"If two hearts are meant to be together, no matter how long it takes, how far they go, how tough it seems, fate will bring them together to share their love forever."– unknown.
She was staring at the paper bags that Ethan bought for her. her room was not that wide so she was thinking where to place those items. Her drawer and closet was already full and it doesn't have enough space for the new dresses. Ah, is she going to buy another closet? Now she's perplexed.
She was in trance for a minute or two when Ethan tapped her to bring her back to reality. Ah, she did it again! She spaced out. she apologized and went back to the food. eh, can she skip dinner instead? She thought but of course, she doesn't want to waste the man's money so she tried finishing off her food.
Unknown to her, the man was having a good time watching her secretly. Ethan couldn't explain her facial reaction. She simply doesn't like the food but she was trying to empty the plate. He could sense the woman's tears trying to come out from her eyes. but instead of pitying her, he was laughing within him. ah, she looks so cute.
After their dinner, Ethan decided to send Alex home but she refused. She doesn't want to burden the man since she knew how busy he is.
"I'll just get a cab from here." She insisted.
"Alex, you sure know that your things are on my car. Do you want to bother Max that much?" Ethan was trying to hit her conscience.
"Eh?" the woman replied. She doesn't want to trouble max but she doesn't want Ethan to go through the hassle of getting into the narrow street going to her apartment.
"But…"
"No buts... just get in." the man shoved the woman at the backseat before he followed.
After a few minutes, they have reached a crossroad. Alex told them to drop her in a corner since the car can't go through the narrow street. It'll only harm the expensive car, that's for sure.
She didn't want to bother Ethan so she agreed to have max carry all the items instead. And when max came back from the woman's apartment, he reported what he saw to his boss.
"It was an apartment complex. It has two rooms but it was actually small. I think the normal rooms that we have at the hotel is even wider than what she has." Max reported.
"Okay. good job. let's head back to the hotel then."
Meanwhile, Alex went back to fixing her room. Mira can't possibly see those expensive items. Though she's just three years old, she had an incredibly advance mindset like that of a teenager. Might as well save some time from her scrutiny.
After fixing her closet, she went down to the old landlady's apartment to fetch Mira. she was thankful enough that the old grandma loves to watch over her child as if she was her own granddaughter.
"Thank you aunt Drew!" Alex kissed the old woman in the cheek before they exited her house.
"Mom, what took you so long?" the young girl asked.
"Ah, that, mom went for an interview and got a new job." she was smiling wide.
"Really?" she was happy for her mother as well. "Then we can attend the school's outing next week then?"
"Eh? Outing? Next week?" she was thinking. "Baby, I will try to talk to my boss, okay?" she stooped to meet her eyes.
"Okay." her tone has a hint of sadness which Alex didn't fail to notice. Then she went to her room with a defeated look. The little kid knew that her mother's uncertainty also means no, she can't make it.
Alex heaved a heavy sigh. She wanted to accompany her daughter on their school outing but what will she do? she can't possibly ask for vacation leave since she had just landed a new job.

"I brought you your favorite food." Rio took out the lunch boxes on the paper bag and laid it in front of him. "Cherry prepared this especially for you."
The man sneered contemptuously. "How many times have I told you, stop showing your face here! I don't need any charity from you."
"Silver…" Rio voiced. "Don't you think it's time to let go of your hatred? Life is too short so why don't you enjoy it too?"
"Coming from you? huh!" he scoffed. "Stop pretending to be a good man Rio. I know you hate me so much for what had happened to your daughter. Do yourself a favor and stop coming here. The next time you come, I will make sure to alarm the security." Then Silver stood up and went back to his cell.
Rio heaved a heavy sigh. All he wanted to do is live a peaceful life and that includes mending the broken relationship he had with Silver. Three years ago, he was able to understand why Silver has to be a villain. If only he knew it early then he should have done something to prevent it. but what is meant to happen does really happen.
He wanted to let Silver know that he and Cherry had forgiven him for all the things he had done. The help he extended towards Stacy when she was a child by helping her with her heart treatment and his will to help Cherry when she was about to drown, it was more than enough for Rio. he is happy to have his family back, although not complete since Aisha was long gone.
"I'm still hoping for the day that you will repent for all the things that you did, brother. I hope you'll find time to forgive yourself and the people around you and live your remaining days at peace." He whispered before he left the prison.
It was a life sentence penance. The supreme court had issued a life-sentence chastisement as a punishment for Silver. He was supposed to be in a death row but Rio did everything in his power to stop that from happening. He still considers the man his brother, though half, but he wanted the man to reflect on his actions while in prison.
Rio made sure to visit Silver once a month, sometimes twice, but he made sure to show himself to him. Silver hated it whenever he appears in front of him and he always refuses to see him. but Rio could see some changes on his behavior for these past months.
"Where are you right now?" he called his wife, Cherry.
"I'm at Jane's school right now. are you coming to pick us up?" the woman blissfully asked.
"Yup! Wait for me." then he set off.
On the other hand, Silver was supposed to go back to his cell when one of the guards called him out.
"You have another letter." He said smilingly. "Same sender."
Silver immediately dash towards the guard and thankfully received the envelope. as soon as he reached his bed, he immediately opened the letter. He was about to read it when one of his cell mates spoke.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.novelhall.comfor visiting.
"Oh, you got a good friend out there huh." The old man taunted him. "Sending letters every week, that's absurd!
"Good friend? Yeah I guess she is." He smiled. then he remembered the time he met the little kid.
"Are you not afraid of me?" he spoke murderously but the little kid didn't even bat an eyelid. What a fearless lad!
The little kid raised her brow questioningly. "Why should I, old man? besides, you can't possibly hurt me, right?"
Silver was taken aback but the kid's next statement shocked him even more.
"Your lonely and sad. You don't have friends too." The little kid uttered when she saw that the man was sitting in an isolated bench. "Do you wanna be friends?" she innocently smiled.
"Little kid, I don't like you and I don't like kids. Go away." He shews her from his presence. However, the lad seems to have been unmoved by his gestures so he scoffed.
"Don't you have any friends' young lady?" he was irritated.
"They don't like me."
Silver creased his brow. "Why is that? are you that rude?"
"No. they don't like me because I don't have a father."
"Eh?" Silver was a little surprise to hear the child's response. He was also considered a bastard when he was a kid because he was a son of a concubine. He definitely understands how it feels to be bullied because of that.
"Young lady, what is your name?" he instantly looked at the child's big blue eyes who slowly smiled at him.
"Mira. Miracle Miran." Then she raised her right hand. "Friends?" she was smiling wide.
Silver beamed. "Silver. Silver Gray." He raised his hand to shake the girl's hand. "Friends."
