The fight started almost immediately after we readied ourselves. The bear came at me first. I guess old habits will always die hard since I never threw the first punch. I didn't start fights, I just finished them. That's always been my motto.
The bear was faster than a human but compared to a wolf he was quite slow. I watched as his fist lunged forward and toward my head as if it were in slow motion. I dodged it by side stepping and grabbing his arm. With those movements combined I used his momentum and size against him, throwing him to the ground and giving him a disadvantage.
Most of the time I fought people I usually just blocked and used their own movements against them. Then again, most of the people I fought against were human and I couldn't afford to hit them with my full strength. This time, though, I could fully fight back.
Without hesitating, and without pulling my strength at the last second, I lunged at the bear on the ground. I grabbed him by the foot and pulled hard. I lifted him above my head and slammed him against the ground all in one quick movement.
This new throw had made the bear end up on his back so that he was at least facing me when I kicked his ass. Yet, it wouldn't be that easy now, would it?
Just as I lunged at the man he seemed to recover a little bit. He was half sitting by the time I jumped at him and tackled him to the ground. He was stunned and pissed by this point, growling at me with a confused look on his face.
"I'm going to fucking kill you, bitch." His words were unoriginal, and the same went for the growl. He was completely predictable right now.
I had gotten him down on his back and was sitting on his chest to hold him in place. I was giving this my full strength so I heard, and felt the bone breaking force of my punches as I hit him in the face and on the left side of his head. I was burning off some of my frustrations as well as taking down an enemy. This was the best kind of therapy there was and I never really let myself get involved with it because I knew how I got.
I was losing control. I was starting to become more like an animal with every passing second. I was literally taking on the mentality of my beast the more that I fought. It had happened to me before, that night that I met Lucian all those years ago. That had been the last real time that I had let my wolf out to play.
"Don't let her beat you." I heard a man yell from near the trees.
"Come on, we need to help him." Another man chimed in.
"Dude, if she is strong enough to take down the boss then we don't stand a chance." A third, more timid sounding man spoke up.
"Come on, if we all work together we can take her down." The second man spoke again.
Following that there was a chorus of agreements from the others.
"Yeah!"
"We got this!"
"Let's fuck the bitch up."
I did my best to not let their words affect me while I dealt with the bear beneath me. His face was bloodied and I could tell that he was just on the verge of losing consciousness. One final blow was all it took, one more punch to his left temple and I watched as he drifted off into the lands of dreams.
'Well, at least I took care of the strongest among them.' I thought to myself as I stepped off the man and looked around me.
I could see them now. The ten newcomers that had joined us outside. That still didn't account for the eight or so more men inside the ramshackled shack-like building. Well, it probably used to be a nice house, but now it was nothing more than this shack.
I could still see Matthew too. He was grinning at me as he stood there on the front porch. He had known that I was going to win the fight. He had known it and he still didn't warn the man that came after me. He just wanted to see the drama unfolding before him.
"What are you going to do now baby cuz?" He taunted me as the men started to surround me.
"I'm going to do my best to kick their asses, then I'm coming after your stupid ass. I won't let you get back to tell Victor where I've been." I growled at him through my teeth, the sound was a lot more menacing than I had intended it to be, but that actually seemed like a good thing.
"Well, I can't have that happen now can I?" He laughed, the sound of which grated against my skin and made me want to shudder just from the feel of it. "If I see that you might win, what is to stop me from running away?"
"Nothing I guess, but that just proves how much of a coward you are." I glared at him.
"You call me a coward, I call it being a strategist. I need to do what's best for me in the long run. And I think telling my brother where his fiancee has been hiding would be very beneficial for me."
"You're a slimy asshole."
I shot those words at him, but that was all I could do. Before I knew it I was surrounded by the men who had been closing in on me. I knew this was going to happen as soon as they got here. I'm not getting out of here without fighting all of them.
I bared my teeth and snarled at them, even though my elongated wolf teeth weren't currently showing.. I was sliding into my beast mode again, I was preparing to kill them if I had to.
