Chapter 14 - The truth is that. . .

Anko was trying her best to keep her awareness awake, but every second that passed made it harder.

She had to make sure that the people who came were someone trustworthy because she could be a spy or worse, Danzo. Then everything would go to hell.

Since the incident with the Uchiha Clan, Danzo had been silent, but she knew, he couldn't resist the temptation to get a weakened Jinchuriki.

The other that could happen is that the villagers discover their position and come as quickly as possible. With the young man's current appearance, it was obvious that they would attack mercilessly.

After that, the situation would escalate too quickly because Kurama in some way or another would react and counterattack. Hiruzen would have no choice but to side with the villagers, after all, he was Kohona's Hokage and his duty was to protect them.

Anko looked at the boy who was in such bad shape that the sound of his breathing was barely audible.

"I'm sorry Foxy-kun" - tears sprouted from Anko's eyes as she waited for the arrival of the people who were approaching. The kunoichi had a cold look and a kunai in one of her hands, but she relaxed greatly when she felt a familiar chakra - "Kushina-san ..."

"Sochi!" - Kushina shouted when she saw her son's condition.

Anko tried to say something but Kushina didn't even give him a look. This only made the blame of the woman with purple hair even greater as she watched the redhead take the unconscious young man's pulse.

"I need you to tell me what happened" - Hiruzen said seriously when he arrived at the place.

"I ..." - Anko murmured.

Little by little, the Shinobis began to gather, among them Kakashi, Yamato, Kurenai, Asuma, Gai, Mikoto, Itachi, Inoichi, Hiashi, and Yugao, who was wearing an Anbu cat mask, serving as the personal guard of the Hokage.

Hiruzen understood what the woman was trying to express and nodded - "Those who have no relationship with Kurama-kun, I ask you to retire ..."

The newcomers looked at each other for a few seconds and left without saying anything, with the clear exception of Anbu Neko.

The purple-haired kunoichi took a small breath before beginning to tell what happened without leaving any detail out. She bit her lip and looked at Uzumaki sadly as she continued her story, noticing how the redhead's expression became worse and worse.

"Sochi ..." - Kushina murmured as she tried to use her Medical Jutsu but seemed to have no result.

"Summing up ... while you were running behind him, you pressed him so much that he ended up remembering something he shouldn't have remembered ... probably a memory of the Kyubi ..." - Hiruzen said while ordering the data in his mind - "That memory was so dark that the boy ended up losing control of his emotions and began to transform into the Bijuu ... everything all right up there?"

"H-Hai ... Hiruzen-sama" - Anko affirmed with a pain in her c.h.e.s.t.

"..." - Kushina was just listening in silence while doing everything possible to try to relieve the pain of the young redhead. She knew that Kurama was hiding something important from her but she had decided to wait until the boy was ready, although now she was repenting.

Kushina could only curse her indecision and now she was paying the price.

"Please ... don't leave me too ..." - the woman thought as she looked at her son - "I need you ... so don't leave me alone ..."

Kushina was internally shattered. The betrayal she had received at the hands of her ex-husband was still frequent and Kurama's constant trips to the hospital did not help her poor heart.

"We shouldn't have returned to Konoha ..." - the redhead thought as she looked at her son - "We should have stayed in Uzu ... there we would remain in peace ..."

The young redhead had told him about many things over the years. About the name of the Kyubi and his brothers, about the events that happened a long time ago with the Otsutsuki Clan, about the two sons of the Sage of the Six Paths, Indra and Ashura but she knew there was something he never told her.

"What do you not want to tell me?" - Kushina thought - "Don't you trust me?"

A strong pain began to be born in the redhead's c.h.e.s.t. She felt that something important was being destroyed.

"For now let's take Kurama to the hospital" - said old Sandaime - "When he wakes up, we will have some answers"

Anko slowly approached Kushina and said in a sad voice - "Kushina-san ... I'm sorry ..."

Kushina looked at her in anger for a few seconds because the woman in front of her had been the one who caused her Sochi to end up in this state, but she quickly calmed down because she knew Anko couldn't hurt her 'Foxy-kun' - "We'll talk later... for now let's take Sochi to the hospital ... "

Kushina raised the redhead as delicately as possible and advanced to the hospital with an Anko following her with red and empty eyes.

What they didn't know was that because they were so focused on Kurama, a shadow was watching them all this time without anyone noticing - "I have to tell Danzo-sama about this ... I'm sure he will be delighted with the news that the Kyubi Jinchuriki is weak ... "

* * * * * * *

Upon arriving at the hospital, Kurama's physical wounds had mostly recovered but he was still not regaining his consciousness.

Kushina took one of the doctors and said in a desperate voice - "Doctor! Tell me why my Sochi is not yet awake!"

"Calm down lady! The current state of the 'young' is 'normal'!" - said the doctor with annoyance - "It's just that the mental shock caused by some kind of trauma, plus the fact that he has a chakra deficiency due to the use of a forbidden technique, has caused him to be in a kind of Induced Comma with the goal of not damaging his brain ..."

"How 'young' ?!" -Kushina said angrily at the doctor's sarcasm - "He's normal!"

"Sure..." - Said the doctor before leaving - "Demon Whore ..."

Kushina was about to jump to beat up the bastard who called her a whore but was stopped by Hiruzen who had entered the room - "Don't do it Kushina-chan ... he doesn't know anything about it"

"Old man ... Why the f.u.c.k don't you tell the village about everything that happened with the Kyubi?!" - Kushina said looking at old Hokage - "I can't let people treat my Sochi like that!"

Hiruzen looked at her and said - "Kushina-chan, I understand how you feel but ..."

The Sandaime could not continue speaking because he was interrupted by the redhead - "Understand?! Understand what ?!"

