Chapter 1199

After Gu Ding finished his discussion with the two of them, he went to look for Lord Ed and delayed his departure until the next morning. The reason was that he was too tired from the day's battle and needed enough rest.

Of course, Ed agreed without hesitation. He did not have much time to think about Gu Ding at the moment.

On the side of the Deviant Ghoul Army, after the Deviant Ghoul Leader gave his promise, it was as quiet as a ghost town without any living creatures.

If not for the fact that they were still standing on the shattered city wall, everyone would have thought that they had left.

Late at night, Ed sat at his desk with one hand supporting his head. He was drowsy. He had not slept well for many days and was exhausted.

Just as he was about to fall asleep, he felt a sudden chill. He shuddered and woke up from his drowsiness. Just as he was about to get up to grab his blanket, he suddenly realized that his armor was covered in white frost.

"What is this …" Before he could react, he was completely covered in frost. His entire body was covered in a layer of white ice.

Just then, his door opened. Gu Ding, Robb, and Jon walked in.

"Are you sure it won't be a problem?" Jon asked worriedly.

"It'll be fine. I've tested it on mice hundreds of times. They're still alive after they thaw," Gu Ding said confidently.

"I'm more worried that father will flip out when we reach King Descent City." Robb smiled bitterly.

"Just do as I told you before. You can push all the blame on me. Both of you are my hostages. I forced you to do this. "Gu Ding smiled at the two of them. "Even if we get scolded or even beaten up when we reach King Descent City, it's still better than watching everyone die here, isn't it?"

"Robb, we've already come this far. Don't hesitate!" Jon said to Robb.

Robb nodded. He helplessly carried his father and stuffed him into the carriage outside the door.

Next, Gu Ding sealed the loyalists who chose to stay in Winterfell in ice one by one and stuffed them into the carriage. Robb and Jon were the only ones left to persuade those who were a little more open-minded.

After about three hours, Robb and Jon gathered all the defenders. With the help of the remaining generals, they took control of the defenders.

The army started to evacuate Winterfell.

The group of deviant ghosts watched as Gu Ding and the others left.

Before he left, Gu Ding shouted at the mutated ghost leader, "There's no need to wait for three days. Once we've all evacuated, this city will be yours."

The mutated ghost leader nodded at Gu Ding. He was also a little surprised as to how Gu Ding had managed to deal with the Stark family's stubborn fools, but he did not ask.

Seeing that Gu Ding and the others had completely disappeared from sight, the Deviant Ghoul Leader gave an order, and the Deviant Ghoul Army quickly occupied the entire Winterfell.

They traveled south along the King's Lane and stopped at Carlin Bay and Harroway. After about twenty days, they finally arrived at King's Descent City.

The garrison was stationed in Rosby City, which was not far from King Descent City.

Together with Robb and Jon, Gu Ding transported the carriages into King's Descent.

In a hotel room, Gu Ding thawed a few ice sculptures that were sealed in ice.

Robb, Jon, and a few other generals who weren't frozen watched anxiously as they woke up.

"Where is this place? What's going on?! "Lord Ed immediately sensed that something was amiss.

"This is King's Descent City. I'm sorry for kidnapping you without your consent," Gu Ding spoke first.

Robb and Jon then told him the story they had made up.

"How could you do that?! You have no respect for the Stark family's loyalty! " Naturally, Ed knew very well that his two sons must have colluded with Gu Ding, otherwise, things would not have gone so smoothly.

"You can't blame them. I was the one who threatened them. All of you are sealed in ice, so I only need one fireball to kill you. They had no choice but to help me transport you to King's Descent City. "Gu Ding took the responsibility.

Although Gu Ding said that, Ed knew very well that was not the truth.

"I want to know, why did you have to save us?" Ed looked at Gu Ding.

"I want to obtain citizenship in King's Descent City. That way, I can enter the National Library, and preferably the Bachelor's Library. That way, I won't have to spend time studying to become a Bachelor. "Gu Ding stated his purpose very seriously.

"That's all?" Ed could not believe it, but the look in Gu Ding's eyes did not look like he was lying.

"I know you have a good relationship with the King, so I had to bring you here. As long as you ask, I believe the King won't refuse." Gu Ding's expression was still very serious.

"Also, I'm not sure if the Deviant Ghost Army will continue to move south, but I suggest you prepare for war. Winterfell might just be a stronghold they need. When they have gathered enough strength, I don't know what will happen. "Gu Ding finished speaking and turned to walk toward the door.

When he reached the door, he seemed to suddenly remember something. "I live next door. If you've settled your identity, please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks!"

Seeing Gu Ding push open the door and leave, Ed was stunned for a moment. He turned to Robb and Jon and said, "Both of you, follow me into the palace!"

Gu Ding did not know what happened after Ed left. However, Ed was a man of his word. In less than two hours, he had someone deliver a golden token to him. It was a gift from the King.

"It seems like our Lord's relationship with the King isn't just ordinarily good." Gu Ding weighed the token twice, then put it in his arms and walked toward the library.

His clothes were now completely different from the pauper's. Robb had bought him several sets of noble children's clothing along the way, and none of them were cheap.

Gu Ding wore them very comfortably, and his entire temperament was different after he changed. Even Robb joked that Gu Ding looked more like a noble than he did.

When Gu Ding showed the token when he entered the library, the library's management looked at him with respect. One only needed an identity token to enter the National Library, and it did not matter which family it belonged to. However, the Bachelor Tower was different. Only Bachelors or Royal Inspectors could enter. King Robert was a lazy man. When Ed made his request, he threw his token to him without hesitation.

Gu Ding did not even know that the token he was holding was made of pure gold. Moreover, it was something the King had carried with him for many years. Of course, even if Gu Ding knew, he would not care.

Once he entered the library, he began to look for magic-related books.

He had to admit that there were hundreds of times more books here than in Winterfell. There were even many books on magic cultivation. Gu Ding immediately immersed himself in it …
