were beaming with joy. "He took me in even though I was rude to him during our first meeting. He saved me from those bad guys and he also taught me how to defend myself. But what I appreciate about him the most was him, being the best father I could ever asked for." She paused when she recalls Rio's goodness towards her.
"He treated me like his own. And I never felt alone all my life. he was too far from Cole. I thought all fathers are as evil as Cole but he changed my perspective. I'm sure you will like him once you meet him too."
"Do you really think that he will like me too?" Stacy was curious.
"Of course! He even visited you before but you were still unconscious that time so he didn't have the time to say hi."
"Robert was a good father to me as well, but I also want to meet the man who raised you. I would like to give my gratitude to him for raising you into a very fine woman."
They both chuckled happily. Unknown to them, Rio was already standing at the door when he heard Aisha talking about him so he halted. He was touched by what he heard. But as much as he was impressed, he was curious about Cole. Why did Aisha say? She thought all fathers are evil? Was Cole not a good father to them? It's kind of impossible since he loved Cherry-Ann that much. Now he was thinking. No sane father would ever hurt their children.
When he heard the twins' crisp laughs, he decided to knock on the door. Aisha stood up and opened it. she saw Rio standing before her.
"Dad! We were just talking about you. come in!" she held Rio's arm and both walked towards Stacy's bedside.
"Stacy, He is my daddy Demetrius, the best ever father in the world." She introduced with sarcasm.
"Hi Mr. Demetrius, I am glad to finally see you." Stacy laid her hand.
"It's my pleasure to see you Stacy." He shook her hand. "You can just call me Rio or better yet dad or father just how your sister calls me."
"Eh?" Stacy was taken aback. Then she looked at her sister Erika who was looking at her with a smile.
"But Mr. Rio…" she paused when Rio looked at him indifferently.
"R-Rio…" Stacy smiled. "I just wanted to say thank you for raising my sister very well."
"I'm actually wondering if I really raised her well." he sighed. "She's stubborn, hardheaded and what not. She's giving me headache most of the times."
"Dad! Your exaggerating again!" Aisha hit Rio's arm lightly.
"Oh see that? she doesn't even respect me at all? can you believe that?" he blurted.
"Dad!" Aisha pouted while Rio laughed coyly.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please clickfor visiting.
"Isn't it true?" then he laughed to his heart content. Stacy who was looking at the two as father and daughter tandem feels like they were a real deal. She was staring at Rio intently when she remembered something. Wait, he looks familiar. Stacy was sure that she had seen him before. then she fell in daze.
After a few minutes, she bolts from the blue.
"That's it! I remember you now!" she exclaimed.
Rio and Aisha was surprise at her sudden claim. They were both gazing at her.
"Stacy, what did you mean?" Aisha's brow crinkled.
"Earlier, I was thinking that you're a bit familiar." She was touching her jaw. "But I think I remember now. but it's kinda impossible, maybe I was wrong. cause if it is, then this is too much of a coincidence." Now she's blurting questions after questions all out once.
"By any chance, do you know Sherry Gray? like few years ago?" Stacy looked at Rio with so much confusion in her eyes.
Rio and Aisha was dumbfounded. Rio himself knew that he never had the chance to see the twins when they were little so it's impossible that Stacy had ever seen him. Aisha on the other hand was surprised. she knew the tragic relationship between her mother and Rio since doctor Dakota told her about it—although not all, but she somehow had an idea as to what happen.
"Yes, I knew her. why?" Rio simply answered since he thought it would be as simple as a Q&A portion. But he never thought that it would cause an unexplainable sadness on Stacy's side.
Stacy suddenly frowned. Rio and Aisha stared at each other when they saw how she glowered.
"Stacy?" Aisha was a bit worried. "What's the matter?"
She painfully smiled. "I-I just remembered mom when we we're still young. whenever daddy Cole hurts her, she always held the picture of her and a man in a Ferris wheel. She always held it close to her heart as she cries out desperately."
"A picture taken in the Ferris wheel?" Rio raised his brow. Didn't he take a photo of him and Sherry when they we're in the Ferris wheel, the night that Rio proposed to her? Does that mean that Sherry had it with her all those years? But why? Now Rio has a lot questions in mind.
