It's been about a month since I last met with the Got Married producers.
"Dylan are you ready!?" Yuri noona shouts from the lounge.
"Getting dressed!" I reply back in a similar tone of voice
"Hurry! Our plane leaves in 3 hours to Jeju"
"Geez mom, there's plenty of time" I reply with a mild tinge of annoyance
Putting on my white cardigan, I give myself a final once over, proud at myself. I clean up pretty well.
Walking out of the room, I face the appreciful faces of Hora and Yuri who makes her way over as if to confirm whether the person in front of her is myself.
Yuri then proceeds pat me down and offer compliment "Wow, I always knew you were a pretty boy but jeez you seem way more mature today"
I do a little spin and then strike a pose showing off my semi formal attire.
"Baechu, why do you think is my 'bride' going to like it" I tease, she's been moody ever since told her I will be appearing on 'reality' dating show
Seeing that sour expression on her face, I laugh knowing my attack was effective.
I walk over to her and wrap her tightly into an embrace from behind.
"You know it's just for work right?" I plea trying to get her majesty's amnesty.
Tugging on my collar, she pulls me down and looks me squarely in my eyes.
Her eyes staring deep into my soul
She then reaches into her pocket tacking out a pin about 1 inch wide and 2 inches long , it's in the shape of a lock, with the detail reminding you of the fine works from France.
She then proceeds to put it by my breast pocket. The fine gold adds to the plain white pullover as if it was meant to come as a pair.
"Have fun, but don't forget" she says, "You have a owner"
"Since when? I thought I was a free man?" I retort
"oh you want to be free?" she asks with her eyes large. The temperature in the room seems to have dropped to an all time low.
I swear when she looks at me like that, I can't help but feel that she's a little, just a tiny bit of a yandere.
No wonder they say" hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".
I would not want to be near Hora when she's genuinely pissed at me.
I fear my life could be in danger. Should I take out a Hora based life insurance policy just to be safe?
"uhm, oh no! I don't want to be free. I am forever masters humble servant. I live to serve" I quickly solemnly swear my allegiance
"Good boy" she breaks out into a cute smile.
Kissing me lightly on my cheek and then escorts me to my car.
Even though the trip is only 3 days.
I'm still in full dramatic goodbye mode. As I enter into the backseat, I turn once more to her.
"I'll call you when I'm there. Don't miss me too much!.... Oh and don't forget to tell Won, I won't be home too" I say full of energy
The drive to the airport is uneventful. But once we arrive, the outside is like a runway.
There are more paparazzi then I expected.
Strangely bar a few, the rest don't seem interested in me, in fact it looks like they are waiting for someone else.
For those that have recognized me, it seems I'm an unexpected topping to the main dish to come.
They clearly didn't expect me to be here but they won't let the freebie pass by.
Well that's not surprising given that my appearance wasn't annouced before hand, my casting in GM will only be revealed later today.
I then have the obligatory airport fashion photoshoot.
I must admit, it's really daunting facing all these cameras in public. People around us are avoiding this area like the plague.
I can't help but find myself grow slightly embarrassed at the ridiculousness of such a situation.. What am I even doing putting on a runway at Incheon International.
Thankfully my display of public sexiness is appreciated by the reporters who have become engrossed in their subject matter and turned into enthusiastic photographers.
Even those who don't know who I am take a picture or two, and smile proudly at their camera display.
I wrap up after 2 or 3 minutes of doing specific poses requested by the female reporters, some are even requesting that I lose my shirt. The hungry look in their eyes clearly showing the desire that lies beneath.
Just as we begin wrapping up, I hear one of the reporters scream, "She's here!"
This causes a massive stampede to occur as they all become gladiators fighting for a glimpse.
A morsel of attention if you will.
I am immediately forgotten as it becomes baron around me, turning around I try and see who is causing all this fuss.
Unfortunately with the sea of people in front of me makes it near impossible to even catch a slimmer of the females appearance.
I can only resign myself to the fact that I will have to wait for tomorrow's papers to see who it is, as I head to join the production crew waiting for me.
"Good Morning Dylan, I see you dressed up" One of the producers makes a comment as they begin to mic me up, for the first interview of this season.
"Yeah, it's not everyday a boy gets married"
"You ready to start"
"Yeah all good" I say as I adjust the mic, as the cameras nearby get into focus.
"Introduce yourself"
Facing the camera, I begin my intro, "Hello there viewers. I am Dylan Park. A rookie actor, who is getting married today. Please treat me well."
Interviewer: "How old are you?"
Dylan: "I'm 19, but I'm turning 20 soon."
Interviewer: "Do you have any idea who your wife might be?"
Dylan: "Uhm no, I'm really nervous. Pd-nim did mention that she will most likely be older than me, I just hope that we get along well"
Interviewer: "When was the last time you dated?"
Dylan: "Uhhh.. About a year ago" (Technically, I'm not lying)
Interviewer: " And what was she like?"
Dylan: "She was an angel in human form"
Interviewer: "So what caused you to break up with that angel?"
Dylan: "Well we both have dreams. And we are currently working towards them" (Okay, if this air's I am totally going to get killed by Baechu no matter how much I try to sugarcoat this)
Interviewer: "Well That happens. Now why don't you read this" She says as she hands me a envelope. "Inside is a letter from your wife - "
Carefully opening the seal, trying not to tear the envelope I read aloud.
To my husband -
It feels strange to write a letter to someone I don't know. But .... since I haven't written a
letter since middle school, it is quite nostalgic.
From what I have been told, we both share a passion for acting and film. Finding
something in common these days with someone else is proving rarer and rarer these days.
I really don't know what to write so I will just ramble off my thoughts, on why I chose to
be an actress, so that maybe understand this person writing a bit more.
Personally, I think that being an actress gives you the best excuse to never stop learning
or growing. There's always a new role to prepare for, always new things to learn and to
understand. I never want to settle into a rut, settle into life, when there are new things to
learn, discover, and explore.
That said, there are also too many things in life that I want to do. I'd become a doctor, a
nurse, a lawyer, a teacher, a writer, an actor, a Broadway star, a rock star, a recluse in high
hermitage, a pastor, a pianist, a conductor, a video game designer.
There are, literally so many things that I will never be able to do.
For me, acting (and writing) are the great compromise. I never have to be the same
person for too long. I get a taste of all these lives and more
So now I am faced with a new experience being someone's wife. I hope that like all my
past roles this will add to both of our lives and be unforgettable.
Please take care of yourself until the day we meet
Love,
Your wife - T
Interviewer: "What do you think, after reading that? Is that how you feel towards acting too"
Dylan: "I feel similar. She must be a very good actress"
Interviewer: " She is somewhat popular. Is there anything you want to say to your wife before we wrap up?"
Dylan: "I look forward to growing and learning from you too. Please take care of me"
And with that greeting the interview is wrapped up nicely as we proceed to board.
