On the streets in the middle of the night, the world is quiet, and the noise that remains in the night becomes more and more obvious. You can vaguely hear the barking of dogs and the collision of beer bottles. Your hearing and sense of smell seem to be more acute. Lanli can clearly smell the faint tobacco smell under his nose, mixed with the damp and cold in the early morning, lingering at his fingertips.
Finally, the idea became clear, and lanli finally understood what the missing puzzle was. But instead of being satisfied with this, Lan Li pondered further: Why did he lose this jigsaw puzzle?
Obviously, the thinking just now is not expressionist acting skills. If we follow the way of thinking and context of the Academy's acting school, then lanli's performance just now is successful, and the details can be carved slowly, but the depiction and deduction of emotions are correct and accurate, which is sufficient for the film.
But the biggest difference between film and drama is that——
The depth and connotation of drama is more reflected through the script itself. For example, Shakespeare's plays, lines and plots, a large number of complicated and gorgeous sentences show the hidden history, philosophy, culture and other details between the lines. This is mainly because of the limitation of the stage and the distance between the stage and the audience, so that the performance details of the actors can easily be submerged in the whole space.
The depth and connotation of the film is very complex. The lens of the director, the text of the script, the performance of the actors and so on are all components. In the final analysis, it is the lens composition of the director. How to make full use of the actors' performance, the structure of the picture, the light projection and the depth of the lines to present the core depth of the plot? There is no doubt that the director is the absolute helmsman of the whole work.
Langley's performance just now is enough for the drama, and the details of those expressions can't be captured. But in the film shooting, especially in Tony's lens, every delicate change of expression is truly recorded with super close-up. Then following the previous performance, the core idea of the script text will become blurred.
Therefore, Lan Li explored and pursued along with the context of the role, explored the life state of the role, and then constructed the resonance between the role and the story, and even the connection between the role and the whole script. This is not expressionism, but more methodology.
Of course, after reentering in the performance, the way of performance is still expressionism - the focus is not on whether Langley can resonate with Henry's experience in a Methodist way, but on Tony's lens, Langley needs to stay in this state, struggling on the desperate life and death line, from numbness to shock, sadness, despair, pain, avoidance and evasion, Then it returns to numbness, and finally it shocks again, and then it changes.
Tony's focus is to record the delicate changes of the whole emotion, which reflects the depth and height of the whole work.
Therefore, expressionism is still lanli's first choice, but the starting point of emotion must be slightly adjusted: the mood of collapse due to sadness and the mood of collapse due to despair. These are two different ways of performance. The changes of eyes, expressions and movements will give the characters different touch.
If you just follow the emotional drive of the Methodist School, the emotion will be strong and fierce enough, and it will be on the right track, but the subtle differences can't be distinguished. Let alone the level and depth, even the transition will be vague. The three-stage structure and two turns of the whole play will not be displayed at all. Under Tony's microscope, this kind of performance will be slightly rough and deliberate, losing the authenticity of the fake documentary.
Only Expressionists can meet the requirements of Langley and stand the test of Tony.
But what's interesting is that Langley once again combines the two ways of performance, and it's quite different from any previous work. Is this going to work?
From the point of view of the third party, whether it is methodology or expressionism, including experiential school, in the final analysis, performance is still performance, and the core meaning lies in the role. With the actor's own understanding, interpret and deduce the role, and then serve the film.
The advantages of expressionism lie in precision, level and control, the advantages of Methodism lie in selflessness, involvement and vividness, and the advantages of experiential school lie in integration, reality and liveliness. Each way of performance has its own advantages and disadvantages, as well as its own characteristics. So, can Lan Li learn from each other's strong points to make up for its weak points and put into the performance with his own understanding? Instead of trying to distinguish between different ways of acting.
This is a bold guess. But lanli also knows that he can't chew too much. Now he can't even say that he is a master in any single way of performance. He can only say that he is on the right track. He wants to fly without learning how to run, and the result can only be broken to pieces. He can embrace the dream of flying, and then grind his walking and running skills down to earth. One day, he can fly.
I took a deep breath, temporarily gathered up my divergent thoughts, and began to think about the scene again.