"For my Sochi, I had to leave the village! I had to leave the bastard of my husband!" - the redhead shouted angrily - "And now you tell me that I have to endure how they look at us with contempt just for the fact that Minato's Sealing Jutsu went to hell and caused a mutation in my baby?!"

"And to put a cherry on the cake ... You tell me you understand!" - Kushina was enraged. She knew that the Hokage treated her as a family only at times that were necessary to maintain Konoha's stability, after all, she was formerly the wife of Minato and jailer of the Kyubi, although now she was none other than the "mother" of the Kyubi.

Kushina realized that at this time she only had two people in her family.

One was Anko, and although she had made a serious mistake, the redhead could understand that the purple-haired woman was just as destroyed as she and the second and most important, her Sochi, her Naru... no, her Kurama... her Kuro-chan...

Kushina gave the Sandaime an emotionless look and said - "Hiruzen-sama could you please leave us alone for a moment ..."

Hiruzen shivered at the tone and noticed Kushina's gaze.

It was at that moment that he understood how hypocrite it was to call the Uzumaki as his family. He always said that all the things he did were for their good, but after a little thought, all those decisions were really for the good of the village - "I'm sorry ..."

"Don't worry, Hiruzen-sama" - the redhead denied - "After all, you are the leader of Konoha and as a duty, you have to protect your people"

"Kushina ... I will try to help you ..." - said old Sandaime.

"Thank you" - Kushina said with a calm look - "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go see my Sochi"

"..." - Hiruzen was silent again while watching as the woman who once thought to see as a daughter, returned to the young redhead. Slowly all his decisions began to appear in his mind. How he did nothing to stop Minato's movements, how he did nothing when he learned of his attitude with his son, how he did not try to give some advice to the poor and broken woman, how... how he had wanted to keep the infant in Konoha for the village to maintain its military power.

Hiruzen trembled when he thought about the latter and how he had ruled out that option at the last minute. Maybe he still had some family love for Kushina or he simply knew that they would return to Konoha after a while.

Now he was more depressed than before while he felt that his teachers would be disappointed by his actions, especially Mito-san.

"I can still fix this ..." - Old Sandaime muttered - "I can still become what I always said I was, a family for those two ..."

The Hokage quickly left the hospital room and walked towards the Hokage tower, hoping to find some way to mend his relationship with the two redheads, only this time it was not for Konoha, but his own decision.

"Kuro-chan ..." - Kushina said while stroking the boy's cheek - "I promise you nothing bad will happen to you ... and like an Uzumaki ... I will fulfill my promise ... even if we have to live just the two of us deep in the forests of Uzu ... "

Yugao and Kurenai were outside Kuram's room waiting for the redhead to come out to speak. The two women knew that something had happened inside, after all, they had seen how the Sandaime had come out with a conflicted expression that slowly calmed down.

Very carefully the two knocked on the door but after waiting for a few minutes they still received no response. The two girls began to worry about their Sensei, so they entered without permission.

Inside the room, Kushina was looking at her son with a face full of sadness - "What do they need ... Yugao-chan, Kurenai-chan ..."

"..." - The girls will remain silent when they heard the voice so cold and sharp of the woman they respected and wanted as a mother. The smile he had always shown was not anywhere and that caused them even more pain.

"Girls ... I don't think it's the best time to talk" - Kushina said in a voice full of pain - "Go home ..."

"Sensei ..." - They tried to talk, but once again they were silenced by the redhead - "I'm sorry girls ... I'm not in the mood to talk to anyone ... not when I discovered that I only have two people in my life..."

The girls' hearts broke when they heard this, after all, they always thought they were on the redhead's side but everything was wrong. When Kushina needed them the most, they stayed in Konoha because they already had their lives done.

Anko was the only one who accompanied her sensei during her darkest moments with her son and that was the reason she held her so dearly.

"I can't take it anymore!" - Said the voice - "Kushi-chan. I have to talk to you!"

"Miko-chan ..." - Kushina murmured as she looked at the newcomer Mikoto - "As I told Yugao and Kurenai ... I don't feel like talking to anyone right now ..."

"I'm sorry Kushina but this is serious" - Mikoto said with a firm expression while looking at the unconscious boy - "It's something that can't wait for later"

"..." - Kushina just sighed in response but nodded anyway - "Ok... Girls, I need you to leave us alone ..."

Yugao and Kurenai could only bite their lips as they watched as their Sensei was increasingly distant.

"We're leaving. Kurenai ..." - Yugao said with a neutral expression.

"But!" - Shouted the red-eyed Kunoichi but was silent when she saw the look of her friend - "Ok ..."

"I would ask you to accompany me to another place to talk ... but I am sure that that can't happen" - Mikoto said while looking at the boy - "Not when doctors can do something stupid ..."

"One learns from his mistakes, Mikoto-chan" - Kushina replied - "When he was a newborn, someone tried to kill him ... and it is quite obvious that the same thing may happen once again ... I am sure of that..."

The looks given by some doctors and nurses showed the deep resentment they had for Kyubi no Yoko.

"I think it's time for us to retire" - Yugao murmured as she took her friend - "I would have liked our meeting to be in a better way, Kushina Sensei ..."

"..." - Kushina did not answer, just watched as the girls quietly retired and then turned to see her best friend - "Now?"

Mikoto took a little air while trying to calm her racing heart.

Kushina was starting to lose patience. She had been acc.u.mulating a lot of stress with recent events and was not helping her friend take her time - "Miko-chan! If you have anything to say, say it here and now!"

"Better sit down, Kushina-chan ..." - Mikoto said - "This will be a hard thing to digest ..."

"..." - Kushina's gaze became increasingly cold.

"The truth is that ..." - Mikoto said as she began to tell her about the events that had happened in the Genin Exam.
