The morning sun hits her face, as her eyelashes shook as Hora subconsciously turns to avoid the disturbing light.
Making my way in the room holding a tray, I slowly wake up as her eyes open, smiling; " Good morning, babe"
She pouts as she says groggily answers: "Well not a good one to you, you bastard?"
Chuckling at her potty mouth," Come on look, I even spent an hour making this ribs soup"
"Don't want it, I'm dieting."
"Make an exception for today hmm, you won't gain weight just because of this, come on… taste it… how's the flavour?"
"Wait! I need to brush my teeth"
"Okay …. I'll take you to the bathroom."
"Jerk"
After a warm breakfast with some mobility issues, Hora had to ask for leave from training once more. Not that it was really going to be an issue, given the special privileges she didn't know she enjoyed.
The two lovers lazed for a while before I had to head to the salon to get ready for the Eyeris preview.
Ten o'clock in the morning, I make my way to Lee Byun and Kim Tae's side, as I wanted them to introduce me to ones from Sony's Distribution Department.
"Dylan, you're saying that you want to release your movie immediately after Eyeris finish airing?" Byun asks startled, he knew about my making a movie as soon filming had been wrapped, but he clearly didn't expect that it would have been completed so fast nor would it be of good quality.
Hyun held some disdain in his heart, while he recognises my talent as an actor, he absolutely wouldn't believe in my directing abilities. Directing a movie requires years of experience after all.
Tae however vows: "Hyun, I've seem the finished product. My hubby made a masterpiece"
"Tae-ah, you aren't filming WGM anymore! Your 100 days is over"
"Haha, you never forget your first love, right Darling?" She says cutely as she nudges the inside of my chest.
Deciding to give me some face, he promises to introduce me to some people later in the day.
…..
Thankfully, the drama preview went smoothly.
Near noon, Byun brought me to a forty-year-old middle aged man with rimmed glasses. This was Sony Korea's head of the Distribution department, Director Chung-Ho.
Byun introduced the two of us for a bit before quickly leaving. Although he had a good relationship with Us, he wouldn't go so far as to ask for favours' on my behalf, not that I would ask him to or need him to either.
"Hello, Mr Chung." I shook hands with the man, while he politely praised my performance in Eyeris.
However as soon as my intentions were explained to him, the latter immediately refuses: "I'm sorry Dylan, this year's release schedule is already full, we can't afford to squeeze in another film, no matter the budget. I'm really sorry"
The reason was definitely bull, if the movie had been directed by Spielberg instead, I am sure that he would have been so happy he'd start jumping.
Although I was being rejected, I didn't give up: "Mr Chung, please take a look at least, I brought a copy along, you only need to spend a little more than an hour to watch it. I guarantee you that this is a great film"
Shaking his head once more, a lot of small companies tried to sell him those kind of stuff on a daily basis. 90% of those films had little to no commercial value, let alone the film of a twenty year old. In his mind it was just a waste of time.
"Dylan, you know, I'm very busy with work right now, and I have to head back to the office this afternoon. I'm sorry"
Unwilling I cheekily kept insisting a few times, before he finally lost his patience and found an excuse to leave.
"How did it go?" Tae asks as she makes her way over.
Offering a wry smile, she pats me on my shoulder before comforting me a bit, "Don't be discouraged. You know many movie releases cost even higher than the making of the movie itself, and if they don't get a good box office, then the head of the Distribution Department has to bear responsibility."
"I get it Tae-ah" I gratefully answer, my heart still slightly bitter.
Everyone seemed to regard the Man from Nowhere, as the experimental film of a rookie, while I wish I could just tie all those present to their seats and forcefully make them watch it.
Unfortunately, this idea would never come to fruition.
Dejectedly heading home, since Sony showed no interest, I could only try other studios.
Curled up like a cat, Hora is on the living room sofa, boringly watching a soap opera. Propping her small head up she asks: "So how was it?"
Coming to her side, I hold her, rubbing her back, "Sony rejected it… but's it's okay, I'll try somewhere else"
Feeling my disheartened tone, she clings onto my waist lifting her head loss, "Your movie is really good. When it gets released, they will definitely regret it"
"Ah my little Baechu, you always know just what to say, hhmm?" I ruffle her hair as I take in her scent.
She quickly kisses me, as she teases, "I know another thing that might cheer you up"
"Oh really now"
I'm about to go in for another taste before we are quickly interrupted by the ringing of the phone.
Reluctantly just as I was bout to push Hora down, I have to let her go.
"Hello… you've reached the Park Residence. Dylan Speaking."
