Chapter 113 - DATE NIGHT

[KYLE POV]

Well, now that I was given permission by the flamboyant little chihuahua who protected Jacy, it was time for me to do what I wanted: ask her to marry me. I was going to take her out on a date, one that was perfect for my mate. She wasn't overly girly, and I knew that, so this date was going to be tailored to suit her just right.

The morning after I asked EZ for Jacy's hand in marriage, I was already preparing for the date. I knew exactly what I wanted to do so I was setting it into motion. And I don't think she would have a problem with any part of this night.

After Jacy stood around and watched the construction workers finishing up her office, making them nervous as hell in the process, I picked her up and took her straight to dinner.

"Where are we going?" She leveled a glare at me. "Why aren't we going home?"

"Well, I thought you deserved a nice date night." I smirked as I still stared out the window.

"Date night? She seemed nervous for a moment. "I don't like most people's idea of a date night."

"I know you don't." I laughed as I heard the fear in her voice. "But don't worry, I have an idea of what you will like. I am your mate after all." I pretended to be offended by the way she was acting.

"Yeah, but you still haven't known me all that long. I am scared that you will mess this up."

With a laugh, from both of us, I pulled the truck, hers, under the covered drive at the restaurant. Two men from the valet stand came up immediately and opened the doors for us. After giving them a tip, one of them slid behind the wheel in the driver's seat and drove away to park the vehicle.

"What is this place?" Jacy asked as I walked up next to her and slid my hand around her waist. "It looks nice, expensive, and like I should be wearing a dress." There was definitely an uncomfortable air to her voice when she made that remark.

"Don't worry, Jacy, it's fine. You will see."

I led her into the restaurant then so that she could see that even though there were upscale decorations, the people didn't dress as formally as she thought. I think the people who started this restaurant thought they were going to have a higher scale clientele. The people here did have money, but they were the rich people who loved to eat, and most of them were more than comfortable to just be themselves.

We were taken to the table and drinks were brought out. The waiter handed us each a metal coin. The coins had been painted on both sides, green on one side and red on the other.

"Now, this coin here is how you tell the waiters you want more food." He flipped another one he had over as he explained. "If you would like them to stop by and give you more of the various types of meat, just leave the green side up. If you're good for the time being then flip it to the red side. There is an all you can eat salad bar that has some amazing options, including baked and grilled salmon, and other varieties of fish as well. Another popular choice is the large mushrooms, which you can get stuffed or not."

"All you can eat?" Jacy looked at me with a smile, finally understanding what it was that I was doing for her.

"Now, you will have a variety of sides brought to your table for you to enjoy as well. They are also endless, and we ask if you want them refilled often."

The waiter continued to explain how the restaurant worked and how much food Jacy was going to be allowed to eat. Needless to say that she was very happy about it all as well.

Jacy kept her coin on green. Every time a waiter came by she got some of the variety of food they had. It seemed they had about sixteen different types of meat. I didn't think a woman's eyes could get so big over meat that wasn't on a man. Oh well, she enjoyed mine too so that was all that mattered to me.

I watched on as Jacy made her way through a lot of food. I was a shifter, so I was able to eat my fair share of food as well. And I did, but I focused mostly on that salad bar with the salmon and crab stuffed mushrooms. They were really good. I guess the old adage about cats and fish is true, for me at least.

Once Jacy was full, it was time for the next part of our date. I hoped she liked this as much as she had liked dinner.

I drove out to the small drive-in theater and had a surprise prepared for her. I had rented out the entire place so that we were alone and could park wherever we wanted. I had planned for this and put a thick, soft blanket and pillows in the back of the truck. She was a little skeptical at first, but when the action movie started she was instantly happy.

"All you can eat dinner, private showing of an action flick? Why Kyle, if I didn't know any better I would say that you knew what I liked. Have you been paying attention?" The light teasing laugh she gave me was perfect and made my heart flutter.

"Well, a man has to try his best when he meets his goddess." I smirked at her. "Or warrior princess, whichever one it is you would rather be."

"Could I be a warrior goddess?!" She batted her eyes playfully at me and grinned.

"You can definitely be a warrior goddess. That's actually perfect. No one is better than my woman; she is the best there ever was. She's a sexy goddess in the bedroom and a brutal combatant on the battlefield."

That made her laugh and shake her head, but she didn't complain at all. She even seemed to quite enjoy the large tub filled with buttered, cheese, and caramel popcorn. We snuggled in the truck and enjoyed quite the night just holding hands and watching the movie.

I wasn't done with the date though. After the movie, I took her to Revere beach. I thought a nice moonlight stroll would be a good end to this night. Though I also knew that was a little sappy and girly for her.

"You were doing so good there, tom cat." She laughed at me and rolled her eyes. You were making such a wonderful night that was perfectly clear of all sappy romance." We were near the water now, letting it wash over our feet as we watched the moon reflect on the waves. It was nice, romantic, and perfect for what I wanted to do. And I didn't care one bit that my pants were about to get wet.

"Well, there is still one thing left to do, but I am afraid it's considered really romantic." I smiled at her with love in my eyes.

"Really? And what's that?" She seemed curious as she asked.

Without a word, I dropped to one knee right there in front of her, my leg getting wet from the two inches of water and the small rolling waves.

"Oh Goddess, no!" She smiled at me while her cheeks turned red. I could tell she wasn't really upset, just nervous and embarrassed.

"Oh Goddess, yes!" I chuckled as I held her left hand in mine. "Jacy, I know it might feel too soon or rushed, but that is the whole theme of our life together. I love you, I love you so much that it hurts sometimes. I want to be with you, I want us to be a family when the baby gets here. I want you to be by my side as my partner. You will be my Felicitas and help me run my pack. We will work together on anything and everything that ever needs to be done. Will you marry me? Will you be my wife? Will you be my partner through life, the good and the bad parts of it?"

It had turned sappy, but I couldn't help that; it was a proposal after all. But I could redeem it a little bit.

"And will you make me the happiest man alive as you walk down an aisle toward me with your white dress, biker boots, and leather jacket?"

"I fucking hate you sometimes!" She was smiling and looking up at the sky. I think there were tears in her eyes, but I couldn't see them clearly enough. "If I actually have your permission to dress like that at our wedding, then yes, Kyle, I will marry you!"

She was giggling, and I was trying not to jump for joy. I slid the ring that I had prepared onto her finger and rose to my feet. When I pulled her to me, I crushed her in a hug and kissed her fiercely. It was one of the happiest days of my life so far. Funny, all of the happiest days have Jacy in them.

On the drive home, I couldn't help but notice that Jacy was looking at the ring a lot. I wondered if she thought that it was too much. I had kept it simple, knowing her. It was a thin white gold band that looked perfect on her finger, and nestled at the top was a two carat diamond. It wasn't that much, really.
