Chapter 1299

Gu Ding and Y'lisabet had no idea that someone else had already broken into the ruins.

After the two of them entered the mountain, they looked around.

Inside the mountain was a huge cave, and the two of them were standing in the middle of the cave hall.

Inside the hall, there was a huge stone table that had decayed. There were eighteen chairs near the stone table that had also decayed to the point where only a pile of ashes was left.

Other than that, there was a huge blackboard on one of the walls. The writing on it had long since faded. The blackboard was made of some unknown material, but it seemed to be in good condition.

"This hall must be their combat command room." Gu Ding looked at the marks left behind by time, and his mood was a little down.

"It seems that our previous guess was right. This is a military base." Y'lisabet nodded.

"Let's look at the other rooms. There must be something that those guys from the other dimensions are after," Gu Ding said to Y'lisabet.

"Let's split up and explore. There's not much time left." Y'lisabet nodded.

"Okay, be careful. Call me if you encounter any danger."

Gu Ding was relieved to split up and explore because the two of them had arrived inside the military base. It was unlikely that there would be any traps in a place like this where the insiders often walked around.

The two of them split up and explored one room after another.

The first room that Gu Ding stepped into seemed to be a security room.

The room was not big, and there were some surveillance equipment that Gu Ding had never seen before. Its power had been exhausted and it had stopped working. Gu Ding looked at the energy groove and stuffed a rank energy crystal into it.

Then, the surveillance footage began to slowly appear. Gu Ding saw the situation inside the base and the situation in each room. He also saw the footage of the various areas outside the base, including the area that he and Y'lisabet had just entered.

Soon, Gu Ding noticed the team led by the red-haired woman.

"These guys arrived early …" Gu Ding looked down at his wristwatch. "Almost twenty minutes early."

"Y'lisabet and I took an hour and a half to get here. Although they're a lot slower, they should be able to break in in four to five hours." Gu Ding frowned slightly. This was not good news.

"The surveillance system here seems to be able to control the setting of the traps. However, I can't read the Primordial Language, and I don't know how to use these machines …" After a while, Gu Ding called Elizabeth and told her what had happened.

Not long after, Y'lisabet returned to the monitoring room. She glanced around and nodded. "Leave this place to me. Go and check the other rooms."

"Are you sure you can handle this alone?" Gu Ding asked.

"Don't worry, I've used this kind of thing in my previous life. I just need to spend some time to familiarize myself with it. You won't be of much help here. Why don't you explore other areas and see if there are any treasures? "Y'lisabet said and pressed a few buttons with both hands.

A moment later, Gu Ding saw the red beams in the corridor where the red-haired woman was. Some of them were even changing their angles.

"Under my control, these traps are tens or even hundreds of times more terrifying than the ones we encountered before. It won't be easy for them to barge in." Y'lisabet turned her head and smiled at Gu Ding. "With me here, they won't be able to break in without two or three days."

"Alright then, keep in touch."

Seeing that Y'lisabet really knew how to use the equipment here, Gu Ding was relieved. He left the security room and explored the other rooms.

The second room Gu Ding explored was a locker room. After checking more than twenty lockers and other places, Gu Ding found five intact battle armors.

After putting away all the battle armors, Gu Ding left the locker room and explored the next room.

The third room was a large training room with three arenas inside. There were also some training equipment, but they had decayed beyond recognition. After searching for a while, Gu Ding did not find anything valuable and continued to explore the next room.

Gu Ding explored the rooms one by one. There was a kitchen, a bathroom, an interrogation room, and a few offices, but he did not find much.

"The next room is the warehouse. See if there's anything useful." Y'lisabet watched Gu Ding's exploration process through the surveillance system. Sometimes when she saw something that might be a treasure, she would ask Gu Ding to collect it.

The warehouse was very large. Gu Ding had hundreds of shelves, but there were not many things left. Gu Ding went through them one by one.

He saw more than ten intact battle armors and a few standard weapons, all of which were put away.

There were also some rusty spare parts that were not very useful, so Gu Ding did not care.

As for some bottles that were used to store pills, Gu Ding checked them one by one. The pills inside had decayed into ashes.

The strangest thing was that Gu Ding saw a book on the shelf that had not decayed after a long time.

He picked up the book and flipped it open. It was no different from an ordinary book. The content of the book was about some historical story. Gu Ding did not read it in detail, but he still put the book into his Inventory.

After searching the warehouse, Gu Ding walked into the next room.

It was an empty hut. The walls, ceiling, and even the floor were pure white. There was not even a window.

What made Gu Ding even more curious was that there was no surveillance equipment in the room.

He walked out of the room and heard Y'lisabet ask, "Where did you go just now? Why did you suddenly disappear from the surveillance screen? Also, the local area network communication set up by Neptune was cut off … "

Only then did Gu Ding tell him about the strange white room.

Y'lisabet was silent for a moment before saying, "I think I know why the people from those dimensions came here."

"Is it because of this white room?" Gu Ding asked immediately.

"If I'm not mistaken, the white room that you mentioned should be the legendary White Secret Tower. I didn't expect such a thing to really exist. "Y'lisabet sounded a little excited.

"Alabaster? But this thing doesn't look like a tower at all. It's just a small white room. Even the ceiling is flat … "Gu Ding felt that Y'lisabet might have made a mistake.

"The Alabaster is just a name. It has nothing to do with its shape. Legend has it that this tower can give people the opportunity to have an epiphany. Everyone can only go in three times in their lifetime. The duration of the epiphany has a lot to do with the potential of the person, "Y'lisabet said.

"I can only go in three times in my lifetime? I just went in once and came out again … "Gu Ding was a little speechless.

"Don't worry. The one you just went in doesn't count. It only counts when the Alabaster is activated. If the Alabaster is activated, it will go into a self-sealing state. You won't be standing outside talking to me, "Y'lisabet laughed.

"If it's an epiphany, I'm not sure how long it will take. Why don't you go first? You teach me how to control the traps, and I'll help you buy time. When you're done with the epiphany, we'll switch shifts, "Gu Ding said to Y'lisabet.

"There's no need to go through all that trouble. We can have the epiphany together. The Alabaster can accommodate up to nine people at a time. After the epiphany is over, it will directly transport people away, so we don't have to worry about those guys breaking in. Once the Alabaster is activated, the outside world can't interfere, so we don't have to worry about being interrupted. Wait for me, I'll come over now … "
