229 CHAPTER 229: ESCAPED

He knew that what he just said had puzzled him. Of course, he knew how wise the man is. He is knowledgeable and is wise that he cannot be fooled easily. He can read in between the lines and that he won't stop thinking about some things unclear to him.

Silver wanted to trigger the always high and mighty Rio and that he wanted to see Sherry panic in fear. Ah, why is he suddenly enjoying taunting the two? Guess he won't let them be happy while he was bound in jail.

He saw how Rio creased his brow when he slowly spun around to meet his eyes. he grinned within him.

"Tell me…" he heard the man spoke. ah, the sound of desperation needing to know the truth reach Silver's ears. Isn't it beautiful and sweet? He felt contented. He was about to open his mouth but then he was interrupted.

"Is that what you were expecting to hear from me?" Rio raised his lip contemptuously. "Do you really think that I will believe whatever words that'll come out from your mouth? Silver, I love to know the truth, nothing but the truth… but I will never ever ask it from you."

"Are you sure about that? or perhaps, you're afraid to know the truth?'' Silver was trying to get on his nerves.

Sherry wanted to interrupt their heated argument but she was afraid that she'll just aggravate the situation. So holding on Rio's arm with a shaking hand is all that she could do.

Rio can feel the tense emitting from the woman's body since her shivering hand speaks it all.

"If provoking me gives you a bit of happiness then go, taunt me all you want. But I don't want to hear any rubbish from a nonsensical person like you." He indifferently voiced. "If I were you, you should spend your time reflecting all of your sins and how to compensate for each of them."

Then Rio turned and held the woman's waist as they exited the room. they were already outside when they heard the man laughed frantically inside. They stared at each other's eyes for a few seconds. Puzzlement can be seen in their faces.

"Let's not spend so much time here, Ethan is waiting for us." Rio uttered so they rushed out.

Unknown to anyone, Silver had a phone with him. on how he got it? well, anything is possible to a man who got a lot of money.

"Let everyone know that they will be moving me at the NCB quarter tonight." He pressed the sent button and after a few seconds, his phone vibrated.

"Copy that Sir."

As soon as the door opened, he immediately hides the phone at the sole of his shoes. Yeah, he definitely has a lot of tricks under his sleeves.

"Huh, Rio, Sherry… just so you wait." he murderously whispered before the officer came to fetch him.

Meanwhile, Sherry had been strangely quiet during the whole drive. Rio must have notice her fingers circling around each other, but he chose not to ask what's wrong. Most of the time, when Sherry is nervous about something, she usually does that to her fingers. She looks perturbed. Is it about what Silver was about to say earlier?

Rio knew that the woman was hiding something from him but he doesn't want to force her mouth. he wanted Sherry to voluntarily disclose everything--- as in everything. But he can wait until the woman have full confidence and trust in him. he should not rush everything. Anyway, everything that had happened in the dark will soon be exposed to light--- in the right time.

"Are you okay?" Rio innocently asked.

The woman juddered in surprise. "Ehm, y-yeah…" she faked a smile.

After a few minutes, they have reached the Gentz hospital and went to see Ethan directly. He was not at Stacy's room but the room beside it.

"Ethan!" Sherry exclaimed when he saw the young man standing while looking at the man who was unconsciously sleeping on the bed.

"Miss Sherry, Mr. Rio…" he turned around to greet them.

"You said you have an information about Aisha's location, where is she?" Sherry burst.

"I'm sorry Miss Sherry but I don't have her exact location yet..." he paused. "But I think this young man knew something."

Rio and Sherry walked beside the sleeping man. "Who is he?" She asked.

"I don't have any idea about his identity. But he came to the company and I think he was looking for me." then Ethan relayed what happened next.

"You said, he shouted Aisha's name?" Rio confirmed what he heard.

"Yes. and the last thing I heard from him was that Aisha sent him." Ethan replied. "We just have to wait for him to wake up. The doctors said that his body was dehydrated and fainted due to over fatigue. And if you look at him, it seems like he had traveled a long journey."

"Ah poor boy…" Sherry sighed. "So when will he wake up then?"

Ethan looked at his wristwatch. "He'll probably wake up sooner or later since the recuperating medicine is only good for five hours."

"Then let's just wait." Rio suggested and went to sit on the couch. Sherry followed then Ethan as well.

They've been waiting for an hour now and Sherry couldn't fight of her drooping eyelids so she decided to lay on the couch for a couple of minutes. Waiting isn't the two men's expertise as well and so they decided to get some fresh air for the time being. Both men took a coffee and head to the rooftop. It was the only place where they could see the beauty of the whole city.

It's kinda relaxing.

"So how are you holding on?" Rio suddenly uttered.

"You mean what?" Ethan looked at the old man after sipping his brewed coffee.

"With everything. Knowing about your parents and Aisha still missing?"

Ethan heaved a heavy sigh. Then he looked at the horizon with an empty emotion.

"I don't know. seems like a lot of things had happened for the past few months that I couldn't distinguish reality from imagination anymore. I wish everything is a dream; my parent's dying in a simple car accident and not because of someone intently killing them." he explained. "But I think grandfather was the most hurting one right now."

"I'm sorry to hear that son." Rio tapped the young man's shoulder.

Ethan smiled. at least for now, he can feel a father's concern for the first time.

"But I'm sorry that I wasn't able to protect your daughter." He lowered his head in guilt.

"Ethan… stop blaming yourself. it's no one's fault and nobody saw it coming. Let's just hope that she and the baby is doing fine right now."

"Yeah, your right." he finally smiled. "I really don't know what to do if something happens to them." he sighed.

After a few more minutes, they went back to the room where they left Sherry sleeping. However, they panicked when they didn't saw anyone inside.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.novelhall.comfor visiting.

"Sherry!" Rio yelped and was about to check the surroundings but the door to the bathroom suddenly opened.

Sherry was assisting the young man and so Rio and Ethan heaved a sigh of relief. They couldn't help thinking that something might had happened while they're gone.

"Oh you're here. I was about to call you but he was having a hard time standing so I escorted him for the meantime." The woman explained.

The young man thanked Sherry after he went back on the bed. They also prepared a meal for him, so after munching a light meal, Sherry sat on the edge of the bed waiting for the man to speak out.

"Thank you for the food and I'm sorry for the inconvenience I had caused you." he looked at Ethan in the eyes. "Perhaps, your are Ethan, am I correct?"

"Ehm…" he nodded and went closer to the young man.

"My name is Les and miss Aisha told me to send you a letter. It was address to Mr. Demetrius and Mr. Ethan, however, the ship that I rode the other night was caught into a sea storm. I couldn't send the letter since my luggage was one of those things that the crew tossed in the ocean so I tried looking for you instead."

"Where is she? What happened to her? is she alright? Please Les, tell us how she is." Sherry asked questions at once.

The man was about to speak when Rio's phone ringed. He excused himself and answered the phone. But then the people in the room jolted when they heard him roar.

"What did you say? Silver escaped?!" he was clenching the phone tightly while listening to the story from the man over the phone. Damn! He cursed.
