Now wasn't the time to let him kiss me though. Now I needed to know what the hell had happened. I needed to know where the hell my cousin went.
I put my hands on Kyle's chest, it was bare and felt amazing under my fingers but I didn't let myself think about that. I just pushed my senses past the point of being about to notice that delectable part of him and pushed him away from me with that same force of will.
I may have still felt him under my fingers but he had moved away from me so at least half of what I had been trying for was actually accomplished. The kiss had been short and nowhere near hot and heavy but I was still breathing hard when it was over.
I needed to get out of this bed and get dressed. I needed to get things moving and start looking for my bounty again. I needed to protect myself when my cousin came looking for me because I knew that there was no way that Matthew wasn't going to send Victor after me.
I went to stand up again but I felt another wave of nausea that was so intense I thought I was truly going to vomit. I had made it to the edge of the bed when I slumped forward and put my head between my knees, hoping that would help to make the dizziness go away.
Apparently the way I was acting was worrying the very peculiar Kyle. He was looking at me like he was worried about me and like he thought something was wrong.
"What's the matter Jacy?" I felt his hand slide up my arm, across my shoulder, and come to rest on the back of my neck. "Tell me what's going on, please."
"I just feel sick to my stomach. I probably got hit in the head too hard and I am just feeling dizzy from it."
"Why are you lying to yourself?" He sounded annoyed, like I said something wrong.
"What are you talking about?" I lifted my head as much as I could and looked wonderingly into his red orange eyes.
The look in Kyle's eyes was like that of a man who had just been frustrated by something someone was doing to intentionally be a dick.
"Come on Jacy, you know what I'm talking about. How could you not know? I'm just glad that nothing happened to it." I could see a happy smile on his face now, and he had said something that was very confusing to me right now.
"Happened to what?"
"Jacy?" Kyle was still looking at me with a serious amount of disbelief. It was like every time I spoke I made things worse. "You have to know by now, don't you? What do you think has been causing you to feel sick these last few days?"
I shrugged my shoulders as I looked at him, truly not understanding the look in his eyes or the intensity of words. Not to mention the way he was acting right now.
"I don't know what you're getting at right now, Kyle." I leveled a firm stare at him, a look that I hoped told him to spit it out or shut up. "I know I was sick with worry and stress the other day, or whenever it was I left Boston. And now I have a concussion and need to heal. What else is there?"
"Come on, Jacy. Stop kidding yourself. You're a smart woman. You can't honestly not know the truth. You can't sit there with a straight face and tell me that you seriously haven't already figured out that you're pregnant?"
There was a buzzing and ringing in my ears that made all the sound in the room stop as my ears were rendered temporarily useless. The lack of any sound outside of the ringing and buzzing were both making me have a serious case of vertigo.
I felt like the room was spinning in an unnatural way. It was like the room itself was being distorted and blurred as it twisted around me in a dizzying spiral.
He did not just say what I thought he did, did he? He didn't just tell me that I am pregnant. He didn't tell me that he knocked me up either the other night or the first night. He was not telling me that he went and did this without so much as asking me first.
Granted I didn't stop him from coming inside of me either time but that's besides the point. What the hell was I going to do?
"What the fuck are you talking about?" I decided the best option here was denial. This wasn't real. I was still unconscious and I was having a nightmare.
"I was going to tell you the night that I saw you in the hallway of our building. However, we both got a little distracted. Then you snuck away before the morning so I really didn't have the chance to tell you."
"And when exactly did you figure this out?" I growled the words at him, I didn't like that he knew this about me before I did.
"I suspected when I smelled your scent at my office but I didn't know for sure until I smelled you in the hall that night."
Based on his words he knew before we had slept together the first time. This means that he knocked me up the night we met. The night that he marked me.
"So, you're telling me that you both marked me and got me pregnant on the same night. And I didn't even know you?" I was waiting for his response but it seemed like he was just going to nod. He was saying yes but he wasn't really saying anything at all. "I could smack you right now." I yelled the words at him.
"Yeah, well, I didn't hear you complaining that night. I don't remember you telling me to stop at all." Kyle yelled back in response.
It seems like I had finally reached the end of his patience with me. It was time for Kyle to get angry and try to assert his Alpha dominance.. I could tell we were in for a massive fight right about now.