After the idea of the whole performance became clear, things became relatively simple. This is what lanli is good at. The origin, development, transformation and settlement of emotions, and even the surge and boiling of emotions, all of a sudden, his mind began to become noisy. Instead of rushing back to the crew, lanli kept going around in circles, practicing over and over again, pondering over every turn, and his brain gradually became bright.
However, in the end, the paper is just empty shelf, the specific how or to the actual demonstration to know.
Lanli quickly returned to the crew, and did not find the depression of the crew. Instead, he went straight to Tony and exchanged a few words. Lanli said that he would put in the performance first. It was not only Tony who needed to taste, but also lanli who needed to reconsider. He must examine his performance through the lens, only in this way can he have a more three-dimensional thinking space for the whole performance.
Tony nodded in agreement.
Sammy's eyes always follow lanli's movement. She is nervous. Seeing lanli return to the bus, she runs to the bus. But after only two steps, the makeup artist's cry comes, "stop, stop, you have to make up!"
Unlike lanli, Sammy has to wear makeup on the stage, and for the role, she also has to wear heavy makeup. Just now, Sammy was crying so much that her make-up had already been spent. She completely forgot about it and wanted to appear on camera. Naturally, the makeup artist would not make such a mistake.
In fact, lanli also needs makeup. Instead of putting on make-up, wipe the residual tears on your cheeks to make sure you can take a fresh look in a new round of shooting. The makeup artist who belongs to lanli also trots all the way into the bus and starts to be busy.
Sammy's eyes kept turning, looking around at the crew. Everyone is extremely tired and irritable, but they have to suppress it. It's like a volcano preparing to erupt, but it has been suppressed. If the wind and waves are calm, it may also be suppressed quietly. But a little wind and grass will blow, and the volcano will erupt completely with unimaginable power.
This makes Sammy more nervous, throat dry terrible, even swallowing saliva action are a little incoherent“ Calm down. The protagonist of the play is Lan Li. Just follow him and don't worry. " The makeup artist can detect that Sami's body is shaking slightly, and the uncontrollable tension is exposed in the violent vibration of the pupil. In order to complete the shooting smoothly, he has to advise.
Sammy nodded, not sure if she was listening.
Looking at the restless and depressed crew, the turbulence and commotion everywhere, everyone's eyebrows are stained with a trace of irritable impatience and contempt, and Sammy's mood is tight. Even when she sees Betty's encouraging eyes, Sammy is still smiling and walks into the bus in a panic, Hesitated to apologize to Lan Li, but after all, he didn't have the courage to go to the end of the bus and prepare to shoot.
Soon, the crew was back in the shooting.
For the first time, Sammy made a mistake and appeared in the close-up shot of lenley. Before the performance started, it was interrupted.
The second time, Sammy made a mistake again and grabbed the beat ahead of time. The first part of lanli's performance had just started, and she had already started to perform. As a result, all the content filmed by the director was misplaced.
The third time, lanli made a mistake. The makeup artist's treatment was too heavy. He powdered lanli's nose, which made the camera look very strange.
The fourth time, Sammy made a mistake again. The previous shooting was very smooth, and he had already come to the second half. However, Sammy forgot his lines and got stuck, which led to the failure of the first half of lanli's performance.
……
It's a disaster to put the film back into shooting. It's not smooth, but more difficult. Stumbling, a play has been repeated so many times, even a complete shooting has not been completed. The atmosphere of the crew can't help being more impetuous - why continue shooting? Isn't it enough to use the whole part of the previous one? In the twinkling of an eye, another 40 minutes have passed, and they are still spinning around in the same place. What is this? Do ghosts fight against the wall?
"Sammy, calm down. We've been shooting this scene for four days. We should know the process better than anyone else. After the brain is empty, we can perform according to the inertia of intuition. That's enough."
Lanli also noticed Sammy's strange, not by mouth to comfort, this seems to let Sammy calm some. The next shooting went wrong again, and then it was finished successfully. The whole performance was flowing and completed in one go. It seemed that it was really the best. There was no reason to ask for more.
But it's just the staff's idea. What about Tony? What about lanli?
