Aiden and Emily slowly walked towards the tracks. It was the mid of September, warm breeze was blowing. The leaves of the trees rustled, making soothing sounds. Although, they were still green, pretty soon they will start to turn colors and fall. Autumn was quite near. Aiden glanced at Emily, her sky blue eyes gleamed with determination, she was immersed in deep thoughts. Her light brown hair were tucked in a high ponytail, dancing along the breeze. She was wearing a simple plain dark-blue colored tracksuit with the GCA logo imprinted on its back. Indeed, she looked decent and pretty. Compared to other girls, who were wearing jumpsuit and rompers. More like having a fashion show rather than participating in sports.
They reached the tracks and both of them put their thoughts aside. "Okay, so there are different types of races. Short distanced races are technically sprints, which include 100m, 200m and 400m. Girls only have sprints, unlike us boys, we also do marathons." He paused, took a deep breath and started explaining further. "But, you can also be take part in hurdle race and relays." Aiden inhaled and exhaled deeply as he was trying to fit his explanation in two breaths. Emily shook her head chuckling.
"Will you participate in the marathon?" Emily asked after a pause, out of the blue. Aiden was stunned, "Of course, I will! Why do you ask?" Emily shrugged, smiling, "How many games are you planning to participate in?" Aiden lost the smile he had, slapping his face, "Damn! I totally forgot about that stupid new rule. Now what?!" Emily couldn't help but laugh at his freaked out expression. "If I recall, someone told me yesterday that what's so hard in picking out five games." She said, wiggling her eyebrows.
Aiden was totally blushing right now. Emily laughed again. She tried to change the topic, "So... what will be our gym routine now?" Aiden rubbed his chin, narrowing his eyes. "Probably we will have to shift it to evening. How about this... After practice from college, we will go to our houses, eat, drink, rest etc. and then come to gym around 6 p.m.?" Emily thought about it for a while, nodding her head. "But are you sure you want to go to the gym now, sports are up ahead, obviously we won't be granted leave from studies, are you sure you can manage all this?" He asked again, concerned.
"I just joined the gym! My body could really use some work out as you know I'm not in a good shape. I'm pretty sure I'll manage it. No worries!" Emily ensured.
"Okay, then. Whatever you want!"
They stayed for quite a while after college, Emily checked the time on her wrist watch. Woah, it was half past three. Seeing her startled face, Aiden informed her, "The coach said that it's not necessary for you to stay after college for exactly two hours, it's just to facilitate the students, so they can practice." Emily sighed, how did he know I was thinking about it.
"Well then, I'll be changing and going now, I have checked out the games and I think I am ready to fill out the form." Emily waved him goodbye and went to the changing room. Thankfully no one was there so Emily was able to change pretty quickly. Just as she was about to open the door of the cubicle to go out, she heard the door of the changing room burst open followed by stomping and loud voices of girls fighting. Shewas in a shock, standing there in the cubicle, she overheard the conversation outside. She recognized the voices, surely enough it was Ivy and Hazel.
"Ugh! I can't believe that Emily is so shameless!" Ivy blurted out in anger.
What...?!
Hazel tried to console her ,saying, "Oh, Ivy! For goodness sake, calm down! No one would be interested in that idiot. Are you insane?"
What... Is... Happening?
"Huh! I know that too! But how can she be so confident in herself? She is totally mad! First she tries to hook up with Aiden, and now Cyril. Like... seriously?!" Ivy shouted at Hazel. "Ivy, please, you are just over thinking about stuff. You are clearly prettier and no one can steal the spotlight from you. They'll probably come begging to you themselves!" Hazel replied, agitated.
Oh, so that's what's going on... First of all, I am clearly not having any such intentions! Secondly, it seems that you guys saw my awkward situation earlier. Emily thought to herself, trying to suppress her angry. Since they had no intention to leave any sooner, Emily decided to wait, obviously she couldn't come out in this situation. So, she leaned against the cubicle, which produced a creaking sound.
Damn it...
There was complete silence. Emily's heart started to race as soon as she heard footsteps coming towards her cubicle. "Who's there?!" Hazel yelled.
