[KYLE POV]
"Oh no!" EZ sounded like he was the one that had been hurt as he scanned the room. "Where is Jacy? Where is my Jacy baby?" He was looking at me with tears already pouring down his cheeks.
"She's gone." I could feel the tears stinging my eyes as well. "She's gone."
The words were swimming around in my head. I could feel my heart racing, my blood pounding in my ears. There was a slight damper to the sounds around me with the flow of the blood and anger raging through my body. I was struggling to comprehend everything that had happened. I didn't want to believe it. I wanted to just open my eyes and have it not be real.
It wasn't going away though. She was gone. She was really gone. And as those thoughts ran through my mind Winston and the others came storming in through the opened door. They could tell instantly that something bad had happened since, aside from EZ, they were all supernaturals. They all smelled the blood the moment they were inside. Probably before. I was just hyper focused on Maya's screams that I didn't pay attention to anything else until I was inside.
Just as I thought about Maya she started to scream again. I knew she was hungry because she had been frantically trying to find something to latch onto while I was holding her. Even though she was bottle fed and not breastfed that motion was all instinct.
"Shh, shh, shh. It's OK, Maya, it's OK. Daddy has you now."
"Did she get hurt?" Deek asked as he came over to me.
"No, she's just hungry. It's past her feeding time." I glanced at the clock and saw that it was about fifteen minutes past the latest time that she usually ate. I would typically try to get home in time to feed her.
"Let me check her anyway, just to be safe." Deek held his hands out for my baby and I was reluctant to hand her over. After what happened in this house could anyone truly blame me?
"While he checks her, I will get a fresh bottle." EZ started toward the kitchen, his tears still flowing. I looked down at the bottle that was on the floor, the one Jacy had gotten for her, I hadn't noticed before but there were specks of blood all over the bottle.
"What did they do to my wife?" I didn't intend to say those words as I handed Maya over to Deek, but they came out anyway. And they came out right as Lucian came running into the house, still on duty.
"Oh Goddess, no!" The shock in his voice made it clear that he had not been expecting to see this scene at the home of his best friend. "Where is she? Tell me she's just getting cleaned up. Tell me they didn't take her." The pleading look in his eyes matched the quivering in his voice.
"They took her." I told him, feeling the weight of the situation get heavier on my shoulders with each word that I said. "I don't know where they took her, Lucian, but she's gone." The weight of the words, the pressure bearing down on me, it got even heavier.
"No. No. NO! She can't be gone. Jacy is an Alpha. She can't be gone."
"They overwhelmed her, of that I am sure. I felt the pain they were inflicting on her during the fight. She didn't go down easily. She made them work for it. But in the end, it wasn't enough." There was that pressure again, getting heavier and stronger.
"NO!" Lucian was already losing his cool. I wanted to lose my cool too. I wanted to get angry and pissed off, but I had stayed calm and ran to my baby first.
But I wasn't holding Maya now. I didn't have her small, comforting weight in my arms to calm me down, not anymore. I didn't have that small piece of sanity that she had given me.
When I realized all of that, I just seemed to snap. All the rage that had been building in me since I learned that Jacy was in trouble, no, since I started to get suspicious outside my office had boiled to the surface and exploded.
"She's gone." I said the word softly at first, so quiet that hardly anyone heard me. "She's gone." I said it again, a little louder, just as EZ was coming into the room and walked over to where Deek was holding Maya. "SHE'S GONE!" This time the damn burst and I grabbed the chair that was sitting close to the fireplace. I picked it up and hurled it toward the stone, but it hit the gate in front of the fireplace first, causing the glass part to shatter and the chair splintered and broke when it hit the stone.
I was letting the rage flow freely within me; all I could see was red. I was too angry to even remember that there were more people in the house with me. I just kept destroying different things in the house that could have the scent of those assholes on it.
I destroyed so much while everyone just watched on. No one said anything about what I was doing, not one of them tried to stop me at all. They all just let me rage around the living room so that the emotions were there, building and building until I exploded on them.
Finally, when I felt like I was done destroying my house, I collapsed to my knees. It wasn't a random place that I collapsed either. I fell to my knees right next to the place that they had hurt my wife. I was right next to the puddle of her blood that was on the floor. This was where she had been beaten, this was where they had finished her, or made it so that she was incapable of fighting anymore.
EZ walked over to me and knelt on the floor next to me. He was still crying and I knew that watching me go on a rampage probably didn't help him at all.
"Kyle?" He put a hand on my shoulder and looked into my face as he said my name. Before he could say anything else though, I threw my arms around him and put my head on his shoulder.
"They took her, EZ. They took my mate. They took my Jacy."
"And now you're going to get her back. You're going to bring her back for me, and for you, and for Maya, and Lucian, and everyone else." I felt him rubbing small circles on my back as he spoke. "You're going to go get her now, aren't you?"
"Yes, yes I am."
I pulled my head away from his shoulder and looked him in the eyes.
"I am going to find her. I am going to kill that son of a bitch that took her. And I am going to bring her home."
"You won't be doing it alone." Lucian came over and knelt next to me. "I am going with you. I will not stand by and let this go unpunished." I knew that he was like a brother to Jacy, and he loved her very much.
"I'll take you there. It's my former pack. I know where it is, and I will be going with you too. It's time for them to pay for what they've done. Not just now, but in the past as well. " Deek added boldly.
"I am going with you as well." Winston added his support to the rescue mission.
"As will I." Bastian was now next to EZ and therefore next to me.
"You're not having this party without me." Laremy was the next one to join us.
"You know that I will be there to help you as well." Baxter confirmed for me.
"I will not let this slide." Jaron was next, followed by Rollins, Chafer, Shepherd, and Toren.
"We will rescue our Felicitas."
"We will bring her home."
"I will help rescue her as well."
"They will pay."
I was overjoyed with all the support they were giving me. I couldn't ask for a better group of people.
"Well, I think that I will be coming along as well. I need to help my new friend, who happens to be my new future brother in-law's alpha." Justin joined us as well.
"Well now, I think Thea and I will be helping too, no need for us to be left out of this little hunting party. We need to find those pricks and kill them."
This was the group that would be going with me. This was the group of men, and one woman, who was going to help me track down those pieces of shit wolves that had tried to destroy my life.
'I am coming for you, Jacy. Just wait for me for a little while. I will be there for you as soon as I can. Just hold on and wait for me.'
As I made that vow and promise inside of my head, I heard one last person speak up. It was EZ, the only person who hadn't vowed to come along.
"I would love to join you all, but I would just be a waste of space. So, instead I will be staying here, taking care of Maya."
